When we started AirAsia as a low-cost airline back in 2001, I never thought one day we would be selling our competitors. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s never say never. Never say never and believe the unbelievable. Today, with the help of Kiwi.com, we are reinventing ourselves as more than just an airline, bringing to life our vision for airasia.com to be the region’s one-stop travel shop.”

airasia.com Head of Airline Distribution Rajiv Kumar said, “In addition to the strategic partnership with Kiwi.com, which is focused on content and technology sharing, we are also exploring opportunities to partner directly with airlines and companies who complement our existing network and travel services beyond Asia Pacific.”

Powered by Kiwi.com, AirAsia’s website users will be able to book travel on more than 100 airlines to destinations currently not served by AirAsia, including Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East and the Americas.

Kiwi.com CEO Oliver Dlouhý said, “I’m extremely proud that Kiwi.com has been selected to power AirAsia’s transformation and its ambition to make airasia.com a leading travel and lifestyle platform. We have an abundance of airlines and ground carriers at our disposal and together with AirAsia and its enormous customer base, we are proud to be able to open their platform to the rest of the world.”

Spain_BIG_Pablo_KV_4X5_MY.jpg
To celebrate the announcement and its partnership with Davis Cup by Rakuten, which takes place on 18-24 November 2019 in Madrid, Spain, AirAsia has kickstarted a global marketing campaign featuring its very own Spanish Allstar, airasia.com Head of Product Pablo Sanz Salcedo

The campaign was launched at AirAsia’s global headquarters RedQ in Kuala Lumpur today to much fanfare with a promotional all-in return fare to Madrid from Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Jakarta and Sydney from just RM99/THB999/IDR333,000/AUD199* (USD25). A secondary promotional all-in return fare of RM499/THB4,999/IDR1,699,000/AUD399* (USD125) will also be marketed for guests who miss out on the initial fare offer.

Book the promotional all-in fares to Madrid, Spain on airasia.com on 16 November 2019 from 9.00am (GMT +8) for immediate travel until 31 March 2020.

The campaign comes off the back of the company’s reorganisation, which separates AirAsia’s airline operations from its travel and lifestyle arm, airasia.com. Since the reorganisation was announced in August this year, more than 700 Allstar staff have been recruited, and in addition to being based across Asia Pacific, a new airasia.com campus will open in central Kuala Lumpur early next year.

* Maximum 2 passengers per transaction. Flights are operated by third party airlines and available for booking from Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Jakarta and Sydney on 16 November 2019 only. Kiwi.com terms and conditions apply. Available for booking on web only.

Cipet x dpt.. Whoever got it must be pro keyboard warrior. Gone in seconds.

Do you think that there will be any software update to enable the previous generation of MBP (Penryn with Multi-touch) to enjoy the "feel" of four-finger touch which is available on the latest MBP models?

* EDIT: There isn't any software update for this YET, however, there is a hack available here: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=GErmg4wSfJM

Cheers!

BAD Experience with MacStudio Service

Dear Apple lovers,

I would regrettably tell you that my friend and I have bought two MacBook Pros (MBP) from MacStudio in Low Yat Plaza (Maybe we are the only two unlucky customers). When a problem persists which can be claimed by the Apple warranty, they will only give you ONLY ONE SINGLE REASON to decline the warranty claim - "It's your own fault not to take care of it properly. Bye byE~" Here goes the story:

1) My friend's LCD Eject Button's silverish aluminium colour faded off only after three months normal usage. She did not scratch it purposely to claim for a new MBP. Who would do that to your RM7k+ property? Common sense please... She brought it to MacStudio and asked if she could get that part replaced. Imagine your RM7k+ property get this cosmetic issue in just three months of normal usage. The guy brought it into their office and let their so-called technician to have a look. He came out and said, "Sorry, we could not claim the warranty for such problem. It must be you yourself who scratch it with something. If not, this will never happen." He didn't even try to help their customer with the problems.

2) I thought that was a minor problem, so I proceed with my purchase when the first Penryn-based MBP arrived in MacStudio from Singapore. Due to time constraint, I just had a quick glimpse at the new MBP and accepted it. The guy who served me just opened the box and let me see it, then closed it. When I went back, I saw a small crack at one of the four edges on the MBP battery. I took my MBP and went back one week after my purchase. Of course, I seek for that guy who served me, let's name him Mr. A. I pointed that crack for Mr. A to have a look and he told me, "That day when I checked, everything is OK one. It must be you who have dropped it on the floor or did not open the battery in the correct manner. This one we cannot claim for warranty." Note: He didn't even look at my MBP, just busy with my credit card transaction.

3) More problems! I saw the cable's skin near to the Magsafe Adapter got cut one morning and was able to see the silver wires inside. Besides that, something inside the adapter has melted because some "yellow juice" at the small opening of the adapter's "legs" (where you use to tidy your long cable) is visible. Trust me! This is not done intentionally by myself! (Thus, please don't ask me how I do it, I DON'T KNOW!) I brought my MBP together with the problematic Magsafe Adapter to (again) MacStudio. Once Mr. A saw it, he told me straight away this is not covered by Apple warranty. At that instant of time, I was wondering: What on Earth is the Apple warranty used for? For display only and tell your friends you got ACPP? (I was very frustrated) I insisted him to bring the adapter to let his technician to have a look. Minutes later, he came out with the same quote: "Sorry, this is not covered by Apple warranty. Someone must have tripped over your cable which can cause this wire problem. I never seen such thing before. And you see this yellow thing (pointing towards the yellow juice), you must have drop some water on this adapter. Even one drop will cause this juice to come out. (WoW! ) Or maybe you drop this into a pool of water. Apple will never give warranty to accidents caused by customer themselves. How can you claim for warranty if you spoil the thing yourself right? If you want a new one, it will be RM399" blaH~

I was extremely pissed off at the after sales service they offered, so I went to the EpiCenter @ Pavilion. I asked a guy called Mr. Rubi (with a shivering voice ), "Do you think I can claim a warranty for this MagSafe Adapter?". He replied, "Sure, no problem! Just leave your name, contact number...". It was like a totally different world in EpiCenter! It suddenly feels like heaven... All the Machines outlet also have their professional and friendly customer service personnel there whom is always ready to help - Customer is ALWAYS RIGHT!

The conclusion is: Never ever buy a single piece of laptop from MacStudio! I didn't expect to receive such a bad after-sales service in a PREMIUM AUTHORIZED Apple Reseller outlet. A new motto for them: Customer is ALWAYS WRONG.

P/S:
- I don't know about other products other than the MBP. You can try it out if you want to.
- Luckily Apple computer can be serviced anywhere around the world, as long as your warranty is still valid.
- We bought from this PREMIUM AND AUTHORIZED Apple Reseller instead of Machines or EpiCentre due to:

Me - They have their first Penryn-based MBP in Malaysia; a matter or urgency.
My friend - Attracted to their Christmas Promotion last year (Add a few hundred ringgit for an upgrade to 3GB Apple Certified RAM)

Had anyone ever successfully claim a single warranty for their MBP from MacStudio?
