Crazymouse, still remember Caltex? He is a beautiful boy now, minus ticks.
But these few days he has been pretty weak, doesn't even jump up and down when it comes to walks. Eats very little, but he seems to be fine except that he looks very down. His nose isn't as we at before, could it be that he's having a cold or something?

 Please help.
... Job Hopping ... ...

Here are two sources regarding job-hopping in our country...

:: DO NOT JOB-HOP ::

Najib: Stay loyal to companies that train you

BY TUNKU SHAHARIAH

GURUN: Stay loyal to the company that trained you - this is the reminder from Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to skilled workers.

He said they should not job-hop for better pay after acquiring training.

"These workers should show their gratitude by giving their services to the company," he said when opening the RM21mil Naza Kia Academy (NKA) at the Naza Automotive Complex here yesterday.

Also present were Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Mahdzir Khalid and Naza Group of Companies chief executive officer Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin SM Amin.

Najib also warned companies not to "pinch" workers trained by another firm, noting that job-hopping by workers in search of higher pay was one of the investors' complaints.

"This will not increase the number of skilled workers in a particular industrial sector.

"It is better if all financially strong and big companies allocate money to set up training academies so that the number of skilled workers will increase, and this will reduce the tendency of workers to job-hop," he said.

Najib also said the Government would work with industries and institutions of higher learning to address the "skills mismatch" problem.

He said the "mismatch" of skills in the workforce and what was needed by local industries had contributed to the unemployment of more than 60,000 local graduates.

"The country is facing a severe shortage of knowledge workers and skilled blue-collar workers. This mismatch, if not addressed, will affect growth," he said.

:: DO JOB-HOP ::

[Better for employees to job-hop, say experts

PETALING JAYA: An employer's organisation and two job consultants feel that job-hopping is a healthy practice, as it will mean the best man gets a particular job.

They said labour mobility should be encouraged as it could stimulate the economy.

The Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF) said it was in the best interests of the nation and the economy that people be allowed to move from job to job.

Its president Md Jafar Abdul Carrim said a wider perspective of labour mobility was needed and it should, in fact, be encouraged.

"This means that the best person gets paid the wages he deserves, and this in turn will stimulate the economy to greater heights," he said when contacted.

Provided employees had served their bonds after receiving training, he added, they should be allowed the flexibility to move.

Jafar was commenting on the advice by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on Saturday, telling workers not to job-hop but show gratitude by staying with the companies that had trained them.

Aspac Executive Search Sdn Bhd managing director Cheah Eng Kong concurred, saying the "pinching" of workers involved simple economics.

"Companies will use whatever it takes to get talented people. Whoever can pay for that talent will attract those who are talented," he said.

There was, he added, nothing wrong with workers wanting to move.

"Imagine an employee who is stuck in a company with no career path even though he is trained.

"It would not be good for the country or the economy should there be rules limiting labour mobility," he said.

Cheah said it was also the responsibility of companies to find ways to retain employees beyond just training them.

Workforce consultant S. Kanaga said people moved because of pay, career development and the working environment.

"If these factors are not right, they will move. They will no longer be excited with training and loyalty if the employer does not look after their welfare. It is difficult to resolve this problem because loyalty cannot be bought," she said.

Unfortunately, she added, companies often did not increase a worker's pay after providing training as the employee had not gained the experience to justify a higher salary.

"They go somewhere else because their certificate is recognised there," she said.

URLS:
http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=...6207&sec=nation
http://202.186.86.35/news/archives/story.a...7570&sec=nation

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was a little peeved when I read that in the news recently. With rising petrol prices and cost of living skyrocketing, have workers not earned the right for a better-paying job? T__T

What do you think about job-hopping? Personally I don't do it for fun unless situation calls for me to do so...

... Leave Entitlement: What DOES it really mean...

Ok situation's like this: I got 12.5 days left of annual leaves this year, which is my entitlement right? I recently tendered my resignation on 1st March 2006 and I just got a letter today from the HR dept. saying I only have 5 days left!!! WTH?!?

Their excuse was that I am no longer gonna be here till December that's why I only get 5 days out of 12.5 days of leave so far. But thing is, according to my Employee Handbook, it says:

"The Company may require employees to exhaust their annual leave during the notice period..."

So what exactly is my entitlement? I am given 10 days of annual leaves this year and how exactly do they divide 10 days among 12 months??

Need someone to clarify with me. Thanks. >_< Am in deep shite. So furious now.

-Suet-
