27 inch 1440p monitor recommendation

Hi guys, need some advice here.

I am looking for a 27 inch monitor for work purpose. By work I mean lots of pdf journal, ebook, documents reading and some word, excel. I think words would be too pixelated on a 27 inch 1080p monitor. Other than that, i’d also like to have an ips panel.

That’s all my requirement. No 144hz, g sync or freesync needed as this monitor will be connected to my laptop that runs on intel hd 620 and I also hardly if ever game.

I have actually found one that matches what i’m looking for. That being Lenovo L27q. What are your thoughts on this?

Budget rig that can last for years

Hi guys, i'm planning to build a new rig around 1.5k-2.5k without lcd monitor, speaker and so on. I don't really play much games and big title games like Diablo III, Starcraft 2, Mass Effect 3, Dota 2, Max Payne 3 are a big no no for me (just personal preference, I know i'm weird).

However, I do play Civilization V and The Sims 3 with all the add-on and expansions. Guess both are more CPU demanding than GPU demanding, right? Imagine running a 50gb++ game or calculating 15 AIs moves at once. Other than that are just ordinary surfing and drama-watching.

Besides that, I don't see myself changing a new rig until the existing one gone rusted til it severely affect daily performance . Hence I would prefer something is more future proof (i mean like i7 than i5 and maybe a mobo that allows me to sli/crossfire in the future - when i have to buy another GPU to extend my rig life).

Other than that, i'd prefer a hdd that's at least 1TB 7200rpm with 64b cache. No ssd and fancy casing needed. A value for money GPU will do, wouldn't mind running on the on-board HD4000 but seems like it sucks for Civ 5

That's all my requirement i think, thanks a gazillion

Fresh grad joining Fund Management field

Any of you used to or is currently working in fund management division of a bank (Public Mutual, CIMB, etc)? What are their requirement for analyst/research executive? Heard that they only hired those with honours/distinction or at least level 1 of CFA. The problem is my degree from australia doesn't even have an honours. SO how could I join unit trust as analyst/research executive?

Besides that, I would really appreciate if you could share your experience and salary level while working in a unit trust.
