Before you proceed to use this guide, please read this info FIRST:

Tested on Windows 7
Tested using Internet Explorer 11. Using other type of browser will not guarantee the output same as per screenshot provided. Future version of the Internet Explorer might change too, rendering the output deviated.
Tested using Epson LQ-310 Dot Matrix Printer

Prerequisite

Install printer driver for Epson LQ-310
Have basic knowledge in HTML
Internet Explorer 11 at least available
Notepad ++ (preferred). Download from here. Built in Notepad don't have color view for easy identification in HTML. Other similar HTML editor can be used (DO NOT edit with MS Word since it will add another code which *might* render the output different).

After the step in previous post completed i.e installing printer driver, installing Notepad++, time to setup the paper size & margin.

Paper size as follow:

Width = 21 cm
Height = 10 cm
Margin = 0.5 cm (all position)

Save it with any name you like. You can refer image below. This setup using current Poslaju form with revision number "08-1668-B-R1":

My other setting when I set is as "Default Printer"

After setting done, you might want to download the HTML file and save it on your desktop for quick access (THIS IS THE REQUIRED FILE):

Before print, you might want to adjust it to suit your need. This is where Notepad++ is used. Select the HTML & edit it Notepad++. Those with redline the part you want to edit. If required you can delete the data between "<SPAN></SPAN> code" (e.g in line #200) but DO NOT DELETE the entire line.

After done editing you can "Save" it or "Save As" other copy if you like.

Then, open it using Internet Explorer (current version is 11). Other browser might not work.
Go to Print Preview (100% viewing) and adjust the setting (adjustment required if the printer is not set default & paper type is not Poslaju form). Please ensure to put Margins = 10 mm (all position). Refer image below. After done click OK:

If you can't find Poslaju Form, click Printer Icon and select Epson LQ-310 from printer list, right click it and "Set as Default Printer". Then click apply. Refer image below:

The final step is printing. Preview it again before printing, so you can confirm the final printout should be as intended. Set it as "Landscape" mode at "100%" view:

Home water heater wiring

I'm working to install water heater of my father in law's house but I'm not familiar with the switch. I like D.I.Y job & so far I can install photocell & PIR sensor.

Weird character in browser

I tried Google for solution but lead me to lot of website but none of the solution available.

I used keyword like "weird character", "font", "apostrophe" etc.

It seems this problem related with the system font (I guest)...Please refer the image below :

Freeware 3d renderer

I search this forum under Common Software Link, Hardware etc but cannot find. When I Google, the result is not what I want.

Here what I want :

I've downloaded software long time ago that testing your AGP to render 3d shape balls & it display the info (framerate etc). It's not like Futuremark. I don't even recall the name. I used keyword like "intensive 3d renderer", "freeware directx renderer" etc ...

Resizing AVI using VirtualDubMod

This guide is written based on this article. There is difference between the original article & this guide :

Using VirtualDubMod instead of VirtualDub.
This guide focusing on resizing the video but at same time include the step to ensure compatibility with home divx player.

Note for home dixv player user :

Refer your manual for specification & any restriction that apply like max allowable bitrate, allowable audio bitrate (Constant Bitrate or Variable Bitrate), prefered 4CC & aspect ratio.

Software you need :

VirtualDubMod
DivX 6 or XviD 1.1
GSpot Codec Appliance
Lame ACM MP3

You can download those software from free-codecs.com.

[Guide] IE 7 shortcut icon problem

* This guide is tested on Windows XP Pro SP2

After installing/updating Internet Explorer 7, my internet shortcut icon (*.url) is not displayed properly under Start menu and other IE based browser like Maxthon. This example from start menu :

The problem is when the shortcut is not pointed to the right library. You can check this by right click > properties > change icon. This is shortcut which has the icon problem :

This is the shortcut which display the IE icon :

Did you notice it. There is 2 different shortcut :

%SystemRoot%\system32\SHELL32.dll <- problem with the icon
C:\WINDOWS\system32\url.dll <- icon properly displayed

Now you should get the idea how to fix it. Right Click > Properties > Change Icon. Replace %SystemRoot%\system32\SHELL32.dll with C:\WINDOWS\system32\url.dll (both apply to Start menu & Favourites).

Walla ! Icon fixed ...

NOTES/UPDATES:

Using Tweak UI to rebuild the icon won't work since very obvious the problem lies with wrong path to the icon library.
It seems work with Start menu only (read next info).
It seems this trick won't work for Maxthon . Ironically, Maxthon use "Favourites" from IE too but IE 7 has no problem to display the icon properly.

Dear Sempurna/sUBs

My friend asked me to check his PC & he reported have a scanning problem. It appear his WinXP will scan HDD occasionally during boot-up.

Based on the pinned thread and posted thread I try to fix the problem. Maybe I'm not following the sequence - forgive me on that. Here the summary :

* Run "regedit" but it was disable (my friend's login is admin mode). I run a script to enable it but not using "Regedit" yet.
* Check "Folder Options" - can access.
* Run "HijackThis" - I saw few unknown entry (missing files on HDD). "Host" files also hijacked. I fix the missing entry & delete "Host" file. This is entry of original "Host" before I deleted it :

Bigger thumbnail image

ImageShark & Photobucket (for eample) have ability to embedding thumbnail into the forum.

But, those image is small (less than 200px). I would like to make it larger, say 350px. The idea is people can see the thumbnail clearly & at the same time can click that thumbnail for larger image.

Since those thumbnail is at default size, is there any way I can utilize the Forum code or tricks to do that ?

Sure, there is a way but 2 different size of image is needed right ?I post 1st image 350px and post a link so people can click that link which open the bigger image.

[Guide] Convert AVI (DivX/XviD) to DVD

Information: This guide intended for anime with hardsubbed (subtitle embedded in the video itself)

Download gui4ffmpeg from here.Extract the zip file to create it's own folder.

Step 1: Launch gui4ffmpeg :

This is what I do :

Load my AVI video
Select as NTSC
Set the aspect ratio 4:3
Set bitrate to 6000 kbit/s (default value)
Click this box if changing from NTSC to PAL or vise versa
Audio set as ac3
Channel is 2
Choose target location

Step 2: After complete the conversion, launch Nero Vision 4 to do the mastering :

Step 3: Add the videos which have been converted earlier:

You can adjust the videos by clicking the button as below:

Arrange the video up and down
Delete the video from the list
Rename the video
Add the chapter to the selected video

Clear Adobe Reader 7.0 MRU list

Wonder how to remove files list in Adobe Reader 7.0 ?

1. Go to Start menu, click Run.Type Regedit
2. Next browse the registry hive.It's should be located here :

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\7.0\AVGeneral\cRecentFiles

Those key c1,c2 and so on is the MRU listed.The list will corresponding on how may MRU you set under Edit > Preferences > Startup > Maximum document in most-recently used list

The key you need to delete :

After deleting the key, launch Adobe Reader 7.0 to check the MRU list :

Yes !All annoying most-recently used files gone ..

UPDATE !

Tired to launch regedit & browse the tree to delete those key ?There is a simple way.By creating a *.REG file . I'll show you how to create *.REG file :

Launch Notepad
Copy these code into the Notepad
Ensure to select "All files" under Save As Type. Put the name e.g "clear adobe MRU.reg" (It is important to put .REG after a file name)
Double click that *.REG file .It should look like this -> . When a pop-up asking to merge into the registry, click Yes

Clear Yahoo Messenger Custom Message

This guide tested on Yahoo! Messenger With Voice version 7.0

Some of you may wonder how to delete this custom message.Whenever you type the new message, the old one will be replaced.But, there is no option from messenger itself to remove it.Example like this one :

Well, there is a solution for this.

1. Go to Start menu, click Run.Type Regedit
2. Next browse the registry hive.It's should be located here :

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\yahoo\pager\profiles\<YM_id>\Custom Msgs

Note: YM id is your messenger id

As you can see from the registry itself.We want to get rid of the underline msg

But wait ! Simply delete that key won't be enough.You NEED to DELETE ALL KEYS as per image below.If you failed to comply, the custom message will be gone but leaving A BLANK SPACE.Proceed to delete the keys :

After you delete the key, launch the messenger back to verify the deletion :

Tadaa !Look ma, no more custom message.

UPDATE !!
