5G phones?

I'm currently still using a 3G phone lol. So I'm planning to buy a new one so I can use 4G.

But I heard about 5G coming on the year 2020. Should I hold back on buying phone now? Or just continue to use 4G?

I'm a cheapskate btw. I wont stop using a phone until it's broke. My phone is still usable actually, but the battery drains too fast to be able to use it. So I want to buy a phone that can last for more than 5 years.

Phones that are on my list now:

Honor 8x
Oppo A7
Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M2) ZB631KL

How do I fix myself and my father?

Sorry if this is at the wrong section.

It's 3am and couldnt sleep because of? My father has been drinking again. He came back, made mess, noises, woke everyone up. Always knocking things around or knock on our door mumbling things.

It's been like this for the past few years. And he is doing it more and more recently, until he almost got himself into fatal accident while driving back home.

But that doesnt stop him from drinking.

I know that it's because of stress from his business. I know i cant help him fix it. What can I do? If I mention about these, I can imagine the chaos I will make, "you dont understand me", "I know what Im doing", or proceed to drink and take this as an excuse for not caring about him.

I havent been sleeping for years because of this. If he didnt come back home after 11pm, 100% chance he is drunk outside and come home to make noises again. I dropped all my goals to study for my professional degree bcz I couldnt focus. Now my day consist of video games and constant worrying at night that he isnt drunk. I stopped going out with my friends too so that i wont embarrass myself since I got nothing much going on with my life.

I really dont know what to do. Should I leave and live with my boyfrie d? I am thinking of leaving next year so I could find a new job and hopefully improve my condition now. (And my constant crying at night)

But thats a selfish thing to do, leaving my mother behind. That means leaving my father's business (im just a clerk there). Colleagues have left the office leaving only me and my mum behind to help with the paperwork... but I really want to be selfish and leave.. seeing my friends being successful in life while Im doing nothing.. saddens me alot.

I would super appreciate if anyone who has the same experience and manage to help or get out of it, to share their way of solving this.

Job prospects with Diploma in IT

Is it worth studying Computer Science Degree instead and not waste time in Diploma in IT? I have very limited funds and time so that I wish to get a job asap. I like the idea of maintaining the system of a company than writing codes. Since I have cousins that live around one area, I have the privilege to live with them without having to rent, but this restricts me from enrolling universities in KL. But do let me know if Degree in CS is always a better choice.

Therefore, universities that are nearest to me are:

1) Sunway University - Diploma in IT
2) Segi Subang Jaya - Diploma in IT
3) Inti - Diploma in Information & Communications Technology
4) Taylor University - Diploma in IT
5) MMU - Diploma in IT (quite far from my place of living, will avoid unless all the options failed)
6) APU - Diploma in IT (I do not like wearing formal everyday to college, worst is that it's at least one and a half hour car ride away, will consider only if all the options failed)

Which university should I choose? I have heard about the bad reputation of Segi, so I would like to confirm if it is still valid up until this date.

What about the job prospects? I like being in the IT support area. Of course if given opportunity, I can explore other areas such as software engineer, programmer, web developer, network admin etc. Can a diploma holder in IT go far?

IT entry level career without IT qualification

My friend got into a company as an IT support trainee without any relevant qualification. I myself have interest in going into IT support but I don't have the proper cert and experience for that. Most of the IT support jobs require at least diploma/degree or few years of experience.

Has anyone tried going into this industry without any qualification and still doing great?

Corrupted BIOS or bad motherboard?

Hi, im a computer noob so please bare with me.

I have a laptop that gives a constant 1 short beep while booting up. Monitor blank, keyboard, and fan are on. From the Dell website, this indicates a bad bios checksum error. Does this mean it needs a bios flash?

But sometimes (very low chance), it can boot successfully into Windows, like nothing has happened. This means the bios itself is not corrupted right? I want to avoid flashing the bios.

Until date, I still cant get past the POST. So my question will be, should I try flashing the bios first? Or just replace the motherboard?

Do you air dry your hair?

Hello, so I have been trying out air drying my hair, which means you don't blow dry it after washing your hair, you let it dry by itself. I tend to have frizz after I blow dry my hair.

But air drying has created DISASTER for me. My hair STINKS and grease were all over my hair after the next morning. Has anyone had the same experience as me? What did I do wrong?

Applying internship after graduation

I have finished my degree and currently self-studying ACCA P papers. I do not fancy Big 4 firms as I know my chances are slim, but I will still try to apply for them. I am interested in joining mid-tier. I would like to ask:

1) What are the requirements to be able to enter mid-tier accounting firms as an ACCA holder? (CGPA.. etc)

2) Do they look at past degree results? I got a second class lower, which did not meet their usual second class upper requirement. What should I do to improve this?

3) Do I still have a chance to apply for internship instead if they decided not to reply me?

4) Should I finish all the papers first before I start applying?

L> new laptop with SSD

Hi all, I am currently looking at Acer Aspire F15 F5-573G-556W. Basic spec:

Intel Core i5-7200U
4GH DDR4 RAM
128GB SSD + 1TB HDD
Nvidia GT940MX - 4GB

These specs are good enough for me but I have found review saying that its screen is dull and the colour is abit off. It's a turnoff for me as I need to do photoshop work. I do some coding and minor gaming too.

If anyone owns the F15 Acer model, may I know what do you feel about the screen display/colour? It would be great if anyone can recommend me other laptops with similar specs. My budget would be around RM2k-3k +-
