Taxi drivers rushing to get their 1Malaysia Taxi Aid cards announced by caretaker prime minister Najib Abdul Razak today caused a stampede injuring several people.

According to Kwong Wah Daily, the situation turned chaotic when taxi drivers at the event rushed to registration counters to collect their 1Malaysia Taxi Aid cards.

According to reports, children and senior citizens were seen crying for help.

People's Volunteer Corps (RELA) and police personnel tried to control the situation by closing the metal shutters, however taxi drivers who were still outside kept trying to rush in.

Earlier today, caretaker prime minister Najib Abdul Razak has announced RM53.6 million worth of aid for taxi drivers nationwide.

The money will be used to provide 67,000 taxi drivers with 1Malaysia Taxi Aid cards, which allows them to pump RM800 worth of fuel.

So to better protek myself from this will-be new regulation, i ask around some expert kaki for some advice.

Facial recognition technology may catch a lot more in a photo than a winning smile or sparkling eyes.

Psychologist Michal Kosinski and his colleague Yilun Wang at the Stanford Graduate School of Business caused a stir last month when they suggested that artificial intelligence could apply a sort of “gaydar” to profile photos on dating websites.

In a forthcoming paper in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, the two researchers revealed how existing facial recognition software could predict whether or not someone identifies as gay or straight just by studying their face.

Comparing two white men’s dating profile pictures side-by-side, an existing computer algorithm could determine with 81% accuracy whether or not a person self-identified as gay or straight. The researchers used an existing facial recognition program called VGG Face to read and code the photos, then entered that data into a logistic regression model and looked for correlations between the photo features and a person’s stated sexual orientation.

Kosinski said it’s not clear which factors the algorithm pinpointed to make its assessments – whether it emphasized certain physical features like jaw size, nose length, or facial hair, or external features like clothes or image quality.

But when given a handful of a person’s profile photos, the system got even savvier. With five pictures of each person to compare, facial recognition software was about 91% accurate at guessing whether men said they were gay or straight, and 83% accurate when determining whether women said they were straight or lesbian. (The study didn’t include those who self-reported as ‘bisexual’ or daters with other sexual preferences.)

Alright, my friend (lets call him K) car kena bang by a teksi driver and its obviously at his fault.
K go report police and want to claim the other party insurance for the repair cost.
Mana tahu that XO teksi driver didnt go to report police.

Ask the foreman at workshop said K cant do anything and need to fork out own money for repairing.
Mostly pun police can only saman that XO driver for 300 ringgit and still can not claims under his insurance.

WTF.

Chinese developer Country Garden Holdings has closed all sales centres in mainland China for its flagship Malaysian housing project amid Beijing’s intensified crackdown on capital flight.
On Thursday, the South China Morning Post visited the project’s biggest Shanghai showroom on Tianshan Road, which only opened in October 2016. The gate was locked and the showroom empty.
A notice on the glass door said the showroom was “under renovation” but no renovation activities could be seen inside.
The Forest City project, covering 14 square kilometres of land on four artificial islands in Johor, Malaysia, was one of the best-known overseas properties among mainland Chinese residents due to Country Garden’s widespread promotion, including heavy advertising on state-owned television.
The development had been successful in attracting Chinese buyers by offering affordable prices and access to Malaysia’s visa programme for long-term stays.
A Country Garden spokesman confirmed with the Post that it had shut all the sales centres in mainland China for renovation, but said the move had nothing to do with China’s capital controls.
The spokesman estimated there were dozens of Country Garden sales centres in China, without giving the exact number.

To further curb capital outflows, the Chinese government in January banned its citizens from converting yuan into other currencies for overseas property purchases.
In the same month, Wu Bijun, general manager of Country Garden’s finance centre, who will become the company’s chief financial officer in April, told the Post that its projects in Malaysia had been affected by the government’s crackdown on capital outflows.
Alan Ho, a former sales agent at Country Garden’s Malaysia company, said about 90 per cent of Forest City buyers were from China.
Guangdong-based Country Garden, China’s second-largest developer, has four residential projects in Malaysia.
Initiated in 2013, the Forest City project faced many challenges at the beginning. The proposed massive reclamation at the junction of Singapore and Malaysia raised concerns on both sides about its environmental impact, and work was suspended in 2014.
China developer Country Garden expects 20 billion yuan in sales from Malaysia project this year

Construction restarted in 2015 with an expected investment of 250 billion yuan (US$36.2 billion) over 20 years and pre-sales were launched in 2016.
“We will develop apartments, villas as well as schools, hospitals, an exhibition centre and a financial special administrative region to achieve city-industry integration,” Country Garden president Mo Bin said at the time.
However, the Forest City project is losing its shine, according to Raymond Cheng, Hong Kong-based property analyst at CIMB Securities.
“The project doesn’t have much appeal to Malaysians while China’s crackdown on capital outflows will certainly slow its sales in China,” he said, adding that there probably would not be enough demand from Chinese buyers to keep sales going anyway.
Forest City has to date recorded contracted sales of about 20 billion yuan.
Shares in Country Garden slipped 3.4 per cent to HK$6.16 on Thursday.

Talking to oneself

Ayam had the tendencies to talk to myself since...13 yo.

Ayam is especially louder if he did mistakes and scold own self for not doing better. I will keep repeat the same sentences for doing better next time again and again.

This thing is natural and spontaneous to ayam which he couldn't really control.

Mummy keep remind ayam to change this habit since small but tend to ignore me now as ayam already a grown man.

I had a gf now and problem arise. She are surprise and said ayam is a crazy nut is having this habit. Ask ayam to change else byebye.

I dont think myself as crazy....or crazy people always think them self aint crazy?

Street Decor for Festival - WHO in Charge?

Im living in Selangor, Cheras and the main streets and pasar pagi have not even a tiny puny tanglung or street light been hang.

Mind you this week is the start of CNY already! where is the street decoration!

The only freaking thing i saw is the political people with big smiling face poster. Don tell me this is the decor! i dont want to remember your face = CNY.

I forgot since when there are no street decoration for any festival be it hari raya, cny or depa.

So who telan the money now? DUN Assembly man or Local Council? Who suppose to do all these?

3,000 claim cheated in Ponzi scheme scam

"KUALA LUMPUR: About 3,000 people who claimed to have fallen victim to a Ponzi scheme scam gathered at a hall in Sentul here yesterday, to take the next course of action.

The scheme was allegedly run by a former television personality and her husband, and five other people.

Also present was former MIC treasurer-general Datuk R Ramanan.

Speaking to reporters, Ramanan said the victims had decided to lodge a police report soon.

“Once the report is done, the next would be legal action against the alleged perpetrators. Six lawyers will guide and lead us on this matter,” he said.

Ramanan said to date, the total number of victims of the case stood at 17,000, adding that the scam involved money to the tune of more than US$100 million (RM446 million).

He said more people had come forward to claim they were cheated through the Ponzi scheme.

At a previous press conference on Nov 26, last year which was also attended by Ramanan, MIC treasurer-general Datuk Seri S. Vel Paari was reported as saying that about 300 people claimed to have fallen victim to the Ponzi scheme scam to the tune of RM2.2 million in losses.

He had also claimed the couple used the names of national leaders to influence and convince the victims to invest in the scheme.

On the same day, Kuala Lumpur Commercial CID chief, ACP Mohd Luthfi Ismail Abdullah confirmed receiving a report on the matter. — Bernama"
