Which Home Fibre? Unifi/DiGi/Maxis/Celcom

Hello, planning to signup for a home fibre plan after using DiGi Infinite 150 for a couple of years.

Looking for ones that are below RM200, can use smartdns (although not really needed).

So far, I'm looking into these plans:

Unifi 100mbps (RM129)
- None of the TV/app bundles, which is what we're looking for.

Digi Fibre 150, 300Mbps (RM150)
- There's a promo for it to be with RM100, but I don't really understand how to get it.

Maxis 300Mbps (RM149)
- Seems good but Maxis service was crappy last time we used it, but seeing as this is fibre, not sure how it'll be.

Celcom 300Mbps (RM140)
- There's a Sabah promo, but it's hooked to Xpax which is not what we want.

If there's any other things I should take into consideration before I settle on one, would like to hear it too, thanks.

Problem trying to change land title type

Hi, a family friend has been trying to change land type to be able to split the land and and for buyers to be able to get land title for their lot.

I’m not privy to the whole thing, but it seems the changing of the land type has been going on for more than 10 years, just waiting for officials to sign off on it.

What would be the reason for the long wait?
And what options do they have to make the process proceed until finished? Lawyer?

Update: its trying to change from agricuture land to residential.

Hi, I'm planning to co-own a property with my partner. If I pay one lump sum, will the amount I need to pay to the bank be lower? Like will they deduct the price a bit if I pay the full balance that is left?

How to exit/take out name from a previous company?

Hello, a potential business partner is still involved with a previous company. His name is part of the company board member I guess.

How does one step down from it, or dissolve his partnership there? Is it just need to submit resignation letter? Updating the business registration?

I really have no idea about businesses at all, and neither does he.

Thanks!

Need Advice on Warranty Claim for Skyworth TV

Hi,

I sent my model 55G6A11T Skyworth TV to the service center. They said the display malfunctioned, and they will replace the TV. Since mine is an older model, the HQ said the can only replace mine with a newer model (G2 Series). Just have to pay RM500++.

I told the technician to ask HQ if I paid that much for the new model, if I'll get some sort of warranty for that too. He'll get back to me soon.

Is this normal for this kind of thing?
Would like to hear opinions/suggestions from others, thanks.

Can anyone reccommend affordable 4g routers?

Posted at wrong section, so hoping the experts can help me out a bit.

Already have Unifi Mobile Prepaid but will upgrade to DiGi Unlimited 150. I've checked my area has band 3 and 5, but not sure about band 38, 40. For household with more than 10 devices. Probably going to connect it up to my airport extreme.

Budget is up to rm400.

Preferably can get in lazada cause i want to use my voucher.

I have only found these two routers that work with band 3 and 5. Are there any better recommendations?

- TENDA 4G680
- D-Link DWR-921

Someone suggested Huawei b315 s22, but I can't find any concrete evidence that it supports Unifi Mobile on band 5.

Another suggested Huawei b618, the Unifi site sells it at rm500++ but since I can't use my voucher, this isn't an option for me either.

After years of using Streamyx 4mb and can't upgrade anytime soon, decided to go for sim broadbands. Narrowed down to either Unifi Mobile Weekly Prepaid or DiGi Unlimited 150.
Want to find out which funds are tax exempted in perpetuity?
So far, I only know about:
- ASB
- KWSP
- Tabung Haji

Others have time limit, like ASB2 which is only until 2023.

Thank you for the help.

Can help me brainstorm ASB loan plan, pls?

Hello,

I've heard there are some people who do this. I'm trying to get a complete picture, how to explain my proposal to our close Chinese family friend.

Hope others can shed some light, see if theres anything I haven't taken into consideration yet.

There's three parts of the plan:

Part 1:
- I have some money in ASB, so want to ask if they can lend money (they've never asked interest from my family and vice versa), to max my ASB.
- Current ASB amount is enough for emergencies, won't be dipping into the money they lend to me.
- Keep the interest rolling.
- If they need the money back, can easily withdraw from ASB. Do banks have a limit on how much can be taken out? Same day, or have to wait few days?

Part 2:
- If ASB maxed, open ASB2, for them to put money in, they keep all the interest from that account.
- At any time they want the money back, can easily withdraw for them too.

Part 3:
- ASB & ASB2 maxed.
- Can't top up previous accounts, so open another PNB account (I dunno which. ASW2020?).
- Any unused amount of monthly income, put it in this account, keep the interest rolling, slowly max it out.

Plan 2 and 3 hinges on, if they can lend big amounts. Any amount they give is already better than loaning from the banks that charge interest.

Is this a good plan?

Few more questions:
- After ASB, which should be next account to be opened, ASB2 or ASW2020? Or it doesn't really matter?
- Are dividends from ASB, ASB2 and ASW2020 taxable?

Hello,

Just need advice if this is a good idea:

- Have fund in ASB to buy laptop.
- Buy in Lazada, use 0% installment for 6 months.
- Keep fund in ASB as backup, use monthly income to pay off installments.
- Fund in ASB (hopefully) untouched to get dividends.
- Pay credit card statement balance on time, no interest charged.

Good plan?

Vpost and Borderlinx doesn't seem to work for Sg items.

Google search only came up with shippn.com, for orders from Sg to My. Any suggestions for which other services to forward items?

Update1: Also found parcl.com. Anyone used this before?

Pls help, dealing with car dealers

Hello, have a Hilux trying to sell. Met with a few car dealerships in Sabah. Just need help/advice about getting the best deal.

Info about car:
Manufactured 2010, bought 2011
Bank loan, lump sum, just need to pay RM38,700. (only told Dealer D this info)
Told all dealers still have 9 year loan, wanted them to count themselves.

These are their replies:

Dealer A
Gave quote: Between RM43K - RM48K.
I asked, what kind of cars can trade in without monthly payments. She answered Kancil, Kelisa, Iswara.
When I asked how about Wira, she said Wira cars cost RM22k so probably can't trade-in.

Dealer B
Gave quote: RM38K
Asked about trade-in no monthly payments, he said can get Nissan SUV, Axora, Prado. I was a bit skeptical about this. Dunno if he counted correctly how, based on the info I gave him.

Dealer C
Gave quote: RM34K
Asked about trade-in, no monthly payments, he said Kancil, Kelisa.

Dealer D
Asked for "kad kereta". Didn't have any. Isn't this with the bank? Didn't want to give estimate.

Which do you think I should take? I still haven't met with all the car dealerships in town. Any tips how to deal with other dealers? Or if I talk to these ones again?

Appreciate the help, thanks.

Got land, how to build a house on it?

I want to build a house on it, and rent it out either for a student/lecturer. I've never done it before and would like to know what steps I have to do to complete my project.

So far, I've outlined it this way:

1. Secure budget (Done).
2. Get blueprints (I hear I can buy pre approved ones from the majlis perbandaran).
3. Hire contractor.
4. Oversee unit construction.
5. Get electricity & water plugged into unit.

Would really appreciate some detailed guides/hints/tips to get mt project underway. I'm aiming to complete it this year at least.

Thank you.

Buying used car then upgrade it every 10 months?

Hi. I've been planning on buying a reliable used car. I just want to know if my plan for the future is good, cause I read this plan in a book. Here's the plan:

- buy used car rm7k.
- each month, save rm1k.
- after 10 months, sell used car (hopefully still around rm6-7k).
- add rm10k + rm6-7k from selling previous car, to buy a better/newer/bigger car.
- repeat all for another 10 months.

Has anyone ever tried doing this? are there any things I might have overlooked (income tax, road tax, etc.)? Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks.

* Not buying/selling as a business venture. This is for me to get my dream car at some point, while still getting to enjoy and drive around until I do get it.
