Need some help to configure my TP-Link (WR1043ND) to work with Unifi after flashing it with DD-WRT.

I don't need the IPTV, because I don't use it. Just the internet working would be really great.

Or is it not possible to use dd-wrt with unifi on this router?

Got a letter registered for Income Tax Number

Hi,

I have a question. For the last 10 years I have been working with a company based in Europe and paid in USD. I live in Malaysia and every month my income is remitted into my foreign currency account with a local bank. My employment contract is under my company's international contracts division based in the Isle of Man, UK

As I understand if I do not earn my money from within Malaysia then I am not required to pay tax. I don't have any form of income in Malaysia at all.

But some weeks ago I received a letter from LHDN saying that I have been registered for an Income Tax Number. Why is this? Why now? Does this mean I have to start paying tax?

Credit Card Debt

Hello LYN,

I need some help in deciding what to do regarding my dad's overdue CC debts.

He has always been the quiet type, never share his problems so we as a family were completely unware how bad it has gotten.

Anyways his health hasn't been that great so finally he asked me to help me manage this. I was shocked at the amount of course but I would like to try and help him.

My question is since we have been getting letters from lawyers/credit collection agency regarding the overdue amount, should I just directly deal with them instead of going to AKPK to try and negotiate a reasonable payment plan on our behalf?

Any advice would be appreciated

Help! Should I reschedule the 2nd interview?

Hi guys,

Desperately in need of an opinion here.

I have been asked to come in for a 2nd interview for a position that I am extremely interested in. It's a position I've been coveting for years and thankfully I have managed to get an invitation for the 2nd round of interview.

My problem is.. well I have a 10 day vacation trip overseas coming up next week and the interview is smack dab in the middle of it!!

This vacation has been planned months in advance (since last year to be exact, months and months before the job posting even went online) and I have spent a boat load of money on flight tickets, hotels, car rental etc. It's much too late to cancel the trip now, I also have to consider my friend who's coming with me as well, she also has asked for time off work and spent the money.

I have actually already told the HR person right after the 1st interview that I won't be available on the dates 11-21st April due to the vacation, she assured my that it would take them some time before they get back to me about my results. She also mentioned that a teleconference is also another option for the 2nd interview (some ppl from Norway will be interviewing me as well)

Well to my surprise they called just after 3 days and asked if I could come in to the 2nd interview on the 14th.

I proceeded to explain to them the situation about my trip and how it's not possible to cancel because I would not be able to get any refunds whatsoever. I told them that I am willing to come in earlier if need be and then they dropped a bomb saying that the VP of Operations of my company will be in KL next week (11-16 April) and he would like to personally interview the shortlisted candidates (ARRRGGGHHHH!!)

So obviously I'm in a real dilemma now, the VP guy is actually not in KL specifically for interviews (he's here to visit some vessels) but since he will be here, he would like to take the time and meet us in person.

My options are:
1. Cancel my trip and attend the interview. Of course I'd lose a ton of money (I don't think they're kind enough to reimburse me), probably ruin my friendship with my best friend for a good chance to get a job that I've been gunning for since some years ago.
2. Explain my situation to my potential manager, beg him for a reschedule so that I can teleconference with the VP guy when he's back in Oslo. Tell them if I am successful I would be willing to start immediately. It's just a very unfortunate coincidence that I vacation is clashing with the interview.

So yeah.. that's the whole story. I'd really appreciate any feedback from the good people here.

Thanks in advance!

My mom won't let me move out

Hi guys,

Am hoping to get some reasonable opinions and advice here. I am almost 30 years old, financially independent and currently am living with my parents. I bought a house about a year ago. I've finally decided that I want to stay at the new house with my best friend (she will be paying rent to me). I have always wanted a place of my own so that I can have the freedom of having my own space (have friends over, make up the spare room into a library/reading room and etc). My mom however does not want me to move out. It's not that I don't like spending time at home, it's just that room is getting too small for me and my stuff (there is literally no more space for anything left), plus I am an adult for crying out loud? I work hard for my living and I don't see why I can't have the privilege of living in my own home? Living with parents also means I have to ask permission from my parents for pretty much everything.. want to have friends over I'd have to run it pass my mom first, want to host a BBQ party? Need to get green light from her as well.. even a small thing like hang up a picture in my room I'd have to get an OK from her as well if not she'd go ballistic!

My new house is only 20 mins from my parents house! I can come by and visit all the time, plus it's real close to my mom's office. I told her she's welcomed to come and stay over any time. I even said I will make up a the guest room just for her and my dad. All I want is to have my own space and freedom of living in my own house.

Am I being unreasonable here? I do not intend to abandon my parents, far from it. I have repeated told them I'd come and visit every other day for dinner and maybe even sleepover every other weekend. But my parents (my mom especially) is really2 against it. I really don't know what to do now, I really don't want to hurt my parents feelings but like I said I am a full grown adult and I have some rights on how to live my life.

Don't I?
