Should we give indicator when changing lanes or changing position

I ask couple friends of my who drive Bmw and Audi
They says Nooo !!!
Because
1 . Waste time
2. Some driver ego too big won't lets you in also
3. More badass for driver
4. Can puts effort and energy to other place like vision for infront cars or speed up
5. Dun need to slow down
6 . Waste cars battery and bulb replacement
7. Can overtake cars easier

For me
I feel we need to puts indicator when changing lanes
Because
1. more safety and the other drivers know where I am going
2. Lets have a idea where you heading
3.like a noob driver

So I am confused which is the better option
Bcoz they are many good side for not using indicator ehen changing lanes
And so little for using indicator for changing lanes .
