Is water resistant Apple Watch 2 a joke?

I got an Apple Watch 2 on Thursday from Machines in KLCC and was excited I can swim with it and track my progress. It died immediately when contacted with water. I surprised even water went inside the device. You could see it is coming out from the edge of the screen!

I went to Machines shop and ask them a replacement and they said, it's a device damage and we can't do anything with it. I wonder I am donating 270$ to Apple and got nothing back?

I wonder Machines calls itself a "premium reseller" but acts like very low level shop when it turns to customer support. It was my mistake that I didn't got it directly from Apple Store online and went to the machines. I bought my Mac and iPhone online and is the best to do. You don't need to deal with these swindlers. I wonder if Machines gave me a damaged device or a refurbished one!

There is a solution for you guys if you face the same thing with the Machines in Malaysia. Call the Apple Support Asia or International.

And most importantly be careful when you wanna buy an Apple Watch 2. It is IP7. It means it can only resist in 1m in shallow water in less than 30 min. All the ability to swim with it and resist up to 50m is a lie.

PS:
This is what they show off in Apple Official Website:

Water Resistant
Splash. Surf. Swim.
Apple Watch Series 2 is rated water resistant 50 meters,1 so you can leave it on when you’re in the pool, the ocean, or even a hot tub. Since a speaker can’t be sealed because it needs air to produce sound, we reinvented ours — it lets water in, then uses sound vibrations to force it back out.

And this is a tiny shallow note at the bottom of the website:
Apple Watch Series 2 has a water resistance rating of 50 meters under ISO standard 22810:2010. This means that it may be used for shallow-water activities like swimming in a pool or ocean. It is also safe to wear it while showering or in a hot tub. However, Apple Watch Series 2 should not be used for scuba diving, waterskiing, or other activities involving high-velocity water or submersion below shallow depth.

https://www.apple.com/apple-watch-series-2/
