Hi folks, looking for some help in tuning this query to execute faster:

Note:
PTRVW_LOAN_BALANCE is a normal view which have no index, this view derives from other tables which each of them already have index
Index already created on ptracc_loan_ledger table

Its execution time is not consistent, but the avg is about 8 sec.. and max at 14 sec. Fastest is 1 sec but most of the time it will still be longer than 8 sec.

Is there any way i can rewrite this query better to speed it up without creating materialized view, updating stats, etc..just seeking a better rewrite...

simple solution for shopping cart website

Hi Masters,

can you suggest me some solutions as i would like to setup a shopping cart website to sell clothes online ( currently running the business thru facebook and taking orders/deal with shipping+tracking numbers manually).

The requirements are simple:
1) Must be able to integrate with localbanks (m2u,cimbclicks) seamlessly - thinking MOLpay at the moment, as thats the only one i know easy to setup and no need coding, same as ipay88 - just they have charges ( which i am willing to pay if there is no such free alternative, would rather pay than deal to be merchant with bank - too much hassle)
2) Noobproof on coding (if possible would like to have the setup for non IT person - so just go update catalogue, etc and focus on business not on fixing the plugin or anything
3) Plus point - all in one solution ( hosting, payment gateway, shopping cart all together)

I actually interested to do a wordpress shopping cart, but not sure if can easily be integrate with localbanks/MOLpay/ipay88.

p/s: i can actually do coding, at least until shopping cart ready but not sure on integration with payment gateway and beyond. anyway i'm looking for a lazy solution.

The condition is ok, still new since just completed about 2 years i guess.

Is it considered under market price/ cheap?or normal? (cheap as in vs market price & sqft ratio comparison, not referring to my affordability).

Just wondering if there is an option which the user can choose to disable the "Replies to Me (BETA)" popup..(the one beside My Control). Sometimes i find it annoying especially when I want to click on My Control link but end up getting the "Replies to Me (BETA)" popup instead.

I need help on the tracking of FORUM (not topic). I can see that we can set the notification to daily, weekly,etc but i did not get any emails for those forums i subscribed.

I also subscribed to some TOPICS and their notifications are working fine, except maybe weekly haven't tested yet cause need to wait for a week.

Back to the FORUM tracking, I would like to track if somebody created a new topic in the specific forum, i would be notified (by email ).

embedded sql VS pl/sql or cursors in shell script

Found this after googling:
SQL is Structured Query Language used for DDL,DML.
PL/SQL is used for Cursors and Triggers .

Embeded SQL is used to embed SQL statements in
C,Cobol,Pascal,Foxpro like languages.
Embedded SQL - SQL statements are invoked from a host
environment like C/C++, Java or any other programming
languages.

I understand the statement, just wanna ask pro here what is the difference with invoking sql or cursors or pl/sql from shell scripts?

is it conceptually same?

can i say invoking sql or cursors or pl/sql from shell scripts - is embedded SQL as well?

may i know is it possible to pay car installment using maybank2u to hong leong bank?

usually i will go to cash deposit machine and pick hire purchase option to pay off my eon car loan..

trying to do it online from maybank2u..not sure which option to take..

i went to Transfers > New Interbank GIRO transfer > Selected 'Hong Leong Bank' > then comes to step 2 of 4.

Resignation problem: probation and bonding

Ok, here is my case. Need advice from HR experts.

I joined this XYZ company on 13th of May 2009. The contract letter states that 3 months probation and after that 2 years bonding.2 months notice for resignation(not sure probation period notice how long,usually can be shorter rite?,because it is not stated in the contract letter).

So i started working on 13th of May,days goes by until i later found out that the company is not like i imagined.Basically,the company sucks.And i know it is not just me,because a few other senior colleagues have resigned before me because they are not happy also.

Fast forward,i tendered my resignation letter on 20th July 2009.Do note that i'm still under probation period at this time.My supervisor wasn't expecting this because can say i did my work and remain a good employee from the start.So,he tried to address any problems i have that is making me unhappy.After some talks,we did not reach a solid conclusion because we couldn't agree on the things and because of dispute over bonding.So,that time i decided to just resign rather than waste my time on further discussions.The dispute is they say that i'm already bonded the moment i signed the first contract.But from my point of view,i'm still under probation.And also,i did not sign any confirmation letter.

To make things worse,just a few hours after i tendered my resignation with two months notice,didn't care that much if can shorten the notice period because i don't want to complicate things.(that is at 11.30am on 20th July),on that very same evening they showed me the confirmation letter.But the letter don't have any place for me to sign.It's like just to announce i'm confirmed.The other terms was to be referred at the first contract i signed when i joined.It was tempting because even though the raise i have expected that much,but they did offer to add additional allowance if i work overtime.But i said lets sort things out first,and they didnt convince me with their offer.I did not accept their offer,because i want to sort things out about my resignation first.Plus,technically,i already tendered my resignation hours before.At this point,can say i decided to resign no matter what they offer.

So the supervisor said let him forward this matter to boss first.Waiting for feedback from them about a week.I even asked the supervisor did he gave my resignation letter and he said yes.Ok,i wait for boss feedback.Nothing.
Yesterday,i asked the supervisor again,then ask what the boss says...guess what?they say i'm already bonded.

I was furious,but i kept my cool until now.

FYI,in the contract letter it is stated that after receiving training (on job/class) i'm to be bonded for 2 years,IF they decide to confirm me.
Yes,they did give training,but it wasn't what he promised(even if verbal promise) and what i expected.The training was just an in-house week training and conducted by the seniors only.And i really don't think that it justifies my bonding for 2 years,because when i ask him about the training prior to joining them,the boss says its an expensive and proper course training.even my colleague can confirm he said that.the kind we expect a certificate out of it.But i get none.

Later i will upload the clause of the contract which concern about bonding and resignation to make it more clear for u guys.

So, what the deal now? Any expert can comment?

edit:I also forgot to mention,this company DON'T have HR dept.the boss is the HR.

dell studio problem..OS related

hi all.

i wanna ask u studio users..any of u managed to sucessfully install and use *ahem* OS..(after format,not the preinstalled one that comes with the package)?

do dell give out original vista cds in the package?is the original OS cds included in the box?

bcoz after doing some reading in studio thread,some ppl have tis problem..

sumore 1 source say that dell have auto-activation for the OS built-in into the BIOS..so no need activation if install back original vista..
but this pose a problem if any of u format n decide to use *ahem* OS software from local cd shoppe.. and if dell does not include the original cd in the package..even worse..cannot even boot up the cd..coz ciplak 1..

have own expericence with studio 14..is this true?
