They really making it hard to find isn't it, trying to dig through the website fine print, tnc still cannot find them.
They put the number right on the Work at Home plan as 100GB (for specific applications?) but didn't state the number for other plans. This is really confusing.

the fineprint also say hotspot is "promotional". This... how would I know if it's actually available before I even buy it?
I will be using this purely on PC, don't want to throw in the money to just not get the service I expected.

I want a clear answer to these questions if anyone with experience with these plans:
- FUP amount for this "Unlimited" plan
- Hotspot FUP amount if different from regular FUP amount

how to buy things from China website?

I need to buy some stuff from China's website, not physical objects, but digital assets used in 3D modelling.
The problem is, I can't figure out how to pay for those...

I aware that WeChat pay despite is the same name, we cannot use our WeChat pay to buy things in China,
as doing that will require a different WeChat pay wallet that tied with a China bank account.

I looked up Alipay and found some website describing it more for tourist usage rather than online purchase,
stating the registration require passport (which I actually don't have cuz I don't travel), as well as 3 month limitation usage. Huh?

UnionPay? Rarely heard of this, I looked it up and there are some company offer registration for international user, but again, passport...

Anyone have better clue of any local convenient method to solve this issue? Thanks.

Let just say,

if I just woke up from decades of coma, don't understand this world, scared of this world,
how do I even survive this freaking world?
but then again what's the point of 'survive'? we all going to die eventually anyway.
everyone just out to 'get' everyone else, for what.

either way, what do you think if there way to generate some income / job that don't involve:
- dealing with people
- using the phone, I have allergic
- teamwork
- capital, no I don't have money
- using face, I don't have one

boring / repetitive is fine, unconventional time is fine, midnight is fine.

never the 'fit in' type.
always felt like alien, that's why I don't really want to deal with people.
dealing with people always resulted in weird, awkward, disastrous result.

Looking to mirror PC screen to phone

Looking for software that allow easy Wi-Fi screen mirroring / remote from PC to android phone.

So far I tried:

- LetsView : this is ALMOST ideal except you had to move the PC's mouse cursor around on the phone, instead of just touch anywhere I want to click... Thats annoying.
- Microsoft Remote Desktop : nothing happens at the desktop side when trying to connect
- TeamViewer : same as above, trying to connect to desktop's ID result in nothing happens or infinite loading on phone app
- Splashtop 2 : after al those sign in and email bullshit it can't even find my desktop, wtf?

Any other solution you guys can recommend?
I not using it to do anything crazy, just want to mirror the screen to my phone to play some simple point and click games.

What does a Phantom Power actually does?

"it makes the sound better" doesn't really explain anything tbh.

I got a BM800, actually just for the kids to do online meeting, not for video production; but the fact that it didn't works 100% nicely kinda bugs me to no end.
So I am thinking of getting the Phantom Power everyone talking about. (some do suggest about wiring my own power solution but I'm no good with electronics works)

Currently plugged the BM800 directly to PC, if to get clean audio without all the hissing,
need to set to somewhere around 80% level and +20% DB boost.
anything more will produce hissing.
But this setting also means I need to talk really close almost kissing the mic to actually produce okay sound level.

So, the question is - what does the additional 48V from phantom power actually do?
- does it improve the gain so it is possible to use the mic at longer distance, don't need to put my face right up to it?
- but if it improve the gain does it pick up more background noise & causes more hissing?
- some seller also say " phantom power does not enhance the microphone sound quality and improve the normal volume " ... now you confuse me, then what's the reason of Phantom Power?

Not sure where to begin...

I'm bujang okay so it's not really my problem, but seeing the performance of my brother's two kids really makes me wonder - "you guys will be in deep shit"
Not that my situation is anywhere not shit, so I don't really have the rights to criticize them openly;
but the lack of going to school definitely makes them far more... what's that word, "reclusive"? introvert? They are really quite when trying to communicate with them.
They are loud when playing with each other, but trying to talk to anyone else... geezuz it take a lot of effort to make them mutter 3 words.

How long has it been that they didn't went to school properly, 2 years?
One at darjah-2 suddenly is darjah-4 now, if not mistaken.
One in tingkatan-1 suddenly is in tingkatan-3 now.

Until just last months, they NEVER went to online classes as far as I know.
Not that they don't want to, there is simply no infrastructure available at our place. So they mostly just do schoolworks passed from whatsapp/wechat or something.

Only just recently I bought whole lot of equipments & shits to share my Digi Infinite 150 LTE with them, so they can finally starts going to online classes.
Obviously that impact my ability to use the internet comfortably but what the hell.
Connection here isn't super fast, just 20~25mbps ish, suffice enough.

Still, I only seen the younger son going to online classes for things like Chinese language & English language only. Not sure if there even any e-classes for other subjects.
Not entirely sure if the elder son even goes to any, last I heard no one in his class bothered.

The real question I want to ask is : what does the government even think about fixing this education problem in the future when things gets better? Not so soon things will calm down I suppose, probably 2025++
There are so many others that aren't even fortunate enough to have internet access, let alone a phone/PC, nor do they have the IT knowledge to pursue e-learning...
There are few really passionate teacher of course, really care about their students and literally doing absolute everything he can to help them-
you seen the news about teacher bringing whole class of student CROSSING MOUNTAINS in pedalaman Sarawak to get cell signal?
Certainly a painful situation for many.

As soon as the pandemic started and schools started to shut down for months on, it got me thinking - what's stopping the government / people to reroll their kids to the original darjah/tingkatan they missed?
Eg: if you supposedly tingkatan-2 during 2020, when school finally open full time in year 2025, you will repeat tingkatan-2 again.
WHY must we force them to advance their darjah/tingkatan, or even graduate when nothing has been learnt? It doesn't make sense, at all.

I really only see this one way out - JUST REPEAT the original darjah/tingkatan where they left off.
Anything else I really think just half-arsed solution.
E-learning cannot fix the problem, too many still not doing it. I doubt the percentage of classes/students currently running online learning even reach 5%.

And going to school isn't just about trying to get AAAAAAA, I hate it when parents pushing kids to get A's and care about nothing else.
It's the SOCIAL aspect that matters the most. And I failed that aspect terribly - regretting about it now when you grown up and realize that, is already too late.
Back to earlier what I said, that two kids almost cannot communicate with other people, their language capability is severely terrible - not just in speaking, but also in writing / typing.
Can you believe that they don't even know 汉语拼音 (han yu pin yin) input for Chinese, their main language? Instead they just had the habit of using handwritting on phone.

Geezuz crisis I was trying to teach them how to use computer and was really shocked at their language level.
Now I had to go way back to the basic to teach them primary-1 汉语拼音 (han yu pin yin)... not even English yet, that would be an even bigger hurdle.

Why am I even doing any of these omg. Sigh.

SERIOUSLY GOVERNMENT, JABATAN PENDIDIKAN OR WHATEVER, JUST PUT THEM BACK TO DARJAH/TINGKATAN WHERE THEY SHOULD BE WHEN SCHOOL FINALLY CAN OPERATE NORMALLY, OR MAKE THAT AS AN OPTION! WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?!

How do we access the USB stick plugged on a router

I had enabled Samba & DLNA on the router's setting page
created a user account for it

I looked on some manual and online discussions that mention accessing the drive with the following methods:

- start > run > \\192.168.8.1
yes that's the IP my router uses - but PC say cannot access...

- on windows explorer run this link: smb://192.168.8.1/_samba_user_accout_/_password_/
instead I got this:

- I had enabled the SMP modules in control panel > add/remove windows feature & restarted PC, same thing still happens
- double clicking on the "Huawei Router" on the Network Infrastructure on win explorer only brings me to the router main page 192.168.8.1... I seen some video of people just accessing the storage through there, but why I got jumped to the router main page?

Speed slow or bad reception faulty sim card?

I tested multiple phones in question with my Digi Infinite card and they perform just fine, so the signal issue isnt due to broken phone.

There are 3 hotlink prepaid sim cards:

- one perform just fine, speed is great ~15mbps LTE about right at my rural area
- one perform kinda bad around 1mbps on LTE but frequent drop severely, best it can do 2mbps
- one perform horribly bad, LTE isnt even available anymore for whatever reason, speed and reception on 3G also horribly bad even if standing outside house still hard to get 1mbps

All three hotlink prepaid sim tested on exactly the same phone but vastly varying result. Whats going on? Broken sim? Bad account? They all still have quota and using the same internet plan.

Ok i just realize another thing, their plans are 'internet & pangillan tanpa had 7 hari 3mbps'.... But then why the first sim perform over 10mbps...... EHHHHH??? At least that is what I get from speedtest, didnt test other websites.

Those arent my cards and i am not well versed with hotlink these days. Are all these issue simply caused by exhausted hidden FUP?

My DLink DWR-932C E1 appear stuck?

Mifi model : Dlink DWR-932C E1

Problem : after power on it just stuck there doing nothing, with celullar LED appear red, cannot even power off, had to force off by poping the battery.

The reset button also did nothing, it is unable to turn off or reboot itself...

Since the WiFi isnt on at all, it cant be accessed with IP address.

Is it dead? Sigh...

While there are firmware files available online, how on earth do I actually flash it without the access to 192.168.0.1? The device also acting very strangely when connected via USB, it's "cd drive" just keep on appear and disappearing...

The gas output area is steel enclosure not sure how to dismantle.

Usually the ceramic (or was it cast iron?) type we simply lift it up easily to clean.

This steel one I no clue how to dismantle The black gas-out round unit cannot be lifted up from it's base, seems to be clamped in together.

Just randomly browsing around and stumble on some tutorial about using Google Clound VM for web hosting;

I have successfully set it up after some struggle, despite having absolute zero knowledge about Linux

Now I just wonder if anyone have advice about using this cloud platform for webhosting, the pro and cons, etc.

I do plan to put a life e-commerce wordpress website onto it - as the current 3rd party server I rented was OMG CRAZY BAD performance...
So yeah I want to migrate server and now I found out about using Google Cloud as a choice.
I take this as consideration option, primarily because it's CHEAP...
although I have no clue about it's actual cost just yet, there is an estimate given when creating the VM but... people say it pay per use. I totally don't have much clue how the pricing will be yet.

Obviously the biggest issue I noticed now is the lack of CPANEL.
I used to do some stuff in CPANEL such as transferring file, managing SQL and updating SSL...
Without it, I'll need to see other alternative (so far found alternative for SSL already using CertBot).
Need to look into SQL later, currently I just set up the database account via command line, following the tutorial.
I haven't look into FTP either... will need to do some research.

Is there other management option other than CPANEL, preferably free

Anyone got advice or pointing out some important issue regarding using Google cloud VM for web hosting?
How is the overall performance using the lowest spec VM, only for low traffic wordpress site. And pricing/yearly cost example if anyone have?

Let say we got a factory building want to be built.
The document is just for design purpose, NOT structure engineer document. Also not for the purpose of council submission approval,
it is purely to present the idea of the building, so the structure engineer can work on the details later, and contractor have a mean to calculate the costs.
So it will consist of general floor plans, elevations, sections, some typical / simple item details that don't need engineer to decide,
also draft in 3D & some rendering for presentation purpose.

How much will such a thing typically costs?
