short freezes at random interval

so i just bought my new CPU and here's my rig :

intel i7 920
gigabyte ex58-ud3r
6gb triple channel kingston
palit ati radeon 4870 dual fan
lg dvd-ram sata
WD green power 1TB (3 partition & master)
2x seagate IDE 320gb
OCZ 700w PSU
windows vista ultimate SP1 (32-bit)

so the problem is :
I noticed after a few days short freezes at interval when I'm working with anything. the first time it occured to me is when I tried to access one of the hard drive in the IDE connector so i thought it has something to do with the disk having some bad sector problem. so i formatted that disk and the formatting failed. so i replaced that disk with a spare brand new disk. and thought problem solved. but it appears that i'm still getting the short freezes at random intervals not just when accessing the IDE drives but when doing anything. sometimes i see it once or twice a day (so far i encountered it 4 times). it last only a few seconds and will recover without problem but it's bugging me a lot especially since this is a new CPU.

I'm going to get 64-bit vista and i will be formatting this partition soon. but still, I'm not sure if this is a software or hardware problem.

any help?

Streamyx registration faulty

all right... this is one unique case on my side.

I registered streamyx under my friend's name for telephone line (i'm foreigner) and my name for internet line. I registered for 1mb line that time. And a technician came to install my internet and all that stuffs. What i got was 2041kbps downspeed and 509kbps upspeed.

I dont think much of this at the time. untill suddenly my bill came and stated RM460++ for internet bill. I was totally shocked and checked at the customer service. and guess what? they said I registered with 4mb line. I was shocked but cant find the registration form wherever i searched. I even called my friend who holds the telephone line name and asked him to make sure. he was absolutely sure it was 1mb line that i registered with.

I checked to the TM agent i registered to and this is the solution he came up with :

I'm to go and cancel my internet account only to TMpoint, I'll be asked to pay the remaining charges of the internet usage. and i'll put that on my bill. once the bill come to my house i'll have to write "sudah pindah" (already moved) on the envelope and put it back to the post box without opening the envelope. and he will go and set up another account under someone's name in that same phone line and to fix a new internet connection. for this, i cant use my name anymore on TMnet. which doesnt matter much to me. this is because once the connection is set up they cant do anything about this. I have to continue on this connection for one year before i can downgrade it.

what do you guys think about this matter? my concern is how far will TMnet go to find me. because what i'm asked to do is like running away. I dont want problems in future regarding this matter. and I dont want silly money problems either.

well even now i'm still trying to find my registration form... sigh*

streamyx downloads

Hi guys... Here's my case

I'm using a 1mb line of streamyx with aztech dsl600er

the problems is when I'm doing direct downloads from europe and USA servers. (not sure about others but these 2 are what i tried)

I usually get 200kbps max download speed from both. but since 1-2 days ago. the speed occasionally turned down into 10kbps max. the 1st time i realized it happened for around few hours and it's back to normal after that. It happened few times already and I keep my eyes closed since it came back to normal anyway. but now things has gotten somehow annoying for me since it occurs so often now.

I tried using multiple download accelerators and download from multiple servers to make sure if the server itself is down. but no... I tried 3 servers and all downloads was capped down to 10kbps. And i tried the TM speedometer thingie and it says no problem (i still get hundreds kbps download rate there)

And not to mention my BT is running slow always. (5kbps around 5-11pm, 20kbps around 2-7am, and 0 download rate around noon)

These have annoy me for a while now. so i'm wondering what happened here and hopefully someone can help.

thx.
