KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 27): Some 60.2 per cent of the country’s adult population or 14,095,554 people have completed both doses of the Covid-19 vaccination as of yesterday, according to the Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee Special Committee (JKJAV).

An infographic shared by the committee on Twitter today showed that 18,948,648 individuals, or 80.9 per cent, have received the first dose, bringing the cumulative total of vaccine administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK), as of yesterday, to 33,044,202 doses.

In terms of percentage, 58 per cent of the country’s population have received the first dose, while 43.2 per cent have completed the two-dose vaccination.

On the daily vaccination rate, a total of 408,295 doses were administered yesterday with 155,669 being the first dose while 252,626 were the second dose.

PICK was launched on Feb 24 to provide vaccinations to curb the Covid-19 pandemic nationwide. — Bernama

Do u support for freedom for antivaxers to be restricted? Like they cannot enter shopping mall, cannot enter cinema, cannot dine-in at restaurants, cannot check in into hotels, cannot attend festivals/concerts and cannot book flights for non essential purposes.

No death for those who have completed vaccination

KUCHING (Aug 10): Sarawak has not recorded any Covid-19 fatalities from among infected individuals two weeks after they have been fully vaccinated, said Sarawak Health director Dato Dr Mohamed Sapian Mohamed.

In a statement yesterday, he said a total of 449 Covid-19 fatalities had been reported as of Sunday, with 429 or 94.6 per cent of the deaths involving those who had not been vaccinated.

“From the total deaths, 21 of them (4.7 per cent) only received the first dose when they were found positive, while three deaths (0.7 per cent) have received both doses before they were found positive within 14 days from the date of their last dose.

“This means that Sarawak did not record any deaths due to Covid-19 among individuals who have completed their Covid-19 immunisation (at least 14 days after receiving the complete doses),” he said.

The first signs of infection is pain in your bones, eyeballs and a fever. You will soon feel tired and exhausted.

Phase 2 happens after a false dawn where you thought that you have finally turned the corner. That’s when your oxygen level drops, first to 90, then 88 and finally to low 70s.

You will know when phase 2 happens as you will be gasping for air like a fish out of water. You need to be hooked up to a ventilator in this stage or you will end up dead or severely deprived of oxygen.

I am slowly learning how to walk again in my room. I lost 8kgs during my ordeal.
