Gaming in 4K feasible? Rig recommendation

I've managed to get myself a nice 55" 4K TV, and I'm planning to build a gaming rig that can play most modern games at that resolution. According to a couple of my friends, it's basically not feasible now as graphic cards still can't handle 4K gaming properly.

What do you guys think? Should I wait a few months for better graphic cards to come out? If not, what rig do you guys recommend? I have budget of up to RM10k for the rig, but don't want to waste money unnecessarily if it's not worth it right now.

Satria Neo - Adding Second Player

Hi All,

I was thinking of adding a second player to the car. It's a Satria Neo, which comes with the Blaupunkt player that can play MP3s. I wanted to a player that has USB/Bluetooth support, though.

Thing is, I don't want to lose the ability to control volume using the buttons on the steering wheel (that comes with the Neo by default, if anyone's unfamiliar with it). I read somewhere that the Blaupunkt has an AUX in, so my question is: - can I put in this new player, but have the audio go into the Blaupunkt player? That way I get the new player's functions while retaining the steering wheel controls.

Anyone know if it's possible?

Yes, this is ANOTHER recommend me Thread :P

Sorry

I am planning to get a new desktop pretty soon, but the options available in Low Yat are killing me Would like to be a good game machine, should be able to play current games at max graphics. It's also needed as a decent media player, want to try to wire it to my flatscreen / sound system

The PC needs to be future-proof at least 3-4 years, since I don't really change PCs very often (my current PC still Pentium, ) I'm sorta noob at this thing, but: -

- Prefer Intel i5 (or i7, if it's in budget)
- Don't need mouse/keyboard/speaker/LCD
- System to run on Windows 7 64bit (will get ahem version, no need to include)
- HDMI out for graphics card
- Digital sound coming out from... uhh... somewhere? does onboard soundcards / HDMI graphics card have these? Gaming / movies in surround sound
- Single graphics card will suffice, but option to crossfire in the future would be nice
- USB 3.0 (future proof the rig leh...)
- Must play Diablo 3... (sorry, joking)
- Budget about 3 - 3.5k.

Thanks for your

Recommendations on a 5.1 Home Theater System

Hey guys, I'm looking for a 5.1 channel home theater system. Specifically, I need one that has HDMI in and out port. I'm not looking for high end receivers or anything, just in-the-box stuff.

After a bit of shopping around I've found an LG set that does that, but not sure how's the quality like Don't remember the model number, but it has these fancy tall speakers that look like champagne glass. Does any other brand have this sorta thing and not be ridiculously expensive? Budget about 1-2k.

Sub-3k Gaming Rig Suggestions

To the Sifus of Recommendation Thread,

I'm planning to upgrade my crumbly old PC soon, and want your advice on what kind of specs should I be looking at.

- It'll be mostly for gaming, some minor internet and video encoding
- Plan to straight away use Windows 7
- Don't need a monitor, sound system, dvd-burner, mouse or keyboard; will cannibalize those parts from my old PC
- Don't plan on OC'ing, dunno how to
- Budget of RM3000

With all that in mind, how good a gaming rig do you think I can build?
Help Me Decide on a Wireless Router!

I'm a fairly heavy BT user at my home, and my old router (an old netgear 614) works okay, but usually needs resetting every few days. Now my brother is starting to get into BT-ing as well, and I've upgraded to a 2mb streamyx line as a result.

But now the netgear just CAN'T take it no more!

It's disconnecting almost constantly the moment two of us start BT-ing at the same time.

So I've decided to get a more robust router. Anyway, based on what I've surveyed on the forums, these three seem to be the best choice: -

Buffalo WHR-G125
- No complains by anyone so far, maybe because not many people have it?
- Most recommend the 54 series, but can't find those anywhere, so going for the above model since it's available everywhere
- Heard the custom firmware is not bad
- Never heard of this brand at all?

Linksys WRT54G
- Almost everyone not recommending a kerbau recommends this
- Have read that has an overheating problem, could affect me since I do occasionally do BT-ing for 24 hours straight
- Heard Linksys is gonna be GONE soon?
- CISCO brand

Belkin Wireless G+ Mimo (or just G)
- Lifetime warranty FTW!
- Saw a few complains about hanging, overheating etc.

I'm not planning to flash to custom firmware (don't dare to, don't wanna brick a brand new router) so I'm using the default firmware for the moment.

Priority is STABILITY; my modem is two floors up from my room (blame the lousy wiring), so don't want to keep running upstairs and restarting.

The wireless part is less of a priority, just thought it might come handy since I have a couple of laptops at home.

So, what do all you sifus here think?
