Under Counter water purifier leaks

Hi all, trying my luck here as my water purifier is leaking when idle. It's a Xiaomi MR432 under the counter model and been owning it without any issues for the past 4 years. The only thing I have done to the machine in the past month is changing the composite and RO filters. I tried resitting the filters but to no avail, the water is still leaking from the RO side.

Does anyone else have experience with this machine and know a shop who services it?

I'm not sure how to troubleshooting here are some pics of the purifier and the RO filter

Laptop connects while disconnecting another device

Hi all, I'm experiencing something really weird here.

So I got this laptop from work and it was connect through my home router via the 5Ghz band. Whenever it gets connected, my Dyson fan gets disconnected from its 2.4Ghz band. It only resumes online when I connect my laptop via a cable. I have 2 more devices here that are connected through the 5Ghz channel i.e. my mobile and Switch, and a couple more via 2.4.

Totally at a loss here, please let me know what sort of information do I need to share to troubleshoot this?

Router: Dlink DIR882
ISP: Time

2014 HP Omen not powering up

Hi all seeking for your assistance on this.

I have the 2014 HP Omen 15 laptop. I recently purchased a new battery for it after noticing that the old battery was swelling. While waiting for the new battery's arrival, I have taken the old battery out and the laptop has been powered by the AC adaptor ever since.

Today the new battery arrived and after installing it in, the laptop did not power up. First thought that came into my mind was the static built up so I pressed the power button for a minute, with and without the battery, it was still not turning on. And now I'm questioning if my AC adaptor is also fried (though weird it was working this morning before I unplugged it for the battery installation) cause the laptop is still not powering on without the battery.

I have also tried to restore the BIOS by holding Windows Key + B or V + Power button for 3 seconds, and it isn't booting still.

Never thought giving this laptop new life could cause me so much trouble. If you guys have any similar experience or anything you could share to help me revive this beloved laptop would be awesome!

Thanks in advance.

Mi Home not responsive in the evening

Hi all,

I have been using my Mi home smart devices for awhile and over years I have up to 35 devices now. Very addictive and can never go back to conventional electrical appliances again. Almost everything at my place is automated:

- lights in the living room turns on after sunset when main door is open
- air conditioner turns on when room temperature is above 29c in the evening
- smoke detector alerts my phone when smog is detected
- lights in the bedroom turn on when motion sensor detects movement

and etc.

However I notice they have not been very responsive lately, especially when giving orders to Xiao Ai (xiaomi's Siri). This is more apparent in the evening between 9pm to 2am. On the contrary, it is super responsive from 2am to 6/7am. It executes the orders as soon as you finish saying your sentence.

Are you guys experiencing the same and do you have a fix?

PS. My devices are on China server

Mi Home Universal Remote not working with AC

Hi does anyone have experience using the Mi home universal remote with their aircons (and work)?

I have a Daikin AC and although its one of the supported brands, it only allows me to power on and off.

I tried the customize setting and configure the remote myself, by pointing my AC remote and do all the mapping. The setup process was smooth but once completed, it doesn't work.

Would like to hear from you all.

Maxis number cannot be verified by Airbnb

Hi guys,

I was trying to book a place on Airbnb today and surprised to find out that I cannot proceed with the booking because of my number. I am using a postpaid number and the app simply does not send the request for a SMS verification. I can understand if Airbnb does not recognize a prepaid number for verification but a postpaid? And isn't Maxis the biggest mobile provider in the country?

Has any of you been thru the same experience and know a workaround?

Buying the S8+. Should I buy it outright or plan?

I would like to get the S8+ soon but am juggling between signing a plan or buy it outright. Apart from one coming with a sim card and the other doesn't, what are the difference between in terms of the devices? Will the Telco one have their logos and bloatware everywhere in the devices, and get updates slower?

Hi I will be relocated to KL soon and will be relying on public transport regularly for work. I have been recommended to get a Touch N Go instead of MyRapid since TnG can also be used for highway, parking etc. However does MyRapid has cheaper fare comparing to TnG? Do they also have monthly packages that allow passengers to make unlimited trips for a fixed price?

My usage of internet passes are very irregular due to the nature of my job. I need to travel overseas from time to time therefore 2GB for 30 days is sometimes way too much for me. However when I purchase the lesser data passes like 600mb for a week it automatically purchase another pass after 7 days. How do I stop that?
