The weird ScenarioTest section in appstore

hi all,

Just wondering, since i just installed windows 8 and sdk to make their app..

when u guys, enter the appstore, did u see some weird ScenarioTest section located at the 1st section of it.

Im not sure for me, at first i tot is a test app that i compiled by mistake.

Any one need help in good commenting in post?

[PROBLEM] Best way to change hostname and reboot?

Recently, my company just hosted some website in some linux dedicated server on the US.

I made some changes into the hostname to get some settings going. I used the command hostname to change it. Having to restart the server recently i noticed all my hostname is reverted back to the old one.

How do I permanently change this settings?

2nd Question
How to I reboot the PC in linux command? knowing the command not necessarily means I can just reboot with the command as it needs parameters and other console argument just to reboot. Im not sure which is which.

Is there's a specific command line that you guys normally use.

Just wanna ask,

Is it possible to have a web application coded in php to receive a transaction and then split the price for something like profit sharing.

For example,

Mr.A posted a book in my web application bookstore which cost around $100.00.

When customer order - Mr.A's book, this is what happens in the background.

my web application we take a cut of 5% of the book's price (to my company's paypal merchant account) and 95% goes to Mr.A paypal's merchant account.

[PROBLEM] Using sharpziplib in vb.net

Hi all,

I'm currently developing a small zip tool to zip folders and subfolders in xp using sharpziplib.

All zip files created are working fine in windows, even tested open with winrar and z-zip.

However, when i upload to my linux online server (contains a upload and unzip content function) the sub-folders become a flat file instead e.g.

When unzip in windows platform, i can see the subfolder appearing.
[subfolder1]\filename.html

But, when unzip in php linux platform i see the subfolder appearing like this,
subfolder1\filename.html <--- the subfolder become part of the file.

Was wondering any1 here encounter this problem?
I'm not sure this issue is cause by php web app running in linux platform or the coding in my vb.net using sharpziplib.

Gaming in Vista

Hi all, I've just upgraded to Vista.

New experience and goodies but there's also alot of dissapointment due to the support in for older games.

Mainly because, the entire vista uses direct x 10 that is an new engine.

I'm building a list of games i've tested with Vista so far, hope u all can join in as I cant test every single game out there in the market.

Zip file download automatically open in temp

Hi all,

I was wondering if you guys can help me out.

For some reason my I.E. keep having this behaviour. When I download any zip files of the web, it will automatically stores in a temp folder and then, when the download is finished it pop-up a zip folder content.

Looks like a small problem at first, until i started to download huge zip files like 100-200 MB, it kept doing the same behaviour.

How do I disable this automatic task?
Is there a location in registry i need to edit?

btw, im using Windows XP Pro.

Wiimote in PC?

Building a MSI Package in VB.net

Hi guys,

Im not exactly a microsoft programmer or anything, but recently i was told to come up with some modification (reskinning of application) written entirely in VB.net 2002.

The previous programmer created a setup package that creates a msi file. What I do was to copy the source codes and dev. folders into another to do my work.

The problem is. I wanted to tweak this msi installer to become another product instance for example, previously called ProductABC.msi now ProductXYZ.msi. Both of them are meant to be in different installation folders.

When I start compiling the ProductXYZ.msi and test the installer. It seems to be able to detect ProductABC installed in my harddrive and said an instance already been installed.

How to I change the properties of the package so that, this product is unique from the previous ProductABC?
