Speedhome Review

Speedhome, for a start, is great for tenant. Why? Zero deposit. Using an agent requires you to pay up to 4months rental; 1st month rent, 2months deposit, 1 month utility.

For landlord, it depends on your luck.

Most tenants that seek zero deposit, typically have not much savings in their own saving accounts. Speedhome is great for them to quickly get a new place to stay. Worst, if they are foreigners.

My experience was with a foreigner. Has zero credit history in the country. Speedhome allows him to stay despite that.

The tenant paid zero deposit. And he left the place without paying any utilities within a month. His reason of termination given to Speedhome was that the facilities do not match his expectations. Despite my best to prove otherwise to Speedhome, Speedhome sided with the tenant. This is all despite the reasons given was really unfounded, like facilities do not match the standard he is expecting (not a 5 star facility)

I have lost a few months without rental due to this sudden movement.

The lesson here is as follow :

- while you drafting the agreement, make sure everything was written in a clear and concise manner
- having deposit is the safest way to protect yourself as a landlord over "credit checking"

This is my own review as a landlord for speedhome. And I have seen similiar ones in other threads, guess im not alone.

Insurance Endowment

Im planning to invest in insurance endowment + also with life insurance, as typically endowment plans comes with life insurance too. i was wondering, is it worth to invest in such plan? is there any better alternative like using a lump sum to invest instead?

in dilemma of choosing between Latio or Sentra.

why Sentra priced higher than Latio? Sentra is older and yet pricier? and its tech is older than Latio. is it worth to get a Sentra now? coz im a dilemma. the price i ask is:

RM82k++ Latio 1.6 Manual
RM86k++ Sentra 1.6 Manual

but, Sentra got 9k discount plus free bodykit, i can choose not to have the bodykit and get a total of 10k+ discount. hw u guys think about this?

i currently own a 1.3 wira aeroback Manual. year 2001. just wonder, is it worth if i change this car to a new Gen 2?coz my car got alot of problem liao, if service fully, i think need around 3-4k plus plus (including changing the 4 tyres). so i think it is not worth to service, just get a new car is better.

wanna find out the exact price of joining Fitness first gym. i went to the IOI mall branch and ask with that consultant, the price he told me is RM240 (forgot the exact amount) for a one year contract. then i ask my fren who joined the same fitness first center 3-4 months ago, he only pay RM145 per month, wtf? . and he told me he can use all the facilities as well, which is the same as the RM240 package. i was now.

game nowadays is more or less the same as hollywood movies. minus the static storyline, new games nowadays have many different possible ending. regardless of different ending, the credit rollout will have the same theme. some games have great theme for it, and some are worst; just like movie soundtrack. other than ending credit theme, menu theme and in-game theme are also nice to listen (for some games lar). so, this thread is intend to allow us to share wat game-track is nice come, post ur fav game-track.

my top game-track:

1st: Medal of Honour: allied assault. <<<<-----the best ever

2nd: Prey's ending credit.

3rd: unreal tournament 2003 menu theme.

help on AGP texture acceleration

i face some problem with my graphic card, it is a ATI 9200SE. i remember it use to perform well (can play Doom 3 at 1024x768), now even with Warcraft III, at 1024x768 res, the FPS i got is around 25 or less. which mean it perform more worst than my other integrated graphic solution.

i check with the DXdiag and foung that the AGP texture acceleration was not enable. and i believe this is the problem. the button to enable it is missing, and the "disable" button is grey out. how to re-enable it? i try reinstalling drivers, with the newest driver also cant, and with the default driver also cant. sifu plz help.....

i currently in dilemma , i just accepted a job (software engineer) offer, but got another company call me for interview. that job is something related to e-banking and work in bank( the bank is hong leong bank)

* To participate and engage in e-Banking projects, i.e. involved in
user requirement documentation, user acceptance testing, procedure

compilation and staff training
* To plan, execute and monitor e-Banking products and services rollout

* To provide user support for e-Banking products and services

i like the software engineer job which i just accepted that offer. (plus good pay as well), but not sure about this so called (he told me the position on the phone) e-banking & transaction executive. anyone working in this field? care to comment or advice on it?

AMD Puma, a success or a failure?

i found many websites reviewing about the upcoming AMD's mobile platform, based on Griffin and a new chipset with integrated graphics supporting DX10. this site is the most detailed with pictures i had ever saw.

anyway, with AMD's habit of delaying products, i doubt it will b release in mid of 2008 as was promise by AMD. i think it will be around end of 2008. one thing about this processor is that, it is based on K8 architecture . the power saving function although is impressive, i doubt anyone will be interested with this processor, since that time we will have penryn and amd's own K10. both of this product will be a kickass for griffin. i wonder, why AMD is interested in making a processor based on its obsolete architecture ?
