Amazing software inside out on the Huawei P9

We all have heard the news about the awesome enhancements on EMUI 5.0 that will soon be coming to Huawei P9, Mate 8 & Nova series. But before going on board with the EMUI 5.0, I would like to take you guys on a tour on the best features currently available on the P9’s EMUI 4.1. Here’s the throwback to the heavy loaded feature Android Skin that I have ever used! Enjoy!

Huawei P9 has got all those that we would expect from a flagship-class droid. While software is always a key factor in choosing a new smartphone, Huawei P9’s home-brewed Emotion UI is spot-on. Running atop Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the custom UI is actually much more than just the ‘skin’ and adds some major functionalities to the operating system.
Huawei P9 uses EMUI 4.1 which was also seen on its sub-brand Honor’s recently launched device Honor 5C. Users seem to be verily divided when it comes to EMUI. Some are ardent fans; others who are in two minds actually don’t understand it at all. It is a heavy skin with which you need to be familiar first. And once you learn the ropes, you can’t stop loving it!

Since its release, Huawei P9’s snappy fingerprint sensor has become the talk of the town. But that’s not all EMUI has on offer. Why just your fingertip, it makes use of your knuckles too. Knuckle Gestures are cool Smart Assistance features that gets many things done with the strike of your knuckle. You can get scrolling screenshots, record video clip of onscreen activities with this. For more fun, just draw a letter on homescreen to open corresponding apps.

Draw a simple horizontal line across homescreen with your knuckle to double the fun opening dual windows. But I have seen some cribbing about Huawei P9’s knuckle sense. Probably, they are not striking their knuckle right. One gentle strike, a bluish firecracker sort of thing goes up and you are good to go now!

It tries its best to impress you the moment you wake up your phone. There are stunning, high-quality wallpapers—Huawei calls them ‘covers’-- that keep on changing each time you wake up your phone. You can also add your own images and personalize. I like the quick access ribbon that appears when you swipe up from the bottom of the lock screen. You get some handy options like, camera, calculator, flashlight and voice recorder there on display.
To customize homescreen, there are plenty of options. Pinch in on the homescreen and you have the customization options right in front of you. You can play with widgets, wallpapers and experiment with transition animations. More Settings give you the freedom to set the homescreen grid size to as high as 5X5.

Leica-brand dual cameras are the USP of Huawei P9. Keeping in mind neat engineering has gone into developing the camera software. Most of the interface navigations happens here just by swipes. You get baked-in shooting modes, setting options.
Near the shutter button, there is a quick option for Pro Mode. This makes it super easy to switch back and forth between auto and pro.

And there’s no denying how helpful is Phone Manager. It puts power and memory management tools all in one bucket. It is versatile with options like Harassment Filter, Batter Manager and App Lock.
Notifications are much more refined. I mean, I can get detailed information when reviewing notifications which is definitely something its peer’s lack.

While the debate on EMUI is on, tell us what do you feel about it…

Mirror Share Tips

Got this from another site..I think it’s very useful

What is Mirror Share?
Mirror Share is a tool to mirror your phone screen to a television, projector or other display device. You can also push photos, music, and videos from your phone to another screen to share them with others.

To use this function, the display devices (television/projectors) must support Miracast function. This is supported on most of Android Smart TVs. If your display device does not support Miracast, you can buy an Android TV dongle or Android TV box that supports this feature and then you can connect it to your display device.

How to use Mirror Share?
*your phone and display device (or dongle) must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network

Step 1: Swipe down from the status bar to open notification panel. Touch Mirror Share Icon. (You can also go to Settings – Advanced Settings – Mirror Share)
PS: This is done on Huawei P9 Plus so some instructions may differ on other devices

Step 2: Select a TV (or TV dongle) from the list. You may need to enable Miracast on some display devices for your phone to detect them. After you have enabled the feature on your display device, then your phone screen will be mirrored to the display device. Now you can enjoy your phone contents on your Television or any other display devices!

Sample image…Here is the display device that had been detected on the phone.

There you go guys…hope u enjoy the not so technical post by me

Huawei Mediapad M3

The Mediapad M3 is the latest tablet by Huawei with better features upgrade than its predecessor; the Mediapad M2. It’s sleek, stylish curves give emphasis to modern industrial design cues. Crafted from aerospace-grade aluminium, each light, yet sturdy, uni-body shell is sculpted by a 5-axis CNC machine, exemplifying HUAWEI MediaPad M3's cutting-edge technological heritage. Slim, yet confident in the hand, the HUAWEI MediaPad M3 is a pleasure to use and an example of ergonomic brilliance.

The main highlight of the Mediapad M3 is not just the dual Harman/Kardon speakers that is co-engineered with, but it also boosts with a new generation of fingerprint control. People usually use the fingerprint button only to unlock the device & because of its enhanced security features; making it harder for other users to crack your device. Not to mention the less hassle you have to deal with when you use pin codes. The fingerprint button on the Mediapad M3 is a different story. It is embedded into the home button, making it easier to access. You actually can use the fingerprint button to control the navigation of your tablet.

Fingerprint Navigation
The fingerprint button now encompasses the three biggest features of the traditional button: Back, Home, and Recent. This makes the user experience much quicker and simpler.

The usage of the Press and hold: return to the home screen; swipe right: swith between multiple tasks; swipe left: swith between multiple tasks; touch: Back

If you are unfamiliar with fingerprint navigation, you can activate the traditional virtual navigation bar:
Go to Settings > Smart assistance > Navigation Bar, and turn on Show navigation bar.

Adding a New Fingerprint
Go to Settings > Fingerprint ID and then enter your password. Select New fingerprint and then press your finger on the screen as directed to record your fingerprint.

To ensure data security and a successful fingerprint read, every fingerprint must be pressed and scanned in 20 times. The extra time this takes is worth it for the ease of use you get.

Fingerprint Verification
Fingerprint ID can also be used to manage your safe, app lock, and Huawei ID. When you need to verify passwords for these you need only to scan your fingerprint.
Activating fingerprint ID requires the same process as that for screen unlock: Go to Settings > Fingerprint ID and then turn on the relevant feature.

Access safe: Open Files, go to Local > Safe > Enable, and enter your password.
Access app lock: Open Tablet Manager, find App lock, and enter your password.
Verify your Huawei ID: Every feature within the phone system that requires logging in to your Huawei ID can be accessed using your fingerprint ID (with the exception of browser apps).
