Unable to connect to Maxis 5G Home Wifi 5Ghz

Hi all,

Recently Maxis offer to upgrade my home 5G wifi router to Brovi by Huawei (24 mths contract extend). Everything working normally in the first day, plug and play. However, the second day all my device (5Ghz compatible) could not connect to the 5Ghz network. I could not identified the reason, I restarted the wifi router, I checked settings 192.168.8.1 (did not change anything) and I tried to move the wifi router to different location.

Can anyone help? Thank you in advance.

Update (28/4/25):

Contacted Maxis and troubleshoot by factory resetting the router. 5Ghz can be connected by weak performance even close to the router. Trying different channel and some work some do not. Maxis told to KIV 2 -3 days and if problem persisted maybe they will replace a new unit.

Inquiry About Low Cost Flat

Our parents own a low cost flat and they are not staying in the property. We 3 brothers have our own house and we know that we are not eligible to inherit the low cost flat. Now, our parents planning to sell them.

Just want to know, touch wood, what will happen to the property if it is not sold after our parents pass away?

Maxis Account Refund

Last month I have port out from Maxis Postpaid and change to Hotlink Postpaid. I paid my zerolution device remaining balance & non return charge. Previously there’s a device advance payment of 2k in the Maxis Postpaid account so I had requested refund. Since then there’s no response from Maxis.

Today I tried again (worrying I filled in the request wrongly) but I got the prompt shown in the picture below…

I contacted Maxis Call Centre, they said I am currently Hotlink user thus they transferme to Hotlink Customer Line. But now Hotlink said they can’t check Maxis account and will call me back after investigate.

I am so confused right now…

Terminate Zerolution

I am planning to terminate my Zerolution contract and I more or less know how much the early termination charges will be.

Just curious about the "Mobile Device non-return fee" in clause 19, what is that and how Maxis determines the fee?

Anyone one has experience terminating can share and guide me? Thank you very much.

Multicast Connection Problem on Unifi TV

Since my unifi is Turbo-ed, my Unifi TV will get Multicast Connection error time to time (black screen with a crossed satellite) and it is getting more frequent recently. My surrounding neighbors seemed doesn't have this issue. It can be happened during the TV box first boot or even during changing channel. I had enquiry TM regarding this but they just told me to check my cable connection which didn't help much or they will just do a reboot from their side. The only way now to solve this problem is always restart the modem, router and TV box. Anyone have any idea on this problem? My setup is as shown below:

Modem: Huawei EchoLife HG8240H
Router: Dlink DIR-878
TV box: Huawei EC6108V8
all Ethernet cables: Cat 5e
Homeplug: Tplink TL-PA4010P Kit
