Which university for Software Engineering (SE)?

UPDATE 2:
Currently studying at Monash now.

UPDATE:
I've changed my mind to Computer Science (CS).

Hello.

As you can read from the topic, I'm currently seeking help on the matter of university choice for Software Engineering (SE). My apologies in advance for the very long thread. I also apologise if this has been asked many times before and it gets boring.

I've finished my A-Level at UCSI and has gotten the result which is just about average. The subjects I took are Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. The ones with the best grades are Mathematics and Physics; and the worst being Chemistry. The result goes by BBCE.

I've wasted quite some time thinking about what course to study and which university to enroll in. I've finally narrowed down my course of choice to SE (previously was thinking about Mechanical Engineering the most but I had second thoughts). The problem now is the place of education.

The current top choices on my list now are Monash and Nottingham but feel free to suggest me otherwise by giving me your reasons. From what I can gather, private universities like KDU, APU, MMU, UNITEN, etc come up the most in discussions regarding IT-related courses like SE. I'm also currently seeking private universities in KL and Selangor states only.

The following is my thoughts and knowledge on some universities in the top of my list.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Monash / MUM
- Almost the same distance like Taylor's from my home.
- Transport will also be similar to Taylor's but the shuttle bus service is free. The only problem is that BRT is a little expensive in addition to the LRT fare.
- If by car, similar traffic jam like Taylor's.
- Don't know about car park.
- Expensive course fees, way expensive.
- An Australian university.
- One of the only few universities to provide SE as a 4-year course as they put it under the School of Engineering, while others put SE under computing & IT school and faculty.
- Heard that it's very stressful but the lecturers are very good.
- (UPDATE: IELTS is only required for international students. Local students only need at least a C in 1119) Will have to take IELTS unless I want to destroy my finance by taking Monash English Bridging (MEB).
- Food may not be an issue but could be expensive. (?)

Nottingham / UNMC
- A bit far in Semenyih from my home.
- Possible by car.
- Don't know about car park.
- No LRT but has KTM (which I don't quite prefer). Has free shuttle bus service from the KTM station to the campus.
- Course fees are, yes, quite expensive but at least it's cheaper than Monash for SE course.
- A UK university.
- Don't know much about the lecturers but I assume that they're good similar to Monash.
- Didn't exactly meet their A-Level requirement but could be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Have to wait until September intake. This is not an issue if it's really worth it.
- Don't know about the food.

Taylor's
- Not that far from my home.
- If by car, will have to expect traffic jam sometimes.
- Car park I heard is still okay but of course I know car park is an issue in all universities.
- If by LRT, will have to spend a little more for the distance travelled and their shuttle bus service is not free.
- Heard that it's quite popular with computing & IT courses. (I need confirmation on this.)
- Course fees are little more expensive than common universities but still affordable by me.
- Offers dual degree with University of the West of England (UWE), UK.
- Not sure about the lecturers. (I really need more information on this.)
- Food may not be an issue but could be expensive. (?)

APU / APIIT / UCTI
- The closest university from my home to provide SE course.
- Thus, easy transport in terms of both car and LRT. They have free shuttle bus service, of course, both at old and new campuses.
- Not sure about car park but I heard it's an issue.
- Heard that it's one of if not the best in Malaysia in the areas of computing and IT.
- Have seen negative comments and reviews. Some regarding some of the lecturers in particular which could be a big problem.
- Those reviews state that certain lecturers did not teach well and did not give much guidance and materials and stuff and expect you to do things just like that. Super independent, in other words. (Do correct me if this is wrong.)
- New campus is coming in a couple of months according to the university. This is one of the things that troubles me the most as I heard they promised it for many years already but broke their promises many times and I don't know what the feeling of the new campus is like.
- Course fees are no issue.
- Offers dual degree with Staffordshire University, UK.
- Heard food is a current issue but the new campus could solve that problem. Still could be expensive.
- Heard that APU was better back then but recently not as good.
- Heard that admin is bad. (?)
- Government linked. (?)

KDU
- A bit far in Shah Alam.
- This is okay I heard but maybe not much on computing & IT courses.
- Cheap.
- Have to wait a while for the next intake in May.

Those are basically the universities that I favour the most. Others that are not so much are:

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

MMU
- A bit far in Cyberjaya from my home.
- Only possible by car.
- Don't know about car park.
- Quite secluded in Cyberjaya and hence, the issue with food.
- Course fees are no issue.
- Heard that it's very good in computing & IT courses.
- Feel skeptical about this as MMU is by Telekom Malaysia ™.
- Government linked.

UNITEN
- Cheap, I think.
- Heard that it's good in computing & IT but I feel skeptical similar to MMU as it is by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB).
- Government linked.

UTAR
- Cheap and quite a common option.
- Government linked. (?)

TAR UC
- Cheap and quite a common option.
- Government linked. (?)

UNITAR
- Cheap, I think.
- Have to wait a while for the next intake in June.
- Government linked. (?)

UniKL
- 4-year course for SE.
- Don't know much about this.
- Government linked.

UTP
- In Perak.
- No SE but has Computer Engineering (CE). There's a difference, I assume.
- 4-year course for CE.
- Don't know much about this.
- Government linked.

Limkokwing
- In Cyberjaya as well.
- It's Software Engineering with Multimedia. Not sure what the difference is.
- Don't know much about this other than I heard it's okay in computing & IT courses.

Infrastructure (IUKL)
- Don't know much about this.

That's basically it. Of course, there are some other universities but I have almost zero interest in them. Again, my apologies for such a long thread. For those of you who persevered until here, I really appreciate it.

The list is roughly sorted by personal preference. So I need help and guidance on this. You may notice that I tend to avoid universities with government link. APU may be one but I can still accept that.

If I have any wrong views and comments on any listed university, do tell me. I'll gladly accept any advice regarding this in terms of SE or IT-related courses from students, alumni, even lecturers or anyone who has worked at these universities, or anyone with any experience regarding these universities whether it be yourself or your friends and relatives.

I really, really do appreciate any willing help.
