Thumbdrive write protected a virus ?

I'm using 1GB innodisk (the really small one) ... one day i was copying files and all of a sudden the thumbdrive was write protected. I couldn't edit anything in it or even format. There is a hidden auto configuration file that runs some auto run programs which i do not know what is it but i'm sure it is not system files. Could it be a virus or something ? Anyone came across this problem can help me solve this ? My thumb drive now is completely useless because of this .. please help. Thanks
