Dell S2340L screen problem

I've just bought the monitor in less than 2 months. The screen appears more bluish on the right side compared to middle and left. I can also see some visible scan lines up close. Does anyone else has the same problem?

I'm pretty sure, it's not my graphic card or the cables because I've removed the cables from the graphic and did the built-in diagnostic test. It still shows the same thing.

Hi folks. I need some clarifications here.

Yesterday I received a call from a woman claiming to be an Etiqa staff. She asked me if I'm free to talk and started to promoted her Etiqa insurance. I just listened to her halfheartedly while doing my own work until she mentioned that Etiqa will deduct RM74 from account every month (although I never agreed to it). The dialogs were something like these,

Woman: Ok, so now we'll be deducting RM74 from your account every month. Before that we'll need to ask a few questions.

Me: Eh wait, I never said I'm going to buy the insurance. I'm still studying and I'm already covered by another insurance.

Woman: Don't worry, it's only RM74 and your parents will surely agree to it. And let say in the case your parents had an accident, will you be able to pay for it?

Me: Can I think about it later and if I'm interested, I'll just call you or go to any Maybank branch?

Woman: This is special because you are one of the few selected Maybank account holders and entitled for the special price. This offer is only available by phone conversation. The usual price is normally RM1++.

(Now it's becoming weirder)

Woman: And if you think RM74 is too high, you can also go for the RM44. You now have two choices, RM74 or RM44.

(And there's not even a choice to reject both..)

Me: Can I at least see the T&C or any black and white first?

Woman: Well, sir, the whole agreement is based on this phone conversation which will be recorded.

Me: I'm sorry, I can't make the decision now as I mentioned I'm still studying and I already have another insurance.

Woman: Ok then, we'll just have to remove you from the list and give others who needed it.

Well, the question is, Is this some kind of a scam? Can they really make the agreement via phone call without our signature, etc? And let say, they still deduct from my account, can I take some legal action since there's no proof on my side either.

Well sorry for the tl;dr. Hope someone can share their thoughts here as well.

Btw, although I should just put down the phone, I choose not to. I thought, maybe I can just play along and not to be rude at the same time.

Linksys WAG120N connection problem

Hi! I just bought this wireless modem router 2 weeks ago. Now I can't connect both wired and wireless through this modem although the power is still there. I can't connect to the setup page either (using the cd and the manual 192.168.1.1). I also tried switching off the modem for few hours and rebooting it. Pushing the reset button didn't help either.

In short, here are some of the things I've done,

Wireless connection using my pc, ps3, another 2 laptops ------------- Failed
Wired connection using LAN cable and 2 laptops ------------------ Failed
Switching off for few hours and restarting ------------------ Failed
Pushing the reset button --------------- Failed

I would appreciate if somebody could help me or if others have the same problem maybe we can share something. I intend to send it to my seller later tonight but if possible I require every input I need from you guys first.

Can a Thalassemia minor carrier donates blood?

I have a Thalassemia minor and I've been wondering for this for quite some time. I'm aware that Thal. minor normally exhibit normal features except some slightly anemia. But can they really donate blood? I'm kinda worried if it will affect or harm the patients

I've recently did a blood test and it seems my Haemoglobin, MCV, MCH and MCHC are much lower than the reference range and I heard from my friends normally the blood donation officials won't accept those with low Haemoglobin.

I hope somebody would clear this up for me. If possible I would not want to drive to the clinic just to ask this question .

Finally watched the 1st episode . The quality of the animation is superb compared to the previous series.

From the 1st episode, I'm expecting there will be more drama (betrayal, jealousy) later on. Let's just hope it will not turn out to be a "NICE BOAT" kind of ending

Since there's no thread on this anime, I wonder if you guys have already watch this

The only reason I downloaded this anime because I'm a huge fan of Carnelian's work. Previously, she did Yami to boushi to hon no tabibito and Kao no nai tsuki (Moonlight Lady). In fact, I think If I'm not mistaken, this anime is a spinoff from Moonlight Lady. Although, I haven't see any characters from that anime yet. Maybe I need to re-watch Moonlight Lady again to confirm it (If only I can remember where I hid it. Should be somewhere in my hidden folders ).

Suprisingly, like Yami to boushi, this anime is also damn confusing. After watching a few episodes, I still can't understand the plot. It were as if the sequences are all messed up . Oh, well. As long as it's from Carnelian, I'll still download it anyway .

Minidisc recording via optical cable

Hi guys. Is there any where to record music from pc to minidisc without using the optical out from the soundcard. I'm using an Audigy 4 which doesn't have any optical output although it has a spdif out.

Currently I'm using the spdif out and a mini to RCA cable to connect my coax cable to my z680. Is there a connector for coax to optical. I know there's some link where you can DIY your own cable but I'm not good in electronics

Normally, (1) do you approach a lecturer and ask for any availability of research project and ask him/her for the research topic, or (2) you came out with a topic on your own and then approach him?
