Need Small Advice From All Working Veteran

Greeting lowyat forumers.

I just wanted to have a second opinion on my current situation.

Previously went for an interview at HSBC Cyberjaya as Global Support Call Center and TGS Entreprise Sdn Bhd as Technical Sales Support Consultant, and both company has extended their offer to me.

At the moment, I'm not quite sure which company to choose:

1) HSBC Global Support Call Centre

Salary: RM2400
Allowance:
-RM 100 once finish training,
-another RM 100 after learning Premier Product,
-another RM 100 once finish Corporate Training,
-RM 400 if doing night shift.

Benefit-Standard health and dental benefit.

2) TGS Enterprise Network Sdn Bhd - Technical Sales Support Consultant
Salary: RM 2000
Allowance:
-RM 600 travel allowance (once in a while need to meet clients do presentation)

Benefit
- Standard health, optical, and dental benefit, covered for whole family.
- Phone bill claimable
- Car maintenance bill claimable

So, between these 2 job offer:

-In term of salary opportunity, HSBC is offering more compared to TGS. But from what I read in the forum, career growth is almost non-existent if you are doing a call centre (despite the fact that the Hiring Manager told me there's even an opportunity to become AVP as a call agent in HSBC). I also heard that once you started as a call center agent, its hard to find a new opportunity in other field/job scope.

-TGS is a smaller telecommunication solution company, offering slightly less than HSBC, but from what I see, being a Technical Consultant allow me to branch out easier into different department and provide me with better career growth in the future. The only challenge is that I have no prior experience whatsoever in being a Technical Sales Support, so I need to read more to met their expectation.

So, in between these 2 job, I'm more heavily inclined on accepting the Technical Support Consultant position, since I THINK it would provide me with better opportunity in the future. But my work experience is not that abundant to make a good judgement, hence I would like to ask a favor from fellow forumer on giving me a 2nd opinion regarding this issue.

Situation: I'm planning to buy something for my gf's birthday. So, when I ask her bff about this, she suggested that I bought a sweater from Animal Boutique in Pavilion.

Problem: I'm not sure how much is the price ranged for the product at Animal Boutique. I try to ask around but it seem that nobody have even been there >.<
I currently live in Shah Alam and have been busy with work and final exam, so the only time that I will be free and can go there to check it myself is on 4 December, but it will be too late by then because my gf's birthday is on 6 December.

Sooo, if anyone who have been there, could you please tell me how much is the price ranged for females clothes that were sold there? It will be a big help for me because if I can prepare the money on advance.

University of Science and Technology Malaysia (UTM) Animation Competition 2008

The Competition
University of Science and Technology Malaysia (UTM) in conjunction with Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation is pleased to announce its animation competition for 2008. We are looking for talented individuals to produce original and imaginative animation (no more than 10 minutes). It should aim to deliver a message, or in other words, contain moral values. The competition judges will be looking for skills in the development and communication of a strong concept likely to influence the general public.

The Prize
Grand Prize : RM3000.00 + Certificate
1st Runner Up : RM1500.00 + Certificate
2nd Runner Up : RM750.00 + Certificate

Competition Entry Guidelines
• The deadline competition entries is 25th July 2008.
• The competition is open to all Malaysian of all age.
• Applicants must submit a completed animation and competition application form.
• The animation must be no more than 10 minutes (though it is recommended to make it short, like 60-90 seconds TV advertisment)
• Contestant can send as many entries as they want
• Please keep copies of your entries as we cannot guarantee that your entry will be returned.
