UCSI or Taylors for Master of Clinical Psychology?

So I've applied to 3 public unis for their clinical psychology programs, got rejected by 2, and I don't think I'll get the last one either.

My only option now is private unis, but HELP is too competitive, so low chance I'll get in, so I'm thinking either UCSI or Taylors.

Does anyone know which one of the 2 unis' program is better and easier to get accepted?

Thanks in advance

Company made up fake story under my google review

I left a one star review under this company Envitech Engineering due to their poor service, and then the owner got salty and made a fake story of how I'm an intern who wasn't satisfied with their internship allowance in order to make me look bad. I've never seen such a childish business owner, but i guess there's a first time for everything.

Edit: Alright, I'm closing this thread. Aaron Ong aka Teslaman is starting to become desperate by trying to doxxing me and others here. He also sent several harassment messages and death threats to my inbox. I won't entertaining your stupidity, Aaron. You can cry to your mom.

Open University Malaysia (OUM) is Silencing Me

So I've posted this on reddit previously, and someone suggested me to post it here as well. And so here I am.

A little background: OUM has a continuous problem with their system where occasionally it fails to register the submissions of students' files (documents, videos, audio, etc.). And due to this issue, many students including me have had our marks deducted unnecessarily due to the university not receive our files. When appealed, OUM automatically assumes that it's the student's fault and dismisses the case.

TL;DR at the end of the post

And this time, shockingly, it happened when I was trying to apply to reassess my assignments due to having low marks. The system failed to register my application and hence, my assignments were not reviewed. I tried to create a ticket and informed the issue via the university's customer service called ECRM. And as always, they dismissed my case.

Since there was nothing I could do, I felt that I had the responsibility to address the issue on our OUM student Facebook group. Many students stated that they had the same problems as well (just like I mentioned previously). Others were shocked since they'd never experienced such issue.

Then, one of the students suggested that I should seek help from my Learning Centre (OUM has different branches across the country), and so I did. The staff gave me the email of the person in charge of the assessments of examination and assignments. So I emailed her and told her the whole story. Similar to ECRM, she promptly dismissed my case. And when I explained further, she never replied again.

So wrote another post to update my situation and warn my fellow students that they need to be extremely careful as such problem didn't just happen to me once, but several times.

Apparently, my post caught the attention of the university as the next day, one of the academic staffs and a self-proclaimed counsellor contacted me and said that she was aware of what I did. She further said that what I did was damaging the reputation of OUM and that regardless of what happened, I should deal with the university myself and not bring the problem to the public. I explained that my purpose wasn't to shame OUM nor damage its reputation, but to raise awareness of the issue so that other students wouldn't experience what I and several others did.

On the same day, my second post was removed by the admin, citing "false issue".

Then the day after, the admin removed my initial post, apparently, as demanded by OUM.

Additionally, I also found that my comments related to this subject on posts were removed as well.

Evidently, OUM is controlling the Facebook group and monitoring what students do or say and would silence anyone who attempts to criticize them. It's appalling and disgusting that an academic institution would act in such a political manner and to go as far as restricting the students' freedom of speech. As students, I strongly believe we have the right to comment our university. We pay for our student fees and deserve to be treated fairly. Silencing any criticisms and pretending nothing happened wouldn't solve the problem, and in the future, there will still be students who would fall victim into such problem.

TL;DR: My application for my assignment marks to be reassessed was not registered due to OUM's faulty system. I made 2 posts to address the issue on our OUM student Facebook group (the 1st one to address the main issue, the 2nd as an update). After being made aware, the university ordered the admin to remove both posts and my comments related to the subject on other posts.

The reason I'm making this post is to let other students be aware of such issue that OUM is trying very hard to cover it up, and also to let those who are considering to enroll to think twice before doing so.

Disappointed with the company

Been working in a company for more than 3 months, an entry level job. The company has been established a long time ago, but the department I'm working in is relatively new, not even a year. Even the manager is new.

Everything was good in the beginning. My manager once even wanted to promote me to the quality analyst (QA) position, but I declined. I loved what I was doing and I didn't want to change anything.

But then, everything changed. I don't know where to start so I'll just write whatever comes to my mind.

The manager changed from a nice, warm dude to an autocratic, hot-tempered, self-absorbed asshole. Perhaps he was always like that and we just didn't know him long enough. But that's fine, he's the boss, so I'd just bear with that. But the problem is that he is impulsive. Whenever a problem arise, he'd go mad and throw tantrums at everyone, and then he'd proceed to solve the issue in a stupid way without considering the consequences. He wanted the problem to go away asap, so he'd just use whatever method that comes to his mind first. Also, he'd always come up with some random ideas, and by looking at his face, you know that he'd think of himself as a genius. But then again, he never consider the consequences, so his ideas failed every, single time. And then he'd move on to the next crazy idea he thinks of, rinse and repeat. He is also superficial as he always judge his employees' performance not by their hard work, but by how confident they look and talk. So an extrovert would be a better employee than an introvert to him.

And then you got two assistant team leaders who don't even know their own roles. They were supposed to solve minor issues that arise at work so that the team leader can focus on other important tasks. Instead, those two acted like some stupid brats. They always tried to act cool and go around telling everyone to do some useless stuff which were plain meaningless. Basically, they gave orders just so that they looked like they were doing their jobs which we know they didn't. They liked to act cool? That's fine. But the problem is they lack problem solving skills just like their manager. When you have a problem and you go to either one of them, they wouldn't look into the issue carefully and instead, tell you to do something which doesn't make sense at all to solve the issue.

Finally there's the QAs who always set contradictory rules for our work. And we couldn't argue with them because they were always right. The rules were set by them, so they could say whatever they want.

And because of these people, the department is a mess. Problems keep arising and they'd solve them in stupid ways without really ponder about the causes, factors, consequences, etc. They didn't realize that the underlying problem is actually the inconsistencies and lack of coordination between the parties. But I know, not because I'm cleverer than anyone, but because they are lazy to think. If I am to list out the problems of the company, it'd be a long report.

And when you know the truth better than anyone, you become demotivated in your work. You suddenly find that the things you do are meaningless because nothing's gonna improve. You might say, "Well, why don't you tell your boss?"

Here's another problem, my friend. I'm just an agent. And although I was admired by the manager in the past. His attitude towards me has changed now. He no longer thinks I'm a competitive and smart worker. Why? Because I'm not that kind of extroverted, talkative person who likes to be the center of attention. Instead, I prefer to work alone quietly. And I'm also not someone who likes to prove how brilliant I am, because I know that there'll always be someone who knows something that you don't, thus I choose to be humble and not brag about my knowledge and skills. So naturally, no one would think of me as someone with potential because no matter how much I know or how good I am in something, I always stay quiet. And now, I'm just a nobody in the department, no one really cares about what I do.

I don't mind if no one admires me, the main problem is that the department is such as mess and no one realizes it. The manager, the assistant team leaders and the QAs, they all think they are doing a good job when in fact they don't! Every day, there'd be a new problem, a stupid problem which shouldn't even happen in the first place.

I don't have faith in anyone anymore and I wouldn't want to talk to anybody about the issues. I'm finding a new job now and when I receive an offer, I'll just resign, it's that simple.

Working Experience

Whenever I go to job sites such as Jobstreet or Ricebowl, most of the jobs require 1-2 years of working experience. And I was like, how can you have working experience when you've worked in that specialty before?

I mean, I'm interested in that job and I'm willing to learn, but all employers want are those with relevant working experience. Besides, it's not even a job like computer programming or graphic design that needs specific skill set. How come they never consider the fact that most of them with relevant working experience are already working in another company?

And what about those fresh grads? They literally have zero working experience. So are you just gonna continue finding someone else, leaving them unemployed?

Another thing is that sometimes recruitment agents would cold call me to offer me a job in customer service or something relevant because I worked as a customer service executive previously. But there's a reason I quitted my previous job - I don't like it. So how would I want another similar job?

Sometimes, I feel that this is one of the main reasons the unemployment rate in Malaysia is still high and that employers couldn't find suitable people to fill their vacancies.

I love writing, and I want a job in content writing or copywriting, but employers constantly ignored my applications. Yeah, I don't have relevant experience, but at least I've the passion and I'm willing to learn and constantly improve myself. This is something that can only be proved and seen upon employment, instead of only looking at my resume that proves nothing of my enthusiasm in writing. Also, at least I'm fluent in 3 languages, English, Malay, and Mandarin. So I can do translation whenever needed.

Any advice, guys? (Please, no insults or sarcasm)

Laptop Freezes Randomly

My laptop recently freezes randomly regardless of what I'm doing. Watching films, playing game, or just browsing the internet, etc. I tried clicking the mouse, pressing the keyboard, but it wouldn't respond. But the weird thing is that if I close and reopen the lid, the laptop would go back to normal again. So guys, any suggestions as to what might be the problem?

Below are the details of my laptop.

Model: Acer Aspire E 14 (E5-474G-50UR)

Processor: Intel Core i5-6200U 2.3 GHz

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 920M

RAM: 4GB DDR3L

Storage: 1000 GB HDD

Thanks in advance

During the school holidays, I had the opportunity to work for two part-time jobs, salesperson and an administrative assistant.

Below are some of the details of the jobs I'm looking for.

Preferred Type of Job: Any type of job except sales executive which needs to achieve monthly targets

Preferred Working Location: Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan

Preferred Working Hours: Office hours, Monday to Friday

Thanks.
Transfer to Another University

I've been studying in UKM for a semester, but I hate the environment there. The courses are taught in Malay, and half of the number of courses that you study aren't even related to my program. Recently, I've thinking about transferring to another university, as well as transferring my credits as well. If the other public universities doesn't accept my application, then I'll opt for OUM, since private universities are too expensive for me.

But OUM is an open university usually for working people, so I don't know if it suits me. And I'm also afraid that its degree won't be recognized by foreign universities if I want to study abroad...

What do you guys think? Transferring from UKM to OUM, is it worth it?

I'm sure the positions I'd applied are in my league and I fulfill the job requirements. Do the recruiters really looked at my emails/applications? And what should I do? Should I just wait or apply for another job?
