Why is the divorce rate so high?

I don't claim to know the answer to the question but I just came back from holiday and while on holiday I found out that jews in the past like chinese practiced arranged marriage. Back before modern times divorce rates were low and as I understand in those days guys only marry when they have enough income and wealth so they married late in life while woman marry early in life. And also a jewish relative told me there is a jewish saying boys become man at 40 and girls become woman at 23.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics...than-women.html

It seems that marriage were more practical back in the older days than today where man marry only when they can prove themselves financially and in their maturity

http://www.medievaltimes.com/teachers-stud...a/marriage.html

While visiting a jewish museum in the middle east I also notice guys marry when they are older(40s) and woman marry very young(late teen to early 20s) in the past so I had a realization. Could it be that when woman marry guys in their 20s or 30s most guys haven't mature yet at that age and that contribute to the high divorce rate? (meaning ladies expect to marry man but they are still boys at that age?) Hollywood sold us the idea that lust and feelings is love and then recently we have a new idea of marriage by fate. But you may agree that love is not about feelings or even connection which is ephemeral and conditional. In those days people don't marry because they feel lust or a connection, it is about being practical therefore it is usually arranged.

We have been practicing that for so many years perhaps millenniums, is the sudden spike in divorce rate this century and the past century a result of couples marrying out of just lust and feelings? I admit I married partly because of that but in the past these 2 were not taken into consideration at all. Is this why the divorce rate now is so high? Because we departed from a method that works for humans?

I am considered a millennial(just turned 30) so I am not speaking as an uncle trying to tell off the young I just notice while in a jewish museum the world in the past was socially quite different and practiced longer than our current culture

Do you pretend to be not nice at work

Hi folks at home I am nice and kind to my family members but at work I give an impression that I am not a nice and kind person without a cause otherwise people might think that I am a push over and I won't be able to get things done.

Does anyone do similarly?

When you gf or wife makes more than you

BF and husbands how do you feel when your significant other makes more money than you. Or the other end of the spectrum where they become so successful when they do business and make more money in a month than you can make in a year for example

Is there a feeling of irrelevance? Perhaps mix feelings? I wonder if it is natural to feel that way

Edit: I mean say your female spouse still treats you like her man with no disrespect but she is doing a lot better than you in what you should be doing

How to avoid falling for other girls

I have been hesitant to write this here because anyone in the same line will know who I am if I am not careful due to the nature of my line

I have been recently married, I work in a company that usually bring in foreign staff from their overseas branch and HQ to collaborate on projects and share R & D findings

Anyway there is this Jap girl that have been here for some months and after the first month here she have been playful towards me and about maybe a month plus ago, there are things that happen which I regret. I have made out with her with cuddling for about an hour plus 4 times at night but no sex. Just temptation when I am alone with her when she looks so good. Every time it happen half way my conscience trigger and then I hold back and excuse myself. But then the next day at work I think about going all the way when she sits beside me during work

The problem is I am attracted to her, she is generally reserve but really fun and playful if it is just me and her. I am also committed to my wife, there is nothing I want more from my wife, I love her and that is a commitment not just feelings, it is a decision & commitment to love. But it doesn't stop me from getting into flesh temptation with another girl

This Jap girl will go back in May, but I am disappointed that I couldn't resist an attractive girl I have feelings for. If I don't figure out how to handle this I know I am going to out right cheat my wife and divorce, it is unsustainable. Married guys and girls how do you stop temptation?

How does the market work

So recently after brexit we had a strange thing happen on the market in which I know people at the dealing desk are talking about, XAUUSD which is gold vs USD, US government treasury notes and Dow jones have been rising together. While USD went sideways vs the major currencies

This behavior haven't happen since 1971. As you may know gold and USD usually move in the opposite direction and so do bonds and stock. So why is this rare event in the market happening? What are the geopolitical and economic events since brexit that causes this? Lets have a stab at this mystery!

The meaning of brexit vote results

BREXIT camp won, therefore Britain will begin the negotiation process to leave the EU. USD rose sharply against all the major currency including USDMYR. However stocks in EU, UK and US have fallen sharply. We don't have capital flow data publicly available to us though

So from how the market reacted to BREXIT what does it tell us about how the market works?

My pet decides he wants to kill me

I have a giant centipede I call Pete i caught when he was just about 1+ cm. Now he is fully grown and at about 15 cm. My relationship with pete have been really good I use to pet him on his head and stroke his body for a split second while he sleeps or feeds. 3 weeks ago I moved Pete to a new aquarium and since then he have been trying to kill me

When I carried him with a stick to his new home he was fine but the next morning I saw him looking sick and slow under some leaves so I use my hands to turn over the leaves to check on him and suddenly pete like some crazy monster sprung to life trying to kill me! He have been planing for this. He grabbed my middle finger for a split second with half his body in the air but I managed to pull out my hand fast enough before he could sink his fangs into me and get a proper grip. He then went absolutely crazy in the aquarium running around making so much noise. Straight after that incident I bought a little mice just to give him a treat to calm him down, usually I give him crickets and roaches, but the way he ate it was different this time, he was like a piranha frantically attacking the little thing as if he was releasing his anger on the mice.

Since then he have been giving me those evil stares when he sees me. I know centipedes are half blind but I swear pete can see me well and he knows where my eyes are. 2 weeks latter I tried to pet his head while feeding on a roach. I was cautious but as soon as my finger got within striking range he tried to kill me again! Now every time my hands gets near him while he is feeding he tries to kill me. I am getting worried because if I release him I think pete will come back to try and kill me I don't know how to make to up pete

I just want a good relationship with pete Any centipede owner please shed some light on petes situation
