Macbook Pro Glossy screen vs Matte screen

Hello ,

I've been mulling over the decision to choose between the glossy screen option or the matte screen, for Macbook Pros.

I've done some research over various forums and i've gathered that most existing users are griping over the problem that the glossy screens easily produces irritating reflections even in "normal" ambience, for eg like coffee shops, normal study room lighting, day light from windows , etc.

The opinion or experience that i'd like to gather from this forum is , in fact not regarding the reflection issues as above, but i want to know especially from Macbook Pro users of the Matte screens variation, have you or have you not observed that :

- The colour reproduction of Matte is more accurate than compared to glossies ?
- Apparently, the gamut range on the orange and red channels are kinda moderately easily blown on the glossy screens, do the Matte screens have this problem as well ?

Or any other inputs that you may have in regards to glossy vs matte for Macbook pros , are certainly welcomed.

I do photography , although not product photography, but at least 90% of colour accuracy is what i'm aiming for when i'm delivering photos , so it's important for me to know from your experiences if you know there are differences in this respect between those two screens.

ps: Given the comparison between the two different screens are calibrated "correctly" using at least a colourimeter like Spyder Pro 2 .

Celcom xpax BB problem ( no youtube / no WAP!)

Thought i'd post this here to share with you my current problem and see if anyone could suggest a solution.

Like many others i've got the RM888 celcom xpax(prepaid) blackberry curve 8520 deal. Now enjoying the 30 days free Blackberry Advanced (which is same thing as RM2.50 per diem after the 30 days trial)

Problem in summary :
Not able to access WAP streaming / WAP data / TCP

ie: may load http://m.youtube.com page fine , but when click on video thumbnail, popup window will ask to access WAP for streaming, click OK, and video will ALWAYS fail to load.

i've also got one very unpopular chat program which i often use, this chat program uses WAP access instead of BIS. Therefore i am not able to login or use this chat program on BB at all.

My tinkering :
Now if i were to check if a device is properly configured for WAP access, there are basically three things :
- APN name ( 'celcom3g' for postpaid , 'celcom' for prepaid )
- APN gateway ip / port num
- username/pass if any.

Celcom sells the RM8.50 sim pack together with the RM888 deal, the SIM card was a 3G sim card although the device is only up to EDGE.
However i have phoned up Celcom careline a couple of times to ask for details to connect to WAP. They are either clueless or elusive ( even after them checking with Technical support and coming back to me , they will never let me talk to tech directly even i've repeatedly requested).
In verifying which APN name should i use, according to a slightly knowledgeable cust serv on the phone, she said the APN name for my prepaid 3G simcard (even for a device which is only up to EDGE) would be 'celcom3g' , however she then quickly said that please leave the APN name in blackberry device as empty ( as per factory default ). I then asked her if the gateway IP should be set as 0.0.0.0 as that's what it seems to be in my blackberry service book. She said that should be correct as that's the standard service book sent to every customer. It's highly doubted that her info regarding 0.0.0.0 is a "correct" setting , as we all know it sounds ridiculous.

If i go to Options - Advance Options - Service Book , there is one entry which is the WAP2 Transport[WPTCP] . In there the Gateway IP, port are all zeros. I have tried to goto Options - Advance Options - TCP/IP setting to change the APN name to 'celcom' , tried youtube streaming again = failed. Changed APN name to 'celcom3g' , tried youtube streaming again = failed. Well it's pretty much expected as if the WAP gateway is 0.0.0.0 .... it's pretty much a joke.

Please check my attachments , they show the Service Book entry for WPTCP ( not editable in phone ) , and TCPIP ( editable for APN name ).

After some googling i've got hold of the gateway IP(10.128.1.242),port(8080) of Celcom's WAP, but there's no way to edit the WAP gateway in-phone, so i went around googling for something called IPDEdit. Basically over the official Blackberry Desktop Manager ( BDM) i can create a backup file and transfer to my PC, the file is *.IPD which is a binary file, it contains everything which also means Service Book is in there. With IPDEditor (http://darkircop.org/bb/) i can translate the *.IPD binary file into XML format which is quite readable, and the app also translates back the edited XML back into IPD so you can import it back into BB device using the official BDM. However i'm facing a stumbling block at editing the XML content because it seems that the "appdata" item is required and i have no idea what should i fill in there.

** Important note : After i've used BDM to create the IPD file, inspecting the content i've actually found the CORRECT gateway IP and port in the file itself (i haven't done any changes yet) !! Now why is this 10.128.1.242:8080 within the file content but is hidden from the view of Service Book entry ( service book shows 0.0.0.0 ) . Do i smell conspiracy ? Are they doing this on purpose ?

Question to ALL :
(1) If you are able to view youtube streaming content over BB Curve 8520 using CELCOM prepaid 3G SIM, how did you manage to ?

(2) Are there anyone out there with the same device + same telco + with a Service Book WPTCP entry which is showing the gateway address 10.128.1.242:8080 instead of 0.0.0.0 ?

(3) Or generally anyone who had been through what i've found and had more clues and guidance on how to get this solved ? Any hints or sharing is greatly welcomed
