Thread.Join()

I took a sample of a producer-consumer thread processing, somewhere online,
but when i dispose it, the app will just hold at Thread.Join() and will not quit...
now, I know that Thread.Join() will block the thread and I tried to use a delegate but same..still hangs..

I need the thread to quit in the proper manner as the threads process data that I cant replicate..

any ideas??

ActiveX alternative

Hi guys, just wanted to ask around

what is the alternative for activeX? currently I have a website that calls an activeX object. quite crappy and i am looking for an alternate way to do this.
The problem is that the ActiveX is used to access/control a camera, not webcam but DSLR cameras. The activeX also crops the pictures and stores in on disk.

any ideas? possible for the object to be server-side instead of it being client-side (as in the software is stored on the server and is just called within the browser itself).

Internet slow like crap..worst than screamyx....
Power sure putus everyday... expecially when in the middle of urgent matters..
The people here, take them 10 minutes just to turn on the damn generator..and that also is just to turn a key...
Food is expensive....USD10 for every damn meal...dun care makan apa also USD10...
people here malas... the beggar come beg for money and then want to lansi summore...
Traffic here memang teruk...sudahlah its a 2 lane street...the damn vans will block one whole lane..so u can imagine when 2 lane have to squeeze into one lane...
got traffic light is liek not having one at all...i see 10 traffic lights, only 2 working...got traffic police who dunno how to direct traffic...see the road jam also ask ppl to jalan...then the whole junction kena block...everyone tak payah jalan.

this place...give them all the money in the world,also cannot become a first world country...

VLAN and PPPoE for Unifi

if i were to use this eth1.500 as a PPPoE interface, will it work for Unifi??

J2ME And SMTP with SSL

I posted a topic a few weeks back on MMS and MessageParts...

it would seem that my client disapproves my approach and instead prefers a conventional email functionality..
most email servers such as Yahoo and Hotmail, does not have SMTP server available - for free use
but Gmail does..

I came across an app called MujMail and it does support SMTP and POP3 with SSL..but I have been trying to customize the codes to my use but the codes is just too messy..and has too much dependencies...

so i just wanted to see if anyone here has a solution or opinion to give me..

J2ME and MMS - MessagePart

Hi,

Just wanted to get your opinion/help on this small issue I have. As from my previous thread, I managed to save the image to RMS.
As my client requirement is to be able to send the image out as well, I decided to use the MMS functionality instead of an email client due to certain issues. But what happens is that for MMS, the maximum size available is only 30KB.

The size value is hard coded in MessageParts.java that is in javax.wireless.messaging package and apparently was supposed to be able to be externally changed.

As of now, the Image that i created is 178KB, and is valid PNG image. But due to size contraints, I either down scale the image to fit the size and make the picture very very small or I find other ways out, which till date I have not.

So any ideas on what I can do??

Hi

Want to ask, for J2ME and J2SE, if I were to commercialize or sell applications, are there any necessary licenses that I have to pay??
The reason being that I completed an application and my client's client wants to license or copyright it. And so my client is asking me on this.

As I know Java is open source but I have not tried selling any applications before..So just wanted to ask u guys..

Penang stops double tracking project over flood

He said representatives of MMC-Gamuda would meet with state Public Works, Utilities and Transportation Committee chairman Lim Hock Seng and state Agriculture, Rural Development and Flood Mitigation Committee chairman Law Choo Kiang to discuss the stop work order.

The RM12.485bil EDTP project, which started in 2008, involves bridges, tunnels and new double track railway lines traversing over 300km across Perak, Penang, Kedah and Perlis.

Hi,

Have any of u guys seen any Atom processor boards with 2 PCI slots in Mini-ITX format?? I just need to have a total of 3 LAN ports and I have found the Jetway JATOM GM1 with 1 LAN port + 2 PCI slots, and the X7SLA with 2 built in LAN port + 1 PCI.

Just wanted to ask if any of u guys seen such boards available in Malaysia (lowyat) and hopefully within the Rm300 range.

What is my future?

Hi, guys..

Currently I am working as a systems engineer/programmer/system support..Cant say i really like this job nor i hate the job..and it involves a lot of travelling..2 years down the road, the company will still send me overseas..contract states that i have to travel...but i can stop anytime i want..

my interest is in networking..currently self-studying CCNP...going to take CCNA exam...but i dont see how i can enter this field considering that i wont get experience..and most companies want experience..

so i was thinking of quiting my current job and joining Seagate as network technician or find other networking jobs..but the only thing holding me back is money..i asked for the price of CCNP and it is very expensive (nearly vomit blood..thats why i self study.. )..so for now what is holding me back is money...but i feel that 2 years down the road...i will get lazy and just drop all my interest for networking and keep the current job just for money..

my initial plan was to work for 2 years..and jump ship..even my dad agrees coz the company pay rise too low and career advancement is close to none ....but going into networking after 2 years will make me a "fresh grad" again..

what should I do??stick to original plan?change my plan??? any opinions??

Going to Abuja, Nigeria in August..Not sure where my company will be putting me in but accommodation will be provided...i heard it is a crappy hotel..so just wanted to ask..if any of u guys have been to Nigeria..and can comment on the place and food...i dont intend of spending more than USD500 for 2 months on food..last time 2 months in egypt, spent USD400..and that was with cooking...

I tried the embedded version but it gets stuck at the "BTX loader 1.00 BTX Version 1.02"

any ideas..i dont want to install it on a hard disk or use a cd rom coz both are not available..

i have a list of values and i have split it into multiple columns, but how do i add just a few records of it.
