Headunit recommendation for AA

Hi fellow sifus,

I'm thinking of changing the factory JVCKenwood headunit in my 2020 Corolla, seeking recommendations for headunits that would fit my budget and needs.

1. Budget of RM1k-RM2k
2. Android Auto (wireless is a bonus, but I doubt can get at this budget), BT, FM, no need CD player
3. Compatible with the factory 360 camera (believe it is external module with AV in to current headunit)
4. Plug and play to prevent any warranty issues

Any opinions on the Sony XAV-AX100? Seems like a decent budget headunit, love the volume knob, only downside the screen size is smaller at 6.4"

Anywhere that buyback old phones and tablets?

Hi all,

Bringing my 2011 Altis to service soon, was planning to replace the suspension together as suspension gone ady. Considering SC charge suspension can be quite expensive at times, had a thought to try with aftermarket suspensions, but I'm new to this area so was hoping to get some advice or recommendation... Should I just replace with Toyota or go aftermarket?

Looking for hassle-free and comfort-oriented suspensions, not too pricey la... any brands and workshops can reco?

Toyota DVR sound recording

Hi all Toyota owners,

Those with the factory DVR, does yours record audio as well? When I reviewed the video on mine, there is no audio recorded at all. I'm also not able to find any settings on the DVR and user manual to enable audio recording... did I miss something or it simply just doesn't record audio?

Toyota Vehicle Telematics System (VTS)

Hi all,

Are there any Toyota owners with the Vehicle Telematics System or anyone with an understanding on what does this VTS system do? I've asked multiple salesmen about this system but they don't have much idea on it either.

I was wondering would the VTS system allow for remote lock, unlock and start features or just vehicle location only which seems like a waste of money for RM250 a year...

205/55R16
Using Michelin PS4 now, great grip but on the noisier and rougher ride side, so looking to change to something more comfort-oriented like Primacy 4 or similar from other brands, any advice?
Budget: max RM400 per tyre

225/65R17
Using Michelin Primacy SUV, great grip and ride but a little noisy as well, any recommendation from other brands or best still change back MPSUV?
Budget: max RM550 per tyre

2011 Altis Auto Fold DIY help

Just bought a side mirror auto fold module (SmartStar/T-Maz) for my 2011 Altis, planning to DIY, last resort only bring to shop to install...

Anyone knows how to install/or has experience installing b4? I tried to install following https://youtu.be/rXc9mK7drvw but to no avail, I think because my T-taps didn't go all the way through, and any sifu can confirm this one is correct for 2011?

I connected the red wire from module to grey wire, blue wire from module to sky blue wire and green wire from module to red wire, is it correct?

I'm currently using 205/55R16 Michellin Pilot Sport 4 and need to change them soon. I heard of the new Toyo Proxes TR1 and was wondering if they are better than the PS4?

Otherwise, I'm looking for a tyre more towards comfort than sportiness, budget is under RM500.

Recommendations for HU and Reverse Camera

Hi all,

I have a 2011 Toyota Altis with factory non-touchscreen headunit, looking to install an aftermarket headunit for reverse camera.

I'm looking for a headunit that can support Android Auto, with Android Auto Wireless being a bonus. Otherwise, other music sources are bluetooth, radio and CD (not priority)

I would want to retain steering wheel controls functionality as well.

What headunit would be recommended in this case? I've checked out Sony, Kenwood and Pioneer and the one that stands out to be is the AVH-Z9250BT but it's quite on the pricier side. From Sony as well the XAV-AX3000 seems good as well. I would like to not spend more than RM4000 total incl installing the reverse camera.

Also, anyone has recommendations for good shops to install around PJ/KL/Cheras area?

Help with setting up WDS on TP-Link

Hi all,

I have just replaced my TP-Link Archer C1200 with an Asus RT-AC68U, and now I'm planning to use the TP-Link as a repeater for downstairs as signal strength is weak at certain parts.

I found out that WDS should allow me to configure the TP-Link as a repeater, and with my router having the 1.0.0 Build 20161115 rel.42795 (EU) firmware installed, I can access the hidden WDS feature. After enabling it and following this page, I get stuck at the part where I change the LAN IP address. After changing the LAN IP address, a pop-up appears telling me it is switching to the new IP address page but I'm unable to access the new router settings page anymore.

Is there anything I'm doing wrong or could it be because I'm trying to bridge two routers from different manufacturers?

Recommended Tyres for CX-5

Hi all,

I'll need to replace the tyres on my CX-5 soon, and I'm planning to replace with a lower tyre, either 225/55R17 or 225/45R17 as the rear of the car constantly feels unstable and I also find the 225/65R17 tyres a little too tall and out of proportion

What tyre would be recommended for these sizes? I'm currently using the Michelin Primacy SUV which is acceptable but can be quite hard and noisy at times and is not available for the sizes I want.

So far from my research I found ASUS RT-AC1200G+, RT-AC58U and the RT-AC1300UHP, how do these routers fair?

Unifi Bad/Problematic Internet Connection

Hi all,

I'm subscribed to TM's 500Mbps Unifi package and while speed and everything is ok, I'm facing a problem where the internet would just not load. For example, when browsing on Facebook, when opening an article, the loading bar will load around 50% and get stuck there forever. Other apps will also lead to the message "Couldn't connect to the network" and I would have to constantly switch to mobile data to get the sites/apps to load.

I'm also having the problem where my wifi-enabled Samsung washing machine is unable to be controlled through the phone when the machine is connected to Unifi, but works fine when I connect it to a mobile hotspot or portable wifi.

I'm wondering it may be a problem with my TP-Link Archer C1200 router as many other Unifi users doesn't seem to have the same issue.

Any opinions/suggestions?

I'm looking for a mechanical keyboard, preferably a wireless one with either Cherry MX Blue or Brown switches or similar. Tenkeyless would be preferred but full keyboards are fine too. I'm willing to spend around RM350 with RM400 being max.

A backlit keyboard is preferred, and having RGB lighting options would be nice too but not necessary

Recommendation on the best 205/55R16 tyres

Hi all,

I will be changing my 2011 Toyota Altis tyres soon, which are 205/55R16s as they are almost botak already

I'm currently using Pirelli Cinturato P7 tyres, but I find that they are too noisy on the road and it's very hard, like if I go over bumps, it's very uncomfortable inside the car.

I'm looking for tyres that offers a good-balance between good grip, little noise and a comfortable ride for not more than RM500 per piece.

Also, where would it be recommended to go to change my tyres near Glenmarie/Ara Damansara area?
