N-S Expressway - such poor maintenance or none?

After some time of not using the NS expressway, yesterday I happened to drive from Tanjong Malim to Damansara Utama. What's this gov doing?

There were so many potholes all the way. The stretch from Rawang to Kota Damansara was quite bad and I was driving in heavy rain. I could sense the danger.

Is it due to heavy lorries? I noticed many patched-up spots have opened up again.

The gov doesn't care bcs PLUS is crony company? Or is it bcs malaysians are too complacent? Or bcs the politicians are asleep? Or is it bcs politicians and the gov is very busy busy busy with very urgent matters like NK might nuke us?

What's wrong with this country? Peoples' lives are at stake yet nobody is saying anything. I hope nobody uses the word DENGKI on me in this post!

Last year they raised the toll yet they don't maintain the condition 24/7. Don't they have maintenance crew to check on the whole stretch? Haizzz...what are taxpayers paying for? What are motorists paying toll for? If the situation continues it would become super dangerous to use the N-S expressway in a few months if the rains continue.

Non-stop publicity by Rozita Che Wan

By SYAHIRAH MOKHTAZAR - March 29, 2017 @ 1:45pm

SHE’S only 2 but Aaisyah Dhia Rana, the only daughter of celebrity couple Rozita Che Wan (or Che Ta) and Zain Saidin, has landed her own reality television show.

Aaisyah is one of the most popular celebrity kids in Malaysia, and attracts attention with
her fashionable and adorable looks.

The star in the eyes of many, she will also be the star Little Princess Aaisyah, premiering on April 12 at 9pm on Astro Ria.

Che Ta said: “Fans will get a glimpse into her life that I don’t often show on Instagram. I think the name of the show is similar to her character and personality,” she said at the launch of the reality show at Floral Terrace, Hampshire Place, Kuala Lumpur, recently.

So, what made the mother agree to Astro’s offer?

“While Aaisyah has been in front of the camera since she was born, there are times when she gets a little anxious when surrounded by many people.

“But, the crew knew how to deal with her, so that sealed the deal,” she said, adding that Aaisyah was comfortable enough to be herself during recordings.

Besides, she added, her daugther was easy to work with as she was not fussy.

“She follows what everyone around her does, so it’s pretty funny to watch her antics,” said the actress and entrepreneur, who has two sons, Ammar Effendy, 21, and Aniq Ezra, 19.

Viewers will see Aaisyah participate in activities she has never done before, like going to the zoo and a theme park.

Celebrities like Noor Neelofa, Jihan Muse, Nabil Ahmad and Marsha Milan will appear in the show.

“It’s not just an entertainment programme, it’s educational too. Che Ta and Zain will have a slot to share parenting tips,” said vice-president for Business, Gen Next Astro, Mohd Irwan Abdul Rauf.

Little Princess Aaisyah will also be available on Astro on the Go and Astro on Demand.

Looks like people like Che Ta never know the word "cukup". She's now using her 2 year old to gain publicity and earn money for her? We don't deny the child is cute and everything but at 2 she already could differentiate between one branded handbag and another the proud mother told the singapore New Paper (she could tell the brand instantly just with one look at 2 years old. Most adults can't even if they look at such bags for an hour). Is she being brought up to be ultra-materialistic like her publicity-hungry mom? What values is she cultivating in her 2 year old? Gawd...

Such so-called high flyers are just average earners so in order to live like the super rich they either sponge on others (everything get sponsorship, meaning others or the public pay) or they avoid paying taxes yet they could celebrate a child's birthday in such opulent style. After being disappointed she could not celebrate her daughter's first birthday in London of all places due to unpaid tax problems, she held the event at a very expensive hotel in KL. What does a one year old child know? She behaves like a prima donna the malaysian taxpayers must financially support by allowing her to avoid paying her taxes while normal malaysian work their asses off paying for them.

What's /k/'s views on this type of sampah masyrakat?
Selling old car

Hi all taikors at F&F,

I'm finally in the right frame of mind to put my old junk up for sale. I'm still not sure of one thing. Should the buyer pay me a deposit of RM1k or RM2k?

If after I've done the puspakom inspection which only lasts for 6 months the buyer for some reason decides not to buy the car, would it be fair to forfeit the full deposit or only deduct the cost of the puspakom inspection? I apologise for asking this silly question but it's better to be safe than sorry. I don't want to do anything "unfair" and at the end of the day cause unhappiness to others.

Also I would be very grateful if any taikor could recommend me a good website where I can advertise my car. I understand that some websites will automatically advertise our ad in a few other sister-websites. Is mudah.com a good place to put the ad?

TQSVM for whatever help I receive.

New Year 'thank you' surprise from TM

I received this email from TM bcs I use unifi. Can trust them meh? They give FREE UPGRADE from 30-50 mbps. Jangan2 after a few months they start billing us and won't allow us to downgrade bcs it seems we can upgrade from 30-50 but CANNOT DOWNGRADE from 50-30 yo.

Bros, bcs of my was-was feelings with all gov entities I have not yet accepted the surprise bcs scared it might turn out really surprising in a negative way. Do you think it's SAFE to accept the so-called FREE UPGRADE? I believe there's a catch somewhere. In malaysia, businesses use such CATCH to TRAP non-wary consumers. Better read all their terms and condition, including those tiny tiny prints with a magnifying glass. I,for one,am never greedy for freebies from gov agencies.

Claiming back driving lesen fees from JPJ

Hey bros,

I have a question and hope somebody who knows will help me. My close relative renewed his driving lesen for 5 years at RM150 (RM30x5). After driving for a year he kena a stroke and ended up with dementia so he can't drive anymore (he can walk now but can't remember where to drive or how to drive home). Is he entitled to claim back the RM120 from JPJ. Is there a form to fill online or at the nearest JPJ? Thanks.

Savely Insurance - is it a SCAM?

Hi Taikors & sifus,

Have any of you heard about SAVELY INSURANCE? I sent my hp# and email add' at imoney and this guy calling himself nicholas liew called, saying his company represents 6 insurance companies at the moment (they will expand to 8 it seems) - etiqa, allianz, axa, kurnia, msig and liberty (at first he mentioned liberty, then general, then liberty again when I mentioned liberty). He said their website is down and will be up at 4pm today (so coincidental one) and he would call me.

I think it is wiser to buy directly from the insurers. If agents can scam us what about a third party. He said I would be paying straight to the insurers. It seems they could give discount of up to 80% on road tax. Has any taikor here heard of such a thing. Sounds fishy. TQVM

MMIP at Pos Malaysia discontinued about 2

Hi again taikors and sifus.

I recently found out at the pejabat pos LOL. Tried MYEG but the insurers don't accept cars older than 15 years. Mine is 17 years old. Now I have BIG problem bcs the road tax and insurance expired on 7/1 but I can still drive it around my housing precinct. Wanna sell this car so will only buy half year road tax and one year insurance bcs can claim back insurance. The BIG problem now is Idk where to buy the insurance for this old junk.

Even for car still under loan I find problem buying online bcs etiqa will value my car much more than it is worth and force me to insure for that amount. All the online insurers are so problematic. Are they all dependable?

Please recommend me one good insurer where I can buy for my car still under loan and how do I insure my old junk so that I can pay road tax and take the car to puspakom after I've found a buyer.

Thx to all the taikors and sifus here.

Overcharging of legal fees

My lawyer did not give me a written contract. The agreed sum for her services was oral. She told me that RM2500 would be for negotiations out of court with the plaintiff's lawyer and the fees would be RM4500 if we have to go to court.

She did not mention that I would have to pay an additional RM800 for filing my defence/counterclaim so I thought that would be covered by the RM2500 fees. I had a nasty surprise when asked to pay the extra RM800 and I paid up. For RM3300 the lawyer only did 2 things for me :-

1) filing of my defence/counterclaim

2) a letter to the plaintiff's lawyer offering a sum as settlement out of court.

Suddenly today I received an email from the lawyer that they are applying to the court for discharge as my lawyer.

Any legally-qualified taikors here to advise me what to do. Are the fees fair? If not how do I obtain justice for this treatment? Should I inform the court's registrar or file a claims at the consumer tribunal? Or do I file a claim at the small claims court which accepts cases for less than RM5000 and you don't need a lawyer for that. Thank you.

Puspakom inspection etc

I'm planning to sell my car direct to the buyer. I understand that the buyer will have to pay for the puspakom check and JPJ transfer of ownership fee RM100. If the buyer,in order to save on expenses, takes my car to puspakom himself without using a runner is it possible for him to run off with my car?

My road tax and insurance will expire on 7 jan' 2017 so how is the buyer going to take my car to puspakom as I'm sure the sale can only happen after 7 jan'. How will he pay for the road tax and insurance without the ownership change?

When will the buyer have to pay me the full sum? How many %tage deposit should I ask for before handing the car to him to take to puspakom? I would appreciate the advice of the taikors here. TQVM.
