Sharing my Puspakom inspection experience

Carried out the inspection at one of the centers in Klang Valley. Was unable to enter due to the "casual contact" status on MySejahtera. Was very quickly approached by a runner to HELP with the inspection. After driving the car in, the runner demanded RM200 to ensure the car passed the inspection. Later, the sum was reduced to RM150, but I refused to pay. Ensuring my car is safe for my passengers is more important to me than paying these corrupt people. However, the runner still demanded RM50 for his services but could not ensure the car will pass the inspection. Having no other choice, I paid the runner for his services.

As usual, the car failed the rear brake inspection but passed the rear absorber and front brake inspection. Now I took the car for rear brake repair to my friend's shop. He said the brakes are already adjusted to the max and there is nothing much to be done and he pointed out the front brake pads are 95% worn off and how can the front brakes pass the test while the rear brakes are in good condition fail? He also noticed the rear shock absorber badly leaking and questioned how can the rear shock absorber test pass?

The efficiency of the brakes is directly proportional to the amount of force applied, the tester can simply decide to reduce the amount of force applied and fail the brakes. This test is very subjective?

Would you buy a property now?

If you already have 3 other investment properties under finance generating positive cash flow monthly, and there is another property below market value, would you buy if the bank has approved your loan and that property will also generate positive cash flow as well? Given this current situation, rental might be an issue.

Samsung J7 Prime GPS signal drops off

Hi guys, posted this question in the mobile phone and tablet section but no response. Did a search but could not find any similar threads as well. Hope someone here can help.

My Samsung J7 Prime GPS signal drops off and then comes back after a few seconds and some times after a few minutes.

This is particularly inconvenient when using Waze. The GPS signal also drops when using Maps.

Did anyone encounter this type of problem before? Can you help to share how you got the phone repaired and what was the cost?

Thank you in advance.

Laptop speakers

Have 3 laptops now with distorted speakers. Speakers seem to be overdriven and unable to handle low frequencies.

1st laptop Toshiba, replace the distorted speakers, with original replacement speakers. The sound was still distorted even after a fresh windows installation. Eventually replaced the laptop
2nd laptop Acer, did not bother to do anything to fix the problem.
3rd laptop Dell, replaced the dead speaker with original spare, the spare speaker is also now distorted.

My question is all the laptop speakers quality this bad? Any way around this? Thanks

Quality and reliability of Asus laptops

I'm looking for new student laptop. In the past I've always used Asus or Toshiba laptops.

I would like to know how is the quality or Asus laptops now compared to 3 or 4 years back? Most of the shops tend to recommend Acer, HP or Dell with an I3 processor which I have no experience with.

The laptop would be used mostly for student work and light video editing. Thank you in advance.

Bought an item through Shopee

Bought an item from netel_official_store.my through shopee malaysia.

Item was not shipped out in time as required by shopee system, therefore the order was canceled automatically. Upon contacting the seller he eventually accepted that it was his fault for not shipping out the item on time and assured me I would receive my refund within 3 working days.

Its been about 3 weeks now and I've not seen a single cent paid to this seller through shopee. Shopee, when contacted, keeps on insisting I key in my bank account number into their system so that a refund can be initiated, but for three weeks I'm unable to do this due to Shopee's system that requires an OTP(One time passwrod) that will be sent to my phone. The problem is the OTP never arrives and I'm unable to update my bank account number on Shopee's system.

Shopee, when contacted again, keeps saying it will take 5 working days for their technical team to check on this issue. Very frustrating.

Do you guys know where I can escalate my complaint to? Thanks.

Toshiba 380M

Hi All.

As per topic, I have a Toshiba i3 M380 laptop with high CPU usage, most of time it is at 100%.

So far what I've done,

1. Clean the CPU heat sink, which was filed with dust and reapplied thermal paste in between the CPU and its heat sink.
2. Format and reinstall windows 10 Pro
3. Increase RAM from 3 to 6G.
4. Stopped a few high resource using apps.

However after doing all the above, the CPU usage is still high and the laptop hangs after 10 minutes or so.

I notice the CPU fan is blowing out the hot air but it is quite slow and wind speed exiting the laptop is not that fast. Could the CPU fan be faulty?

Thanks in advance for any suggestion or help.
Produa service center

Brough my Perodua for 40K service at an authorized Perodua service center.

Owners manual recommended a few items to be replaced. During pre-service briefing noticed most of the items were fairly standard assumed they would follow the recommendations of the owners manual.

After receiving my bill found out they charged RM68 for an acoustic insulation and transmission fluid was not replaced. When question, why they didn't, replace the transmission fluid, the mechanic said, my car mileage did not reach 40k yet, it was only at 38k. I argued with him and told him this is a 40k service and the transmission fluid has to be replaced. Also, questioned why they were fitting the acoustic insulation as this was an accessory while I came to service the car?

When compared the recommendations from the owners manual and my bill, noticed the spark plugs and air filter was also not replaced. Imagine running my car with overdue transmission fluid and having false assumption my car is healthy.

Even authorized service centers cannot be trusted it seems. Only brought my car there so that the warranty would be honored.

Thinking of signing up for a property investment coaching provided by this company.

Its a one to one coaching and guidance provided from beginning to end. Not classroom style, all practical.

They specialize in first home and investment property and have seen all their investment portfolio in the form of original legal documents. Very impressed with their investments which have appreciated over 100% over the past few years.

Better to spend a few hundred than lose thousands. What do you guys think? Thanks.

What additional insurance?

Would like to know what additional insurance I should get if I intend to use my car for ride sharing?

Some online insurance calculators have the options below:-
1. Legal Liability to Passengers (LLP)
2. Legal Liabililty for Passengers Act of Negligence

Should I pick one or both?

Is there any other insurance options I should opt for?

Thanks.

State of clinic kesihatan

Brought my one-month-old infant for her 1st checkup. I was referred to the local clinic kesihatan by PPUM.

Thinking that I lived in the most developed state in the country everything should be smooth sailing, but the state of the clinic and things there were simply shockingly poor.

About 50 people(I actually counted) cramped into a small waiting area where seats were way short. Even if they were to get new seats, there wasn't enough space. The environment was so stuffy with people coughing and sneezing I finally brought my baby out to sit in the car. Preagnant woman and mother's with babies in their hands standing everywhere due to a shortage of seats. The place was filled with cobweb and needs cleaning. The procedure to see the doctor was a total mess, despite the queue management system, names were still being called out from left and right. Don't know where to pay attention to.

Only mommy was allowed into the doctor's room, where she had to share the room with 4 other patients simultaneously. Daddy had to stay outside and could not know what was the state of babies health.

Today was a reminder that this country is still a third world country with extremely poor basic health services. I'm not going there again, but sad for the people who have no other choice.
