Dropping chemistry and replacing with EST

Hey guys, I'm considering to replace chemistry with EST.

I'm currently in a ICT stream class. My grades are doing well. Chemistry on the other hand not so well.

The deadline before I can sign up for EST is next week.
Thing is I don't know much about EST, my teacher also did not gave me a brief introduction to est.
So I would like to know more about it. I searched about it and alot of sample examination papers came out.

1. Is EST mostly about writing essays?
2. Is the content for it is mostly compromised of a bit of chem/phy/bio? If that's the case, is it complicated?
3. Is it worth replacing chemistry with EST

Hey guys, i currently have a T410 with standard specifications.

i5-520m
Intergrated Graphics
4GB DDR3 1600mhz
320GB 5400rpm HDD.

The hard disk is not really an issue , the cpu however is starting to show age and my parents who took CS said my
laptop spec might not be able to handle it. Should I keep this laptop and get a desktop, which my parents advice me that I should or get a desktop replacer like the W520.

T410 - Everything working, no ALT key. no Battery. laptop w/o scratches
Specs:
i5 520m
Intergrated GPU
4GB of DDR3 Ram

T601 - T61 body, T60 parts inside. no ALT key. no Battery. Left Hinges broke.
Specs:
Core 2 T2500 (32 Bit CPU)
X1300 128MB or 256MB
2GB of DDR2.

Can i get atleast around 500-599 for these laptops.
