Role: Application Support Engineer

As a Support Engineer, you will be responsible when Atlassian customers such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Audi require technical expertise/solution aiming for the greatest customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities:

*Working with our customers to quickly resolve any web application issue within the Atlassian stack.
*Empathizing with our awesome customer base to help them in tricky situations.
*Finding and reporting bugs to our development team.
*Working together with the global team to solve customer facing issues.
*Continually improving our processes and documentation.
*Sharing knowledge on solution so customers only face problems once

Requirements:

*Good communicator in written and spoken English
*Application logs are your partners in crime when troubleshooting.
*Demonstrated experience troubleshooting within a Java Runtime Environment.
*Demonstrated experience working with Application Servers (Apache, Tomcat, etc), SSL, Proxy.
*Demonstrated database and SQL experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc).
*Experience working with various operating systems (Linux, Windows, Mac, etc).
*Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Solving problems is what keeps you motivated.
*Passionate in working with customers.
*You are a process improvement advocate. You love Agile and the LEAN methodology.
*Comfortable to work in the EMEA shift hours (3pm to 12am) or APAC hours (7am to 4pm).
*Open to weekend and holiday rotational schedule within the team.

Big plus if you have these:

*Experience debugging or administering web based applications especially J2EE.
*You can troubleshoot problem by analyzing and stepping through source code.
*You know JVM Performance fine tuning in Enterprise scale (jackpot).
*Development and/or Scripting experience in a major language (e.g: Batch, Java, Javascript, Perl, Python, PHP, Ruby).
*Database ninja. Complex SQL queries and stored procedures, or DBA experience.
*Experience dealing with user management like LDAP and Active Directory.
*Virtualization knowledge is an advantage.
