M3 Vs Tab A 2017

On a scholarship. Provided rm1500 for laptop, going to use it to buy a tablet.

Going to use this for Word, Excel, PDF, ebook textbooks and Spotify. No gaming or photography.

I've done my research and narrowed it down to these two.

Please help me decide based on durability and features (better software, smooth transition between apps and split screen, etc).

I'm only considering the M3, not the M3 Lite.

Thank you very much.

How to buy land?

Hi, I'm 20 years old and am a complete newbie to the real estate game. I'm interested in learning how to buy unfurnished land due to my high school teachers's story about how she regrets not buying land in my housing area when she had the chance. She stated that she could've bought land for RM200, and sold it for RM6 million now. I'd like to ask where I can buy land from (is it from Land and Survey Department, industries/businesses, private owners, etc) and how to sell. Just the basics so that I have a rough idea. Thank you very much.

What degree "supposedly" makes the most money?

I just told my former tuition teacher that I got a scholarship to study Medicine (as per my father's wishes since I was a kid), and Mr P (the teacher) told me that it was a bad move, that I should study business.

Now I've done a lot of research, and yes I've discovered that business graduates on average make more money (MBA graduates become CEOs, Bachelor's holders open their own businesses, etc) than doctors (especially now that it is saturated, extra long hours, less than satisfying pay).

My dad (a lawyer) has just been pressuring me to become a doctor because his brother became one and is loaded now. Beyond that, he really hasn't done research, and when I show him my findings, he gives me replies like "You work in the private sector" or "You open up your own clinic" etc.

I'm more inclined to believe my tuition teacher, who graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Science, but has since opened up his own tuition centre (which rakes in over RM500 000 a month) and makes hundreds of thousands from property investments. His career has nothing to do with science.

So I'd like to open the floor, to anyone to share their personal experience with their chosen degree/reports and statistics regarding the pay of various degree graduates. I know it's impossible to get a direct answer as to "which degree makes the most money", but I'm just looking for bits and pieces of advice that I can collect to make up my mind.

Thanks!
I have a friend who wants to become a secondary school English teacher, does anyone know what's the path she should take? She's Chinese and sat for her SPM in 2016, if that's of any importance.

Someone I talked to said that she should go through form 6 first, then go to UPSI, then she'll be able to work as a secondary school teacher.

Is it possible to go through a private university like HELP or SeGi, Bachelors in Education then teach in a government school?

CUCMS student life

Hi dear LYF-ers, I might be attending CUCMS this year, enrolling in the Foundation in Science course. Can anyone tell me what the student life is like there?

Some of the questions I have include
1. Hostel rules and regulations
2. Are lecturers strict/lenient, overall quality
3. Is the campus life fun? I.e. student clubs and activities, I play futsal and football a lot, is that popular there? I noticed there's no field or court on campus, so do the students play nearby?

Thanks!

Medicine/Psychology

I want to study clinical psychology (Bachelor's in Psychology then on to Masters in Clinical Psychology), but my dad says its better to take MBBS and then go on to specialise in psychiatry, as then at least I'll have MBBS to fall back on in the event that I decide Psychology/Psychiatry isn't for me.

But I'm rather reluctant to take MBBS as I know I'm not strong enough emotionally to go through the 5 year course then 2 years housemanship. But my father has a good point. Can anyone help me with this please?

CUCMS or IMU

Hi all

I was offered a scholarship to take Foundation in Science and on to MBBS, but I can choose to change my degree later on, and I'm planning to take Psychology. The university they attached my scholarship to is CUCMS, but I'm allowed to change it (yes it's odd, I know). Here's a few questions I have

1. Which has better facilities? I.e. Which campus size/ location is better, more classroom, etc I'm not sure what to look for in a university's facilities, please don't bash me. (I kinda prefer a larger campus as I tend to feel like a "katak di bawah tempurung" if I study in a small institution, I felt that way through secondary school.)

2. Which has better lecturers? This is a tough question to answer as obviously no one has had the chance to study at both, but if graduates of both CUCMS and IMU could give me honest feedback about their lecturers, that'd be amazing.

3. Which uni has a better learning attitude among students? I have been given the impression that IMU is a rich kids' school, therefore one might expect the students to be more laissez-faire in their studies (not judging), and CUCMS is rather new and doesn't have such a reputation

4. What's the average race-ratio in both unis? I'm not racist, but I prefer a more diverse university. I heard IMU is mainly Chinese, but I have no idea about CUCMS. I have Chinese, Indian, Malay and native friends, and other races too as I'm of mixed parentage and English is my first language, therefore I have never been bound by my own idea of race as I feel neutral due to the fact that I speak a ethnic-neutral language in Malaysia.

5. Does anyone have any information about graduates' employability (especially for Psychology graduates) ?

I hope y'all can bear with my long post, I just am at a crossroads really, to either take CUCMS or to ask if I can transfer to IMU considering I have a lot of time before the deadline passes. I'm not planning to apply to HELP, because I want to keep the option of MBBS open too. Thank you very much guys, hope to see some great replies
