Driving license without going through agent

Is it possible?

To get driving license without going through driving school/agent?

These days, government services are getting more transparent and convenient.
Alot of which no longer requires "AGENT".

Roadtax renewal, driving license renewal, number plate registration, ownership transfer...
These can be done easily through online portal/quick visit to JPJ (some still through myeg but alot easier and cheaper)

I wonder:

Is it possible to register for driving license without going through driving school?
1. Register with JPJ? Buy some kind of form?
2. Book own training session?
3. Schedule test session with JPJ?

I refuse to believe that driving license cost so much.
