According to the latest issue of Famitsu Weekly,The Next JRPG pf Level 5,White Knight Chronicles(白騎士物語 - 古の鼓動) was plan to release on 18th December 2008 in Japan.

White Knight Chronicles (白騎士物語, Shirokishi Monogatari?) is a video game RPG developed by Level-5 and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 3. It is Level-5's first project for the system, and is currently slated to release in Japan sometime in mid to late 2008, with a worldwide localization to follow shortly thereafter. According to Sony during a press conference in Tokyo, White Knight Chronicles is expected to launch during the current fiscal year, which ends March 31, 2009,though whether this applies to all releases of the game is still to be determined.

While little is known about the title, Level-5 has revealed they are placing an emphasis on scale within the game world. As per the playable demo at the 2007 Tokyo Game Show, some enemies are extremely large in size, resulting in battle situations similar in style to Sony Computer Entertainment's PlayStation 2 title, Shadow of the Colossus. In one piece of concept artwork, a massive turtle-like creature is depicted carrying an entire city on its back.
Perhaps we should looking forward for any big news on TGS?

Gameplay

White Knight Chronicles, like most other console RPGs, is presented in third person perspective. The player can freely choose which character to control. Like any other RPG, the characters gain experience points and level up, becoming stronger over the course of the game. Level-5 plans to make White Knight Chronicles a 50-60 hour game, a length Akihiro Hino considers to be a full length RPG, going against the pressure to make White Knight Chronicles a launch title and cutting the story short.

World

The Tokyo Game Show trailer shows that, similar to Soul Blazer, one can select locations on a world map, presumably ones the player has already visited, to instantly go to, along with a preview of that area. Each area also has a quest list that shows quests the player has yet to complete. The player can choose a quest to do before going to the desired area.

Battle system

The battle system used in White Knight Chronicles uses a real-time combat system, where the battle mode is initiated automatically when enemies are present. Before a battle, the player optionally goes into the "Battle Preparation" menu (accessible at any time) and chooses a set of seven commands for each character in the party. This set of seven commands is called a "Function Palette", and several of these palettes can be saved, suggesting that tactical palette preparing and switching will be essential to the game. The commands can also link in some way, presumably to create combos. These can then be used in battle, but before a player can perform these combos the character must attack when the enemy is vulnerable otherwise the attack gets blocked or deflected. The player controls one of the characters, while the others are controlled by the AI, as seen in the Tokyo Game Show trailer. Players, though, can freely change the character they're controlling. The main character can transform into the White Knight when a gauge is filled, using normal attacks on minor enemies. Characters can also perform combo attacks with other characters, such as one character holding an enemy while another attacks it. Boss battles also take place in a similar fashion except that they may include cutscenes for in-battle events.

Since there are questions about how to get to play online, here's a rough guide on how to do it.

First of all, you can assess GeoNet at the Save Point Crystal. The 3rd option will bring you to another menu.

1. To get unto GeoNet.
2. To display your status (Online/Offline) and to edit your online message. Your friends will be able to see your posted message, like PSN.
3. You can view your list of friends and the ones you've played together online.

As you can see, this is the main menu of your own blog. As you can see at the top, I've got 4 Golden Trophies collected so far. So it'll be displayed on my blog page. The functions of menu on the left is as described below.

1. General view of your blog.
2. To blog. Post your rants and random thoughts here.
3. Rooms available for quest.
4. Your friends.
5. Other people's blogs that you're interested in reading. It also shows the 3 main pages available on Geonet where everyone gathers and play together.

Option 3 and 5 sounds as if it's pretty much the same. Actually it isn't. Option 3 are rooms created on your own page. So if you have access to my page, you can create a game room on my page and I can join you from there. Vice versa, I can create a room on my page, you can assess my blog and join the game as well.

As for option 5, if you want to play randomly with others, this is where you go.

This is the option 5. Go to the 2nd tab and it'll load down all the latest blogs that's been typed all day. The first 3 are the main ones that you should join to find for game rooms.

The is one of the main blogs' page. Go to the 3rd option to view the available rooms. It'll list down 20 rooms. So choose whichever is suitable for you.

It'll then show the list of people in it and their respective levels.

Once you've entered the room, you'll see 2 guards standing at the main gate. The one of the left gives you 3 options to choose from.

1. To view the world map and choose the quest that you've bought in story mode. You then can create a game and others can join in.
2. Join a quest that's available. Which means someone else had bought the quest and create a game for you to join.
3. Quit.

By choosing the 2nd option, you can see the games available. And so your quest starts here.
And the rest, is for you to find out once you get a copy of the game.
