Anti-Hamas protests have started in Gaza Strip

Footage circulating on social media shows what appears to be hundreds of Palestinians taking part in protests against against Hamas in multiple locations throughout the Gaza Strip.

Today’s demonstrations were planned several weeks in advance, with anti-Hamas activists pledging a major turnout on today’s date of June 26.

But as the date approached, Hamas operatives began issuing threats against Gazans considering taking part in the protests, which may well have impacted turnout.

The protesters are carrying signs reading, “God willing, Hamas out,” “We are not pawns,” and “We want to live.” In one video, chants of “Enough with the destruction” (of Gaza) can be heard.

It’s unclear where exactly the protests are taking place in Gaza.

Earlier today, the Facebook page “June 26 Revolution” called for demonstrations at 18 different locations across the Strip.

Iranian-Americans call on FIFA to expel Iran from World Cup

Instead of pride, many Iranian-Americans feel shame about the Iranian team's participation in the World Cup and are demanding that FIFA remove the country from the competition, protesters said on Wednesday.

The team's presence is outraging many who see the Iranian government as using the competition to sportswash its killing of dissidents since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Protesters said many thousands have been killed over the years, including during widespread demonstrations in January, and that hundreds of athletes have been among the victims.

"Bringing them here and having them play basically presents a calm face to the world, when in fact back home there is no calmness, there's only execution and suffering that the regime has brought," said 21-year-old American-born Ryan Salami, whose parents both fled Iran, in an interview at a protest in front of Los Angeles City Hall.

"This is the ayatollahs' team," said Asghar Adibi, who was a member of the Iran national team in 1970, to the crowd. He said the team was controlled by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and that it was wrong to allow an organization "that kills people, tortures people, to have a team representing them."

US will be attacking Iran again today

US President Donald Trump says the US will be attacking Iran again today, indicating that last night’s strikes against the regime were only the first part of Washington’s retaliation against the Islamic Republic for shooting down an American military helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz.

“We’re going to be attacking them and attacking them very hard,” Trump says in the Oval Office when asked to explain his Truth Social post from earlier today, when he said that Iran would have to “pay a price” for taking too long to reach a deal.

“We hit him hard yesterday, and we hit him again hard today — in case you miss it because you don’t turn on your television set,” Trump tells reporters.

“They keep playing us for suckers,” Trump says, adding that Iran would be facing a far worse retaliation had the pilots in the downed helicopter been injured by the Iranian drone, which he claims was “a bomb that was lodged in the helicopter that didn’t explode.”

Israel, US readying for renewed strikes on Iran for as early as next week

Israel and the United States are undergoing the most intense preparations since last month’s ceasefire for renewed attacks on Iran, seeking to be ready as early as next week, The New York Times reports, citing two Middle East officials.

According to US officials, one of the options for an operation would include putting commandos on the ground to extract nuclear material buried under rubble.

Such a complicated operation would risk several casualties, as it would require thousands of supporting forces to create a perimeter around an operations area, and likely engage with Iranian ground troops, military officials tell the Times.

Troops could also be used to conquer Kharg Island, a key Iranian oil export hub in the Persian Gulf, officials add.

Another option would include more intense bombing of Iranian military and infrastructure sites, US officials say.

Israel launched its campaign against Iran, alongside the US, to degrade the Iranian regime’s military capabilities, distance threats posed by Iran — including its nuclear and ballistic missile programs — and “create the conditions” for the Iranian people to topple the regime, the military and other Israeli leaders have said.

The ceasefire reached last month has left those declared goals unfulfilled.

Trump: The US strikes were “just a love tap"

US President Donald Trump says three US Navy destroyers transited out of the Strait of Hormuz under fire, adding that the American destroyers were not damaged but “great damage was done to Iranian attackers.”

Earlier, Trump tells a reporter from ABC News that the recent US strikes were “just a love tap” and adds that “the ceasefire is going. It’s in effect.”

On Truth Social, Trump writes that the US attacked Iranian seacraft that fired at US Navy ships.

“Three World Class American Destroyers just transited, very successfully, out of the Strait of Hormuz, under fire. There was no damage done to the three Destroyers, but great damage done to the Iranian attackers,” Trump writes on Truth Social.

“They were completely destroyed along with numerous small boats,” he says.

He threatens Iran with further attacks unless it agrees to a deal in ongoing talks with the US.

“A normal country would have allowed these destroyers to pass, but Iran is not a normal country. They are led by LUNATICS, and if they had the chance to use a nuclear weapon, they would do it, without question,” he writes. “But they’ll never have that opportunity and, just like we knocked them out again today, we’ll knock them out a lot harder, and a lot more violently, in the future, if they don’t get their deal signed, FAST!”

Organizers of a flotilla sailing to the Gaza Strip publish footage in which an Israeli Navy officer can be heard calling on the activists to change course.

“If you wish to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, you may do so through established and recognized channels. Please change course and return to the port of origin. If you are carrying humanitarian aid, you are invited to proceed to the port of Ashdod,” the officer can be heard saying.

Israel’s Foreign Ministry publishes a video it says shows “condoms and drugs” that were found aboard one of the vessels that has been intercepted by the Israeli Navy.

US Navy fires on Iran ship after warnings ignored

Iranian ship tried to get past US naval blockade seized

An Iranian-flagged cargo ship sustained significant damage and was taken into custody by the US Marine safter it tried to get past the naval blockade, President Donald Trump announced in a post on Truth Social on Sunday.

According to Trump, the ship was named Touska and was given fair warning before a US Navy ship attacked it. "The Iranian crew refused to listen, so our Navy ship stopped them right in their tracks by blowing a hole in the engine room," he said.

Trump also mentioned that Touska is under US Treasury sanctions due to its "prior history of illegal activity."

The US Central Command confirmed the attack against the Iranian vessel, saying that it was performed by guided-missile destroyer USS Spruance, which intercepted the ship as it transited the north Arabian Sea at 17 knots en route to Bandar Abbas, Iran.

The ship was given a six-hour period to comply with the US, after which the American destroyer disabled the Touska propulsion system. US Marines later boarded the ship and took custody of it.

Costa Rica joins other European, Latin American countries in recently designating the IRGC as a terrorist organization.

Costa Rica designated late Wednesday night Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Hezbollah, Hamas, and Yemen's Houthis as terror organizations, the country's Foreign Ministry confirmed.

The government made the decision on Monday, according to the announcement.

This was adopted "in accordance with Costa Rica's international commitments in fighting terrorism and its financing," the ministry wrote on X/Twitter.

It will "allow intelligence authorities and judicial bodies to strengthen their prevention, investigation, and prosecution capabilities, acting more decisively against any logistical and financial support networks that may be operating within the country to sustain these organizations," it added.

"Likewise, the designation seeks to prevent any form of action or influence by these groups in Costa Rica, safeguarding the security of the population and integrity of our democratic institutions," the ministry stated.
