Selling New House

Currently im planning to sell my house which I bought from developer few years ago. I was told that I need to make sure that electricity bill, water bill and Indah water has been fully paid before I can sell the house. Since no one living there yet, and i dont even got the keys, do i have to pay all the outstanding bills? I know the workers maybe use some water/electrical while their working there. I just wondering whose going to pay for that?

Moving Abroad

Need input from you guys. Im moving abroad next few months for a few years. Right now im thinking of keeping my existing no, since it will be quite hassle to update contacts from my banks, insurances, internet banking, business contacts, etc. I have read around and found out that for prepaid users I can keep my line for 1-2 years with a fee of 30-50 ringgit. So thats one option. But since currently im a celcom postpaid user, I cant change to prepaid (only Digi and maxis allow postpaid to prepaid conversion I read). So, the only way that I know right now for me to keep my number active without incurring alot of monthly charges is by changing to digi/maxis, than change to prepaid, than extend validity period for 1-2 years.
Do you guys know any other way?

http://biz.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?f...01&sec=business

NEW YORK (Reuters): Eastman Kodak Co , which invented the hand-held camera and helped bring the world the first pictures from the moon, has filed for bankruptcy protection, capping a prolonged plunge for what remains one of America's best-known companies.

The 130-year-old photographic film pioneer, which had tried to restructure to become a seller of consumer products like cameras, said it had also obtained a $950 million, 18-month credit facility from Citigroup to keep it going.

"The board of directors and the entire senior management team unanimously believe that this is a necessary step and the right thing to do for the future of Kodak," Chairman and Chief Executive Antonio M. Perez said in a statement.

Kodak said that it and its U.S. subsidiaries had filed for Chapter 11 business reorganization in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Non-U.S. subsidiaries were not covered by the filing, it added.

Ktard robertngo post the article about them 2 days ago.
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2193077&hl=kodak

Australia or Abu Dhabi

I got a job offers from a company in Abu Dhabi and also one in Brisbane. Right now I couldnt really decide which one should I choose. Below are few points that currently Im looking at:

1) Salary - AD is about ~US1k+ more than Aus (in net terms after taking out house, schools, utilities)
2) Career growth - Aus have a better career growth, AD is from what I heard is quite difficult to move up
3) Schools - AD paid for schools, but its not quite enough since schools there is really expensive. Aus I read that public school is free.
4) Way of living - Im a muslim. So Im sure I will not have any problem in AD. But than again I dont think there will be a big problem in Aus also (been there numerous time for work) except finding halal stuff.
5) Environment - Been to Aus numerous time, with family. City is well structured and easy to go. Plenty of public transportation. But can be a bit dull. Only been to AD during interview. Kind of dusty city, not that well structured. But than again I havent been there long enough to venture around.
6) Medical - All been taken care of in AD. In Aus I need to purchase health insurance, or become PR to get sort of free medicare.
7) Annual leave - AD is 42 days. Aus not sure yet but I think it should be around 20 days.
8) Distance from home - Both around 7-8 hours from malaysia, with AD -4 hours time zone while Aus is + 2hours. But AD is already halfway to europe/US. So its easier for me to go there
9) Wheather - quite obvious I think.

Im really in dilemma right now. Been thinking about this for a month already and still keep changing my mind every now and than. So if any of you can give me some pointers, that will be great.

Medical Benefit

Hi, i want to ask for clarification.
A company give you a certain amount of medical allocation each year. When you pay your insurance, or go to clinics, you can claim it back using the allocated amount. Question is, do this amount is taxable? The reason i ask this because i thought since this is a non fix allowance (depends on how much you used a year), so it is consider as expenses rather than benefit. So it should'nt appear in your EA. If not, than I guess phone claim, feul claim etc also need to be tax.
Do I have it right or I completely misunderstood?

Also i did try to go into service menu (mute-1-8-2-power), but again fails.
Which housing loan?

I've been scouting around for housing loan quite sometimes, and I end up with 2 choices, AIA 5.99 fix rate or citibank islamic loan.
As you know, the AIA will have the fix rate of 5.99, so you dont have to worry about increasing BLR. The citibank islamic is BLR-1.5, with cap at 8.9. What i like about citibank is the bi-weekly payment plan. I was told that even if you pay the same amount of your monthly installment by dividing it every 2 weeks, you could save a few years of your installment period and some amount of money. this is because the way the interest is calculated. Could someone verify this? And what about AIA? Can we do the same thing? Again i was told it is not possible to do that with AIA because it calculate the interest differently. Is it true?
