JPA Scholar Bond; STAR Programme

Hi guys.

I just recently graduated a month ago, now waiting for JPA to contact me. I heard that there is a program called the STAR program where we can serve our bond by working in private sector. Is STAR obligatory if one did not get a position in SPA? Hoping for grads in the recent years to contribute to the info.

Also, if I don't get a job in one year, does that make me eligible to apply for bond release?

Thank you!
