Graphic Issues

Hi PC Experts,

A few months back I have to changed my MOBO and since my last MOBO was kind of classic, i have to change my RAM and GPU as well. I however retain my old CPU, HD and others after being tested are still running ok.

I have to reformat my C: partition since changing the hardwares and i have to reinstall my Flight Simulator and some other 3D games although i kept most of the files in other patitions. Everything works fine on my new upgraded system except:

1) Frame rate sudden drop. In Microsoft Flight Simulator Game i managed to get 23-25fps and after a few seconds it'll drop to 2-3fps and goes back up to 23-25... it happens every 5 seconds especially if i'm flying in highly dense areas (more GPU processing perhaps?) and its pretty annoying.

I;ve followed the improvement tips in XP, Defrag, but still no +ve effects.

This is worst than what i used to get with my old GeForce5500 graphic card and 1GB of RAM.

I understand i dont have the best CPU but after this 'upgrade' i guess i should at least get slightly better results not worst. It sucks!

My current PC specs:

P4 - 3.0 Ghz
2 GB Kingston DDR Ram
Asus EN8500GT GeForce GPU 256MB
Asus P5GC-MX MOBO
160GB Maxtor HDD

So far i've:

a) Perform clean windows install and reformat to check on virus
b) Update to the super latest drivers
c) Use nHancer to control the GPU

None of the above works.

Is this has something to do with my GPU? Is 8500GT that bad? Could it be worse than an old AGP card of mine 5500FX? Does 8500GT has issues running a DirectX9 Game? or on Windows XP platform?

Any help appreciated!
