IMU MBBS

I've been accepted for the intake this month.

But by tomorrow noon I'll have to confirm my choice of pathway, either PMS Graduate or Local IMU.

I know in the ideal PMS Graduate is better than Local IMU by leaps, but the non-ideal part is the financial issues.
My sister and brother's tertiary education are soon to begin, so the nearly twofold tuition is actually quite taxing.

Anyway, when trying to determine the quality of IMU Local's qualification. I heard examples like some seniors have upon completing USLME, secured specialty training positions in US with the local IMU qualification. Is that true?

Is there any IMU Local students, especially 3rd , 4th and 5th year students I can talk to?

Thanks

Hi,

Has anyone cooked sushi rice before? The Sumo Rice brand?
I've never had a successful one, it's always overcooked to a glutinous state, or half-done, then it all ended in a mess.

I set the rice cooker into sushi mode, this time I wanna try using normal mode.
Anyone can guide?

Thanks

Fibre vs Carbs?

Hi, I'm back again. On the 2nd week of my diet.

Anyway, a gym owner told me that I'll have to eat more to lose more fat, which he implies Veges and Oat. (Am I glad to hear it, I've been on a 2 eggs, 2 tomatoes diet for 2 week, luckily I'm still alive....)
And I wonder if Oat is completely fibrous? The nutrition label on Quaker reads Carb and Fibre in 2 values, and even if it's a complex carb, it's still a carb, which is quite a no-no for me now.

I know fruits are out of the picture since it's mainly fructose, which converts into fat.

Thanks

Is Tosai healthy?

Hi,

I remember that Tosai is one of the choices for weight-watchers at my school days, along with Daal(with vegetables) only.
So no way is Roti Canai healthy in terms of fat and carb, then Naan wins in the no-fat compartment relative to Tosai I guess, bcoz it's baked, but I have a notion that the carbs are way higher than Tosai...

Gosh if this one is out...my only luxury during my hair-fall treatment(no salt and msg) and cutting(no carbs and BAD fats) is ruled out...I'm better off grazing. But better safe than sorry I guess...
Or, it's only healthy enough to fit in a cheat meal?

Thanks

A top Australia school, or a US school?

Hi, I'll probably be looking at an Art or Business program, so if I were given these 2 choices. ahem.

Monash, transfer might be able to reach ANU(group of 8).
ADP() to, say Wisconsin-Madison if I work very hard.

I know that a direct comparison between these 2 according to the Times university ranking is not precise in the way that LSE is way below Monash, or US is better than Australia after all because their selection procedure is way more stringent? Or maybe If I would like to do my Masters in US later, I should do my degree in US?

And, dont attempt to say:"Who are u to choose", I know it sounds stupid for asking without any substantial action, just, need advice.

Thanks again.

Novelist.

Hi, it's me again for the umpteenth times... Pretty much lost here.

All right, it's known that there are 2 types of novelist-to-be, talented, or dedicated. Maybe a 3rd one talented and dedicated, anyway.
Let's assume I'm neither the first nor the third.

That if I'm treading the rocky road with dedications, I need vast knowledge, something from psychology(human development, personality studies), something from English literature(traditional and contemporary), something from writing(creative and professional writing and journalism), or even History, humanities...
So which course is the most important? Or is it determined by my preferred writing genre? Like Dan Brown probably knows alot about History and theology.

And even if there's a course to my need, I'll assume it's going to be that sort of open courses, insecured, years of lousy paychecks for a grand novel debut.

Before you're suggesting that I'm naively shirking to be decisive, I hope to have gained the understanding that yellow brick roads that lead to the emerald city are countless, but not totally possible, like, ahem...
Those who urged me to take MBBS(Go be a Doctor LA, you can OSO write at ur free time MA)....duh.
Even the combination of courses is dazzling, example, B.A or B.A in English, then cert, diploma or M.A in creative writing.

But I do heard of more cases which they accomplished through, teaching?(most common), journalist(another common case), or some not-so-demandingly occupying jobs.

Now, did I leave out anything? (Dont flame me please.)

Thanks a lot.

Business and Commerce, International Business

Hi, I'm asking this on behalf of my friend.

He's planning to take a Bachelor in Business and Commerce, probably majoring in International Business or Marketing.
So, is there any significant differences between these schools?
He's planning to do it local, so I think there's no better choices, is there?

Thanks

[addedon]July 14, 2009, 12:47 pm[/addedon]Hello?

Writing.

Hi guys, I'm looking forward to do writing.
But, I'm really vague about it, so I need some guidance?

Correct me if I'm wrong, or additional info please?

1) The 3 degrees that come closest is English Literature, Creative writing and Journalism. But, I'm not really interested with all that reporting, broadcasting stuff, so, temporarily Journalism is the lowest priority, albeit it's the most securing option.

2) My Dad told me that the expansion of this career is immense, like politics ( Jon Favreau?) Fiction&non-fiction, or stage and theatre.
So, is there anywhere( website) that I can explore the options? Example: The recommended undergraduate studies for the respective careers, Screenwriter, speechwriter, or novelist?

Thanks I really need help here, need a kick-start cause it interrelates to so many further options.

(ps: I cant really find what Jon Favreau did? It's a BA, maybe with Politics, but I cant find anything about the major?)

Thanks
