Saw their new 4.5k pricing for the G14 and looks attractive but I saw their facebook post got users actively complaining about the laptop

Was seeing the raving reviews of Asus Zephyrus with AMD CPUs and interested to get one until I checked no webcam on the laptop one
wtf 1.6K USD punya laptop leh

then I further checked and saw their zephyrus and strix all no webcam one...

nowadays lockdown webcam so damn expensive(logi one 1080p needs rm400 to buy), how can Asus no put the webcam there one

I know that this statement seems corny.
But every friend usually asks me this question again and again, especially when they consider buying a new gaming gear.
First of all, we all agree that gear with more cores means that gear got more powerful performance.

Actually, the processor with more cores only provides benefit to the application with multi-thread optimization or who use many applications at the same time.
And though most modern games use multiple core and threads now,
popular esports games like CS:GO(2011) or Dota 2(2014 ) are known to operate best with 4 core/est with 4 Cores CPUModern games such as Battlefield 5 (11/2018) uses as many cores as possible.

So here comes the question..
Which option will you choose if most games need only 4 cores CPU?
A. More core?
B. Sufficient numbers of core with high frequency?
C. More cores with high frequency?

Of course the answer is C, if your dad is Bijan

Here’s the benchmark to compare the Intel i3-9350KF(4C4T) to AMD Ryzen5 3600X(6C12T) with the following configuration.
AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 4.3 GHz OC
Intel Core i3-9350KF 5.2 GHz OC
Nvidia RTX 2080 @ 1080p/Medium settings
RAM: 16 GB DDR4 3400 MHz (2x8)
Games: 1080p

Though having multiple cores and thread does help with stability and performance, the result above suggests that it does not have a major impact on game performances, and that includes FPS games. The real bottleneck for higher graphic gaming is GPU.
Now you know how to respond to your buddies when the new processor comes out

Necessary to get a RTX?

Right now seeing all the newer games like Apex Legend, Anthem, Exodus etc which asking more and more graphic requirement and implementing ray-light stuffs that makes me asking this,

Looking at the screenshot image which i get from TechSpot review about GTX and RTX graphic, Is GTX starting to become obsolete? currently the RTX price (laptop) are nearly the same as GTX previous released which not a bad deal to get a RTX graphic machine.

I do know that GTX still works well with these games and it's cheaper right now or might have promotion for clearing stock, but in term of long run in like 2-3 years, is it better to just get build/get RTX now?

Personally I think its worth getting due to performance, but do wish to hear more from you guys.

MSI PS42 short review

Greetings all,

I'm just here to share a bit on the MSI PS42 Prestige laptop I bought last week. Sadly currently Malaysia only have the Intel i5-8250U version instead of i7, but it's already fit my requirement for office work and some
light editing for my photo and the such which lasted more than 7 hour (constant working) without charging. If you wish to know more, the spec of the laptop as such:

8th Gen. Intel® CoreTM i5 processor
Windows 10 Home
NVIDIA® GeForce® MX150 2GB GDDR5 dedicated graphics
Ultra-light 1.19kg, Ultra-slim 15.9mm
Thin bezel IPS-level panel
Fingerprint sensor

At first, the laptop look heavier than I thought, but it's really weight around 1KG after lighting it myself and checking at MSI's page and including the charger it's not even heavy at all.

With Box

The littke bump on the box is caused by water that spilled from my water bottle

I can hold it like a book while lying down on my sofa Nevertheless, this laptop is really pack a punch for business and content creator, the overall performance, design and usage are above satisfactory and the only downpart (for me) is the keyboard design doesn't really match my fingers, but this is very subjective to every users.

Hi guys so after my cousin I decided to get myself a GP62M VR... (it was on promotion and New Year Eve I was excited to spend my 2017 with a fancy laptop.
Got it form MSI 11street online store while it still got the free shipping.

Hi guys, sooo my cousin bought a pretty cool MSI gaming laptop recently and I will like to share with you guys the unboxing.
This is my very first unboxing here please forgive me if I sound funny… lol

This is their latest model, GT62VR Dominator Pro with GTX 1070 graphic card.

You can see the pretty neat box, it quoted from PC. MAG “if you are a gamer or simply looking for a powerful laptop for home, you owe it to yourself to check out MSI.”

The back of the box here. MSI seems like to educate either their user or the dealer…

The box is openedddd now. You can see the wrapping, they bundled one gaming steel series mouse and MSI backpack.

I do like the appearance of this laptop, the light here is pretty cool and it shines when the unit is on.

The left hand side only got 1 USB port though and it’s not very convenient for a left handy… (but my cousin is right handy so I guess that does not bug him)

On another side, the right hand side got 3 USB ports.
The back of the laptop got the power plugging, HDMI port, mini display port...

Now it’s time to see what we got here…

CPU: i7 6700HQ
GPU: GTX 1070 GDDR5 8G
RAM: 16G
HDD: 256 M.2 Sata SSD + 1TB
Panel: 1920 x 1080 FHD

One of the coolest things about MSI laptop is the steel series keyboard…

So I changed it to some girly color for his Keyboard just to piss him off. lol

My cousin told me the sales showed him the new software, called “Dragon Center”. Like MSI is not enough with their dragon yet…
Super obsessed with it lol.
One of my friends has a ROG and she showed me ROG “Gaming center” before. It is quite similar to Dragon Center to be honest.
However, Dragon Center does seem to have more features, it controls not only the keyboard, the brightness, fan mode but can also do some special affect when you do streaming…
but I will like to leave that for later… If I ever got chance to play something on this and demo next time.

There is this "Mobile center" I have not tried... but i think that should sync your phone to your laptop...(?)
IDK what that's for but if anyone curious I will go find out...

So this is it, please do let me know if any advice… I will like to see if I can do better next time. If any question regarding to this unit feel free to ask! I will bug my cous for you guys!!
BTW, he bought it for RM9,999 from Plaza Lowyat’s MSI concept store just in case you are curious.
