One which guarantees that each person can freely choose its number of remote days and when they are in the week, as well as beeing counted by the month and not by the week.
An immediate increase in all salaries to compensate for the drop in our living standards in recent years. The restoration of the profit-sharing at a 60% objective. The end of the gender pay gap and a higher increase in low salaries.
Actually listening to employees opinions by the implementation of a “social dialogue” worthy of the name. Management seems indeed to confuse monologue with dialogue.

The entire staff of Annapurna Interactive, the video-game publishing division of Megan Ellison’s Annapurna studio, resigned this month following a dispute with its owner.

A spokesperson for Annapurna confirmed that it had explored a spinoff and said the parties failed to reach an agreement, which led to the resignations.

"Our top priority is continuing to support our developer and publishing partners during this transition,” Ellison said in a statement to Bloomberg News. “We’re committed to not only our existing slate of games but also expanding our presence in the interactive space as we continue to look for opportunities to take a more integrated approach to linear and interactive storytelling across film and TV, gaming, and theater."

The exodus has led to chaos as game developers partnered with Annapurna try to figure out what this means for their upcoming projects. As a publisher, Annapurna is responsible not only for funding the games but for handling services such as quality-assurance, adapting the products for local markets and marketing. Over the past few days, game makers working with Annapurna have scrambled to find new points of contact and figure out whether the company will continue to honor its agreements.

The spokesperson said that all existing games and projects will remain under Annapurna.

New president Hector Sanchez has told developers that the company will honor existing contracts and replace staff who have left, according to people who asked to not be identified because the conversations were private. Sanchez, originally a co-founder of Annapurna Interactive, was brought back last month.

Annapurna’s video-game division has developed a reputation for publishing critically acclaimed titles made by small teams, racking up awards with games such as Outer Wilds, Stray and Cocoon. Last month Annapurna announced a deal to partner with the Finnish gaming company Remedy Entertainment to bring the critically acclaimed Control and Alan Wake franchises to film and TV.

The Hollywood Reporter said earlier that Annapurna Interactive’s top executives had quit but not that the entire team had departed.

Sony is working on a new “high-end version” of the PS5, codenamed Trinity and likely to debut as the PS5 Pro later this year. The Verge confirmed leaked specs about the PS5 Pro earlier this week, and we’ve also obtained details on how existing and new PS5 games can be “enhanced” to take advantage of the PS5 Pro hardware. Sony is also working on an ultra-boost mode for older games to make them run better on the PS5 Pro.

Sources familiar with Sony’s plans tell The Verge that Sony is asking developers to create a new PS5 Pro-exclusive graphics mode in games that combines Sony’s new PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) upscaling to 4K resolution with a 60fps frame rate and ray-tracing effects. Insider Gaming first reported on some of these Enhanced PS5 Pro game details last month.

While Sony wants this new mode in games, the PS5 Pro “Enhanced” label will still be available for a variety of other scenarios that include 30fps games. Developers have the option of increasing the target resolution for PS5 Pro games that run at a fixed resolution on PS5 or even increasing the target maximum resolution for games that run at a variable resolution on PS5.

That could mean we see PS5 Pro Enhanced games that run at between 1080p and 1440p resolution at 30fps on the base PS5 and run between 1280p and 2160p on the PS5 Pro at the same frame rate. A fixed resolution increase from 1440p to 2160p would also qualify as a PS5 Pro Enhanced game. Developers could also choose to enable ray-tracing effects and get the PS5 Pro Enhanced label without improving resolution or frame rates. If a developer wants to target 60fps instead of 30fps with the same resolution, this may also qualify as a PS5 Pro Enhanced game.

Simply running a game at a more stable frame rate on PS5 Pro is not enough for the Enhanced label, though. Sony also won’t add the label to games that run with a variable resolution and see increased resolution on the PS5 Pro that doesn’t improve the maximum resolution. So if a game moves from 1440p–2160p variable to 1800p–2160p variable, this will not qualify for the Enhanced label.

Developers will need to update their games to Sony’s latest SDK to take advantage of PS5 Pro features, but some games that haven’t been updated will still benefit from better performance on the upcoming console. I understand that the PS5 Pro will have an “ultra-boost” mode that will help VRR modes run at a higher frame rate, and games with a variable resolution may render at higher resolutions. Overall frame rates may be more stable in certain games, too.

Sony does warn developers that many unpatched games won’t show improvements in this ultra-boost mode, though. Games that run at a fixed resolution and graphical settings for fixed rendering resolutions won’t show improvements. Even if developers remain on older versions of Sony’s SDK, they can still utilize PSSR to upscale titles and get access to the additional system memory that Sony is offering game developers.

The requirements for the PS5 Pro Enhanced label seem largely similar to what Sony did with the PS4 Pro, and there’s some clear flexibility here so developers can pick what they want to improve. If a game qualifies for the Enhanced label, it can be displayed on disc packaging and on Sony’s PlayStation Store pages.

DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) policies have come under fire in recent months after concerns of quality have arisen regarding games being used for social messaging at the expense of being fun and marketable.

Despite being one of the most widely recognized gaming companies in the world, Ms. Okuma Mirai from Bandai Namco expressed the company’s desire to expose their games to “wide variety” of players.

One of the examples Ms. Okuma gives is the addition of dreadlock hairstyles to Blue Protocol, which is something they hadn’t considered. It’s worth mentioning that Blue Protocol announced its end of service in Japan, and its global release has been canceled.

According to a recap of the panel from Japanese site 4gamer, Bandai Namco has gone all in with sharing DEI programs and articles among its internal staff saying:

Ms. Okuma went on to defend localization practices, explaining English and Western societies as “low-context” due to their multiculturalism.

On the other hand, Western culture is low-context, starting from a place of no common understanding and placing emphasis on verbal expression, which is due to the fact that Western countries are multi-ethnic countries with immigrants and other factors. Therefore, it was shown that simply translating Japanese lines and explanations into the local language may not be interpreted well due to a lack of words.

This is in spite of the fact that English-speaking consumers are expected to trust localizers to provide an authentic product respecting the creator’s vision and intentions; with fans responding positively when translations are done faithfully.

In the coming months we’ll see how Bandai Namco intends to implement and represent these new values for the company.

A company that serves as a "significant minority shareholder" in Ubisoft has called for major structural and strategic change at the studio and has expressed "deep dissatisfaction" with Ubisoft's current direction.

In an open letter to Ubisoft's board of directors, which CCs CEO Yves Guillemot and stakeholder Tencent, investment company AJ Investments criticizes Ubisoft's "current performance and strategic direction".

AJ Investments says Ubisoft's recent quarterly results, which saw upcoming releases The Division Resurgence and Rainbow Six Mobile pushed back beyond March next year, have "heightened" its concerns about management's ability to deliver results for shareholders.

The investor sets out four proposals to "increase [the] value of Ubisoft for all stakeholders". They include allowing Ubisoft to go private, selling the company, changing current management and ousting Guillemot as CEO, or starting a "proxy fight" via French minority law.

As for its reasoning, AJ Investors says that Ubisoft is being "mismanaged", and that shareholders are currently "hostages of Guillemot family members and Tencent who take advantages of them".

The company goes on to say that it "cannot understand" Ubisoft's management strategy, and that the studio seems more focused on "pleasing investors" rather than providing an "exceptional experience" for its fans.

AJ Investors claims that many of the studio's IPs, including Rayman, Watch Dogs, and Splinter Cell, are being underutilized, and that recent releases are underwhelming.

The company does, however, say that Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was merely "okay", but that "nobody talks about the game anymore". That's...probably because it's a single-player game everyone's finished, guys. Not every game needs to be headline news every day of the week.

Further on into the letter, AJ Investors proposes several ways by which Ubisoft could improve its performance and its standing with shareholders.

They include taking the company private for a "fair price", as well as laying off staff, a procedure AJ Investors rather callously refers to as "optimiz[ing] staff levels". Other recommendations include refocusing on core IPs and another call for changes in management.

This letter comes after industry analyst Serkan Toto pointed out last week that investors seem "very disappointed" about the sales of Star Wars Outlaws, with shares dipping 10% in just two days. Toto followed this up with another post today noting that stocks had fallen another 9% in Paris.

AJ Investors does note that the Star Wars Outlaws Metacritic score currently sits at 76, a score the company says is "quite good in our view" (despite stating earlier that the game was "not 100% ready to release"). For what it's worth, our own reviewer rather liked it as well.

We'll have to wait and see how Ubisoft responds to AJ Investors' call for change, if indeed it responds at all. Stay tuned for more.
