Honor 5C

Those who own an Honor 5C must have known by now what a gem of a thing it is! Its 13-megapixel rear camera along with the 8-megapixel front shooter is what gives you plenty of bang for the buck. I do a plethora of things with the camera. I get the desired output using some good editing hacks. However, sometimes I simply go to the camera modes and select the one that suits my purpose. It is so easy. It feels like some of them are tailor-made for me. Good Food, Light Painting and Panorama modes are my fave.

When I am dining out with friends, I simply need to switch on to Good Food mode, and it does the job. Isn’t it just fabulous! I don’t have to go through the hassles of setting the screen with the required brightness or contrast. I jump on to this mode and it takes care of everything. That saves me a lot of time, plus all the gossip that I might otherwise miss out on if I keep on twiddling with the phone to take a perfect pic. Now, you see, how vital that is!

Doesn’t the strawberry daiquiri—drooling, eh? It’s a blend of strawberry-citrus slush-- look more scrumptious in Good Food mode? Another great thing is how the camera distinguishes pink from red. I have been cribbing about how my previous handsets always failed to tell me which is magenta and which is cherry-red. I sort of came to terms that maybe smartphone cameras are not that wise. But, definitely not this one.

I can do so many interesting things particularly in low-light. I am a night owl. I stay awake till late. I love to spend time in my terrace and gaze at the stars or just look at the thoroughfare that gleams with headlights. If you share the same interests, you will love exploring the Light Painting mode with me. It has got four sub-modes, namely, Tail Lights, Light Graffiti, Silky Water and Star Track.

You can capture trails of light, be it in a busy road or in a dark set-up. You can document the movement of cascading waves and the twinkling stars flawlessly. When there is a power cut at our place, I do my experiments with Light Graffiti. One of my friends tried this out:

You can try some too. But I have a really memorable story that goes with Panorama mode. It was my bestie’s wedding. And before her family gave her a warm send-off, all of us friends wanted a group photo with the bride. I must tell you our group constitutes of people of all shapes and sizes. That’s why it was too difficult to accommodate all in one frame. So, I suggested to click it with Panorama mode with my Honor 5C. And the idea clicked! Here’s another shot that captures an entire backyard

This shows how embracing is this particular mode. It accommodates everything so easily. Now, tell me what are your favourite modes?
First view of EMUI 5.0 Android 7.0!

Guys, recently Huawei just announced their new EMUI 5.0 Android 7.0. I could say that this is an improvement in their UI style plus a lot of feature enhancement. To recap EMUI stands for Emotion UI and it's the name for Huawei's smartphone software, which sits on top of the Android OS and gives Huawei phones a distinctive look and feel.

Here you can see they went with the minimalize way with a bluish theme on the EMUI 5.0

EMUI 5.0 adds a fair few new features compared with EMUI 4.1, as well as changing up the overall design interface. But it's one little change that has made a significant amount of difference. The interface reveals a simple, atmospheric elegance in terms of color, font, layout & icon. Some of the Home Screen changes are:
①	The navigation buttons of EMUI 5.0, like the notification bar, are fully immersive now. The screen can widen the field of vision.
②	Compared to EMUI 4.1, the weather component of EMUI 5.0 left aligns by default, allows the screen space in a limited space more neat and orderly.
③	Photo gallery display box and music playback box, the EMUI 4.1 default desktop widgets, have been removed in EMUI 5.0 by default. They can be added manually according to needs.
④	App icons of EMUI 5.0 are more refined and intuitive than EMUI 4.1.
It also changes the aesthetics of version 4.1, with a cleaner, blue-tinted design that's pleasing on the eye. Ease of use is a major point here, and Huawei reckons that every last feature is no more than three taps away. That's not entirely true when you get down to more obscure stuff, but certainly all of the major features are in easy reach, especially with Android Nougat's more user-friendly settings menu.

Brand new pure blue UI
According from a source from Huawei, the brand new UI and effects are inspired by the blues and whites of the Mediterranean, thus providing a “pure” and clean interface. As you can see below, the UI is neat & clean compared to the previous version. With the polished UI, I think they can manage to capture the American & European market, which they have been trying to penetrate.

Icon Revamp

The icons visual characteristics has also improved & features more design aesthetic towards Android Nougat, giving it a modern & fresher look. For functional app like on the 1st row of icons, they have standardized it to cool color based while the 2nd row, is for lifestyle app & distinguished by the warm color.
These are my initial findings on the EMUI 5.0. I will share on later about my other discoveries when I got time. Till then!

PS: what do you guys think of the new UI? good or not?
