HP Omen 15 (Mid-2017 refresh)

Hey guys,

I'm in the market for a new laptop and I've been eyeing the new HP Omen 15 (mid-year refresh); specifically the ce030tx model with the 1050ti. When they listed this model on HP malaysia official store they listed the display specs as "120 Hz IPS FHD". However, a few days after I asked an HP sales rep about the panel (who told me that it is indeed a 120 Hz IPS", the same model (ce030tx) no longer mentions the display being 120 Hz.

I am assuming then that the panel is the same as the one on the so-called "base model". If that's the case, can someone give me an idea as to how bad the base model display is? Some of the online reviews (e.g. Dave2D on youtube) really blasted the base model display, saying that it's dim and washed out. I don't want to waste money on a laptop only to miss out on a good display because HP malaysia doesn't offer any upgrade options to its customers.

I'd really appreciate your help with this. Maybe some HP Omen users can chime in?

Thanks.
