Hi guys,

Just a quick one, as i bought this comp 1.5yrs ago, it was meant for gamming.
but now as the game become more and more graphics intense i seem to have problem playing the latest titles.
Just to name a few, i cant play GTA4 as it is too laggy, i think about 20-30fps and as for Street fighter 4 it is about 60fps most of the time but sometimes it drops to 30-40fps with close to max settings.
I did notice that when i am playing, my processor is working its ass off and peak at 100% for both core quite consistently.

Here is the setup

Mobo: Asus M3A
Proc: AMD X2 6000+ (3.0Ghz)
Ram: 2 x 2gb DDR2 (dual channel)
Vga: XFX Nvidia 8800GT (512mb Alpha Dog overclocked version)
OS: Windows 7 RTM version

not too sure if i miss out anything, i am running 2 x 22" monitor at max resolution.

May i know is the processor that is causing a bottleneck in my system?

if yes pls recommend what i need to do?

If no, also pls advice what i need to do?

I wanna game with non of this shit ass problem under budget ofcourse!

Thanks every1 in advance

Cooling my CPU... any idea?

Hi guys, i am currently using an i-cute casing which is quite small fitted with a normal ATX mobo in it.

the problem i have is due to the heat produced by a few components fitted in it...

Firstly my psu a raidmax modular 640W true power... placed in bottom front of my casing... producing serious amount of heat

secondly XFX8800 GT Alpha dog edition (640mhz) ---- really hot i think .. idle at 60C and 80++ C during heavy load

thirdly my proc amd x2 6000+ .... not sure how hot... but the fan is running quite load so i suspect it is hot too...

everytime when i open the casing i feel the air inside is kinda warm... after adding 2 more fans ( 4 fans in total) the temp of the GC dropped abit but the air in the casing is still rather warm....

so do u guys have any advice on how to make the air flow in my casing better????

PS: i have seen some ventilation fan placed on of the slot on mobo, does it help???

Problem starting Comp on cold boot

hey guys,

i'm new here since i was looking for a solution to an alomost similar problem that i have here...

ok firstly let me explain, i just bought a custom built comp few weeks ago, and found out that it had problem to start/boot windows XP after being shut down for a few hours. Which means every morning i wake up i face the same problem after i had the comp off the last night. The problem stay even after i hit the hard reset button and the only way to start window normally is simply by switching the power outlet (wallplug) off and on again. This would fix the problem instantly and the comp would work perfectly fine until it is cold booted again.

I sent my comp to the shop i bought it from and had almost everything tested.

The guy tried another PSU but it didnt work
new sets of RAM didnt work
different HDD didnt work
i tried formating the comp and it didnt work as well

so i was told it was probably the mother board problem, but even with a new board, the problem remains......

after trying hard to find the solution over the net i realize many people have problem with cold boot as well but non of them have the same exact problem as i do. And it was thru the net that i suspect it might be driver problem...

here is my rig
AMD x2 6000+
asus m3A
KG ddr2 800mhz 2gb
xfx 8800 GT ( alpha dog ed 640mhz)
raidmax 640W true power

please advice... and thanks in advance
