Home workout with dumbbell and bike

Hello all sifu,

I am a pure beginner in working out, and I havent work out I guess over 10 years. I have the following physique.

H: 183 cm
W: 106 kg

I am recently diagnosed with high blood pressure and been advised by doctor to start working out before they going to decide if I need to start medication. So, the goal is to get healthy and reduce weight. Anyway, I have below equipments to work out at home every morning before going to work. Due to work and commute and family commitments, I dont think an evening work out will work.

1) 3 units of dumbbells - 5kg and 2x15 kg (both adjustable, and same model meaning I can interchange weight between these 2 without problem)
2) 1 unit stationary gym bike
3) Bench

I am currently planning to do the following work out routine.

Workout time: 6.00 am after wake up (no pre workout meal), followed by breakfast (after 30 min) and go to work
Routine: 2 days workout, 1 day rest. At end of month, plan to have 4 days rest instead before reset back to original routine.

Workout plan

I've been reading this ebook as a guide and feeling of following and doing short rep with heavy weights exercises.
Bigger Leaner Stronger by Michael Matthews

1st - Old plan

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Thus,

I also refer to this workout video, hence I am planning to do exactly how he showed, with the exact sequence.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1r9toPQNkM&t=468s

I plan to do 2 sets of 10 reps of each exercise (name taken from the video)
1. I mean, if I follow the above sequence, may I overwork the muscles? I will start with light weights for the beginning and slowly will increase the weight in future.
3) I would like to know also, what is the best period to increase the dumbbells weight, for the dumbbel and by how much? Is increasing 1kg each in every month is a good target?

For meal, I still stick to my usual 3 meals per day (breakfast, lunch, dinner). However, I start to calculate and record the calories intake and WILL maintain less intake than the TDDE.

Appreciate all advice given

How to be an ally to depression fighters

Ok, we have seen a lot of threads by depression/mental illness fighters. But how about the one who will support them? If our loved ones are having depression or any other mental illness, what should I do?

I am saying this cuz I am a bit loss at the moment to support a very close person to me who suffered bipolar disorder illness. I found myself to be not only frustrated, but also stressed out myself to cope with their extreme behaviors. I do understand that the behaviors and they dont really meant whatever nonsense they said due to the illness, but still I cant brush off this frustrated feelings of trying to win arguments, angry etc.

Been reading online and found below book. Currently reading it, and hopefully it can show me guidance.

I am not sick book pdf link

Any tips especially from your own experience will be much appreciated.

mobile signal booster

Ok, I am using Digi and having bad signal in my house, barely achieve 1 bar or E. Outside seems ok, with 4G LTE available. Might planning to change to Celcom or Maxis but the plan doesnt seem to be as good as Digi. Both service providers signal is only slightly better anyway.

I am planning to purchase mobile signal booster

Now, after looking online, I've seen multiple models serving for specifically frequency band 1800 or 2600. I know from online reading that 1800 will offer higher coverage, but slower speed compared to 2600.

Anyone know if I can get 4G (with decent speed 3mbs) by boosting 1800Mhz range? Or do I need 2600Mhz?

Survey engineering project

This short survey is done for my engineering project for my college. I’ve been doing this survey for some market study to get some comments.

Thanks to those who take part and sorry for my poor English.

First of all, I’ve been assigned to a group of four to do the project. We have decided that we want to create a product that is similar to a normal drinking glass but have a small detachable compartment that can cool down the drink. The objective of our design is to make a product that can separate the cooling agent (e.g. ice) from the drink to prevent dilution of the drink but can still cool the drink at the same time.

The basic idea is to make the small compartment act as an independent cooling device. The idea works like this. In the small device, there will be a cooling agent. When we want to cool the drink, we just need to put the device into the drink to cool it down. After finish using it, the device then must be put into the refrigerator to “recharge” it back so that it can be reused. I hope you guys get the overall idea about my project now. So here’s the survey.

1)	Do you prefer to have ice in your drink?
a) yes b) no

2)	Do you like to eat the leftover ice after finishing your drink?
a) yes b) no

3) Does the ice bothers you when you are stirring the drink?
a)yes b) no

4)	Is it a problem for you if the ice dilutes your drink?
a) yes b) no

5 Do you think the product is practical for daily usage?
a) yes b) no

6) Have you heard of any similar product/ideas same as mine?
a) yes b) no
If yes, can describe it?
-----------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------

7) Comments on our product/ideas and current glass product.
-----------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------

one more thing... I haven't make the product yet. maybe you'll think that the question kinda unrelated.. but based on the survey, we'll determine how the products works later on based on it.
again. all ideas are most welcomed. thanks to all who took part. you're helping me a lot.
