Honor 5C

So..im thinking to get a new phone within 8++ budget..was browsing around & found this write up..
Is it worth for the money? Browsed in Vmall Website where can get cheaper?or any other suggestions would be good.. looking into the battery life & light to medium gaming..

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A friend introduced me to this hunk— Honor 5C. After spending some sweet time with it for a decent 15-20 days, I am so hooked to it now! First things first. It’s a charmer. It has certainly got those looks that will make you grab it wasting no time and hold it in your hand. The all-metal body is oh-so-silky! The rounded corners further add to its smoothness. The best thing about this 5.2-inch device is it’s so compact that it nestles in your hand readily. And you feel like it completely belongs to you. But believe me, it looks far more charming when you see it from the back. Its brushed metal skin instantly grabs eyeballs. But, butter fingers, be careful for it may slip out of your hand if you don’t behave like you truly care for it. So, hold it like it’s your little baby.

Mine is slightly ivory in colour. With that gold tinge it looks very elegant. I have got the audio jack on the top, a dual hybrid SIM slot on the left, power button and volume rocker buttons on the right, and the micro USB port and speaker grilles at the bottom. Flip it around, and you will see a 13MP camera jutting out, it is accompanied by an LED flash unit. I am sure the eclectic camera modes will make you a shutterbug of sorts. At least it made me so. I can’t help going clickety-click almost all the time. Not just that, you are also getting an 8MP front shooter. How we all love to take selfies! Don’t we?

Not just a charmer, it’s a performer too. Powered by Huawei’s home-grown Kirin 650 octa-core processor and paired with 2 GB RAM, it gives you no apparent lags. Plus, switching applications and running games are a breeze.

It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Huawei’s Emotion UI 4.1 adding a layer to it. It makes life so easy! You just need to flip your phone and the phone calls will get muted. My lefty brother is loving the One-hand UI. He shifts the keyboard to the left and does many more such fun things. One of my favourites is the Gloves Mode. I turn it on whenever I am riding with my gloves on.

Watching movies was never so fun. The full-HD display looks pretty bright and vivid. The icing on the cake is, however, the fingerprint scanner that sits right below the rear camera. It is so snappy and I am loving it. Just one touch, and here you go! You can, in fact, take selfies with it. Sometimes, I just find it cool to scroll through the gallery and check out the notification shade using fingerprint scanner. You can try too.

A meaty 3000 mAh battery seldom ditches you. It lasts for one and half days with moderate usage. Heavy tasking doesn’t take the wind out of it.

source
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is it good?Thanks in advance..

Pressure-Sensitive Touchscreen On Huawei P9

To break free of market homogeneity, smartphone manufacturers are constantly on the lookout for new features. If you are scouting for a new handset, you might just want to know what’s new these days. Let’s tell you first that 2016 is already seeing a surge in certain features. Cutting-edge cameras come embedded in your phone. Faster fingerprint sensors are rising to be game-changers.

Now, smartphone skin has become super interactive. But tell us what is that thing on your handset that you spend the most of your time with? Your smartphone screen, if I am not wrong. Won’t it be great to have a screen that’s smart enough to know what you intend the moment you touch it? This is called pressure-sensitive technology.

What is a pressure-sensitive screen?
IHS, a global leader in information services, has predicted, 2016 is the year of pressure-sensitive screens. Their research underlines the fact that 25% of all new intelligent handsets launched in 2016 will come with a Force Touch style display. This feature would allow the screen to distinguish between a gentle touch, a regular touch, and a forced touch on the glass. Different degrees of touch have corresponding functions. Which means you touch your screen with different levels of force and it will launch respective applications.

But how is a press-touch different from long-touch?
For example, if I go to the home screen on my Huawei P9. I can pinch in and have page views of home screens. Or I just need to force-touch the screen with a single fingertip and enjoy the same! If I gently touch the home screen and drag down, there opens the Universal Search option.

But don’t get confused between force-touch and long-touch. Force-touch is different from long touch that is widely used on other phones. The latter implies the amount of time that the screen is pressed, while force-touch is decided by the strength of the tap on the screen.

Huawei P9’s Knuckle pressure-sensitive technology will sure blow your mind! When I strike the screen with my knuckle my Huawei P9 can immediately sense and performs actions accordingly.

- One knuckle, two strikes: Takes a screenshot.
- One knuckle, draw an enclosed region: Captures that part of the screen.
- Two knuckles, two simultaneous strikes: Starts or stops screen recording
- One knuckle, draw a letter: Launches corresponding application. Like M opens music, C launches camera.
- One knuckle, draw a horizontal line across home screen: Opens dual windows.

Source

enjoy!

Enhance your GPS navigation

I’ve been using my phone for navigation a while now. I always get notification “searching for GPS signal” every time I use the maps application & whenever I use other location based app. Recently I found a way to enhance the accuracy of the GPS signal.

1. Location Service
Some of the applications like maps, navigation, and weathers require location services. User need to enable the location service and allow such application to obtain the location information in order to enhance the user experience.

Go to Setting -> Advanced Settings -> Location Services -> Enable Access to my Location & Use GPS Wi-Fi and mobile networks.

User may also base on their personal preference to select different mode for navigating:
1. Use GPS, Wi-Fi and Mobile Data: The Internet and GPS will synchronize and navigating accurately.
2. Use GPS and Mobile Data: Navigation is operating through mobile data only. However, it helps to reduce power consumption and extend the SOT.
3. Use GPS only: Navigation is operating through GPS only. No mobile data will be consuming.

2. Improve the Navigation Accuracy
User may also navigate their destination through GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth to increase the navigation accuracy effectively.

Go to Setting -> Advanced Setting -> Location Service -> Menu -> Scan Settings -> Enable Wi-Fi Scanning & Bluetooth Scanning.

1. Enable the Wi-Fi Scanning: The device will search for available Wi-Fi in order to improve the navigation accuracy.
2. Enable the Bluetooth Scanning: The device will search for available Bluetooth in order to improve the navigation accuracy.

Credit goes to @betul98

My question for the time being is, does the GPS signal same like network band? How do they categorized the GPS signal? Can we further increase the accuracy of the GPS signal?
Honor 5C users!

Honor 5C running on Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 4.1 comes with a ‘Navigation Bar’ feature that lets you customize the phone’s navigation buttons as per your preference.

The navigation bar, present at the bottom of the screen, features the back, home and recent apps/multi-window touch buttons (in that order) as default. These can be tweaked to include a button for the notifications shade. Pressing this button would bring down the notification shade and display the notifications.

You can also choose to reorder the buttons as per you choice. You can choose to keep the back button on the left or either on the right. I personally prefer it to be on the right, with the home button being at the center and the recent apps/multi-window button on the right.

To get started,
1. Tap Settings.

2. Next tap Smart assistance.

3. In Smart assistance, tap Navigation bar.

4. Select your combination of navigation buttons by tapping the one you want to set

5. You’re done!

The Navigation bar feature is exclusive to EMUI and has been found to be extremely helpful if you’ve recently migrated to an Honor device. With this feature, you can also tweak the buttons based on whichever hand you use to operate your device.

Go ahead and try this now!
