New rig for casual usage

Hi there. I intend to build a new rig for normal usage. Mostly to watch movies/videos, a bit of gaming (PC games), multitasking with a lot of windows open, surfing the web. I don't need a mouse, hard disks, dvd drive or a monitor. Max resolution 1680 x 1050.

Was thinking of getting:

my cat got hit by a car and died. it was my fault because i'd delayed neutering him. enough said

looking for a kitten to fill up that huge void now. mom has decided to get a pedigree cat and warned me not to pick up any strays anymore.

my sayang was an active and playful fellow who 'attacks' and annoy us no end. so i am looking for a breed that has the same temperament plus affectionate and smart. what should i get?

anyone wanna socialize with my dog?

In short, i think my barney lacks socializing skills. Am afraid of letting him sniff at the gates (even though the dog inside looks friendly) as its hard to predict what the owner will do (what if he runs out and scold me?)

Brought him to a park but there are only kids and adults there, no other owners walking their dogs. sob.

also to tell you the truth, i find that some people are very protective and wary. they might think that I am up to no good approaching them with my dog.

so any takers?
