So it turns out that images of Apple's new MacBook Pro, set to be unveiled on Thursday, are actually hiding inside the latest macOS Sierra update. They confirm that Jony Ive and Apple's designers have added a touch bar to the company's top-of-the-line laptop. To make room for that, Apple completely got rid of the function keys that've been at the top of Mac keyboards for years. Physical esc key? Gone. Same for the brightness buttons and volume controls. They're history. Apple wisely seems to have combined the power button and Touch ID sensor, though it's not yet clear whether this button is actually mechanical.

Now it's probably fair to assume that many of these settings — at least the more popular ones — will appear on the touch bar by default. I can't remember the last time I actually pressed esc, though I do feel for programmers and engineers.

Previous reports have rumored that the touch bar will present different controls and options based on the apps you've got open, which makes a ton of sense. The versatility of touchscreens was one of the things that Steve Jobs highlighted when introducing the original iPhone, remember. "Every application wants a slightly different user interface, a slightly optimized set of buttons just for it."

Now that philosophy is coming to the MacBook Pro's bottom half. How often do you really adjust the keyboard's backlight? Do those controls really need to be permanent? Forcing people out of their button instincts might also help boost Siri usage on Apple's desktop and laptop computers. I write for The Verge and have barely used it since Sierra launched, which probably isn't an awesome sign.

No more new church and temple

BRUNEI is a small country with a population of only about 400,000, of whom 67% are Muslims, 13% Buddhists, 10% Christians and 10% other religions.

Do the one third of non-Muslims in that country still enjoy religious freedom?

There are three churches in Brunei, and in their day-to-day lives, the Christians do feel the impact of the hudud law.

There had been calls on social media earlier for the city hall of Miri, just across the western border in Sarawak, to demolish a church

The news was carried prominently in the Malaysian media.

The Bruneian netizens had claimed that the church did not care for the feelings of Muslims on the other side of the border, and that it was disrespectful, displaying banners in praise of Jesus and God.

When the Sin Chew Daily team arrived at a local Chinese restaurant to buy food, we met an old Christian couple from Sarawak, who had lived in Brunei for 55 years.

We started to talk about the conditions of Christians in the oil-rich Sultanate.

They told us there were only three larger churches in Brunei, namely St Andrew’s (Anglican), St George’s (Catholic) and St John’s in Kuala Belait.

“The government will no longer issue new permits for the construction of churches but the ones completed earlier can still be retained,” they said.

The one the old couple attend is not an independent church building but a shophouse-type meeting hall.

They said while these meeting halls were allowed to remain, they could not apply to expand into full-fledged churches.

In other words, there are only three independent church buildings in the country and the number will not be increased.

We travelled to Bandar Seri Begawan to visit St Andrew’s and St George’s, both within a stone’s throw from each other on a side street diagonally opposite the Islamic criminal court.

While a cross was seen on top of both buildings, there were no religious banners on the external walls or any place visible from outside the buildings.

At St George’s, we could see many Catholics attending Friday mass inside while St Andrew’s, being an Anglican church, was all quiet.

The couple told us local Christians were allowed to hold low-key Christmas celebrations inside the churches or at homes, but not outdoors or at a shopping mall. Christmas decorations and sending greeting cards are seen as offensive to Muslims and against the country’s law.

Non-Muslims are prohibited by law to preach to Muslims or atheists.

Offenders can be fined up to B$20,000 (RM60,000) or up to five years’ imprisonment, or both.

The Brunei government has also listed 19 terms for the exclusive use of Muslims only, and Christians are not allowed to use the Malay version of the Bible.

Currently, there is only one Chinese temple recognised by the government: the over 100-year-old Tokong China in the city centre.

Other than that, local residents told us there is another unregistered resident-type Buddhist altar which could be closed down anytime if someone were to report it to enforcement authorities.

“This is the only Chinese temple here, a 100-year-old relic permanently protected under the order of the previous Sultan.

“Because of the royal order, this temple has been able to survive,” a local Chinese told us.

Similarly, no permits for the construction of new Chinese temples will be issued by the government.

In the meantime, a Bruneian Muslim told Sin Chew Daily they were also not allowed to celebrate Valentine’s Day and many youngsters have the wrong impression that Valentine’s is a Christian festival.

In addition, Muslim parents are banned from entrusting their children into the care of non-Muslim families.

As for non-Muslim parents, many are worried that if their children get converted, they might lose the custodial rights of their children. — Sin Chew Daily/Asia News Network

Walaupun beberapa kali cuba untuk mengelak daripada menjelaskan secara terperinci sebab perkahwinannya dibatalkan disaat akhir, Fara Fauzana akui berasa sedih dengan kejadian yang terjadi. Membatalkan perkahwinan disaat akhir bukanlah sesuatu perkara yang mudah untuk dilupakan, tetapi bagi Fara, hatinya tidak pernah tertutup untuk lelaki. Cuma baginya sekarang tumpuan tidak lagi berada pada komitmen peribadi tetapi sudah beralih kepada kerjayanya dan juga meluangkan lebih banyak masa bersama berharga bersama rakan dan keluarga. LegCo Election 2016: Ballot papers outnumbered voter turnout in at least 5 polling stations

Serious discrepancies have been uncovered in results from at least five polling stations for this month’s LegCo election, FactWire can reveal.

Using statistical records from political parties and citizens, FactWire compared the voter turnout and the total number of ballot papers in 96 stations, one sixth of the 571 polling stations.

FactWire has repeatedly contacted the Registration and Electoral Office (REO) for official statistics on the issuing of ballot papers, hourly voter turnouts and number of invalid ballot papers. No replies have been received.

According to the 2016 LegCo General Election Operational Manual, the hourly voter turnout marked on the P15 form should be consistent with the hourly number of ballot papers issued. The total number of ballot papers refers to a sum total of the valid and invalid ballot papers (including tendered, spoilt, unused and unmarked ballot papers) of each candidate. The total voter turnout should equal the total number of ballot papers announced at the end of the counting session.

FactWire found two more polling stations in the same situation as those in Tai Po, Tseung Kwan O and Sham Tseng, where ballot papers were found outnumbering the voter turnout on election day by candidates representatives. Polling staff in these stations only counted the ballot papers for the geographical constituency within the station, and did not collect or count ballot papers from small polling stations.

The total number of ballot papers was found to have exceeded the voter turnout by 103 and 100 ballot papers at CCC Kei Wai Primary School (Ma Wan) (K1301) and Wan Tau Tong Neighbourhood Community Centre (P1101) respectively.

the 5 polling stations had a total of 831 excess ballot papers.

The last hourly voter turnout and cumulative voter turnout was crossed out, and new numbers were written on the form. The revised numbers were added with 100, 100 and 300 extra ballot papers respectively.

Two photos of the P15 Form at Wan Tau Tong Neighbourhood Community Centre taken at different hours show a change in total voter turnout. At 12am, it was captured as 4,808, then was found changed to 4,908 at 4am, at the end of the counting session.

The Officer Law saw messy correction marks on statistical forms. She pointed out that more than 2 hours were taken to prepare the station for the counting of ballot papers, and the station did not reopen until 1.40am.

Polling agents objected, saying there were inconsistencies in the number of ballot papers. Witnesses reported seeing polling staff inserting counterfoils and unused ballot papers into black suitcases, wheeling them away from the polling stations, and coming back around half an hour later. Despite reporting their observations and complaints to the presiding officer, they received no response. Other ballot papers were placed on the counting desks unmoved. The presiding officer recounted the ballot papers twice, and both yielded
different results from the first outcome.

Mod berdrama Chenta

Gila. Parah. Lama benar rasa nya tidak ku singgah-singgah. Doakan /kalian kekal tolol dengan troll, jiwa besi lestari bak papan kekunci. Kelak yang parah, sarung2 kan lah baju merah moga beraja di hati Kak Mah.

Al maklum lah, ke warung /kalian pun dah lama Mod tak menyinggah, kikikih.

Sis Mod cuti 2 hari katanya, exam penggal bakal menyinggah, doakan result dia tidak menggugah. Alang2 Mod pulang ke kampung, MOD BERHAJATKAN PIZZA BUAT KELUARGA, lantas Mod belikan Mozarella. Susah hei, mau cari cheese mozarella di sini. =="!

Usai Subuh, Mod uli tepung, siapkan topping menggunung, baik sosej, tomato, minced daging, pepper Sarawak (sifu Michelin pernah puji, andai satu bahan diidamkan, dia mahukan pepper Sarawak, mahsyuk-sarga-wala rasa katanya), ditambah freshly peeled basil.

Tepat 6 pagi, Mod cadang mau jogging pepagi, Rasulullah kata, keluar senja subuh, baik buat rezeki, eheh. Tebingan pantai cantiknya gila, luar biasa. Ahmoi dan awek bagai di syurga. 5km pertama, bagai esplanade Mod yang Raja. Kelompok gundik ketawa manja, eceh, bajet Mod mau menyunting bunga kahhh. Sedari Mod jejaka setia, 8km masih tak berkalih muka, langkah digagah, se cita Tun Jugah.

Lupa nak cerita, Mod berkampung sejak 3 hari lepas. 3 hari tu jugaklah Mod di follow si cilik ayu. Gumam Mod, pelajar uni terdekat lah kot. Kekal berSneaker pink-u (baca Pingu), Mod acah xkesah dan tak tau. esplanade berbaki 2km di hadapan, Mod perasan scenery menjadi2 cantik Ya Tuhan TT_TT..burung lelayang merancak di langit, Mod perasan si Ayu kekal mengekor 5km lepas.
